You made the whole process look so easy that I would be tempted to attempt that. Very clear and simple explanation of the whole process. A great video.
Fantastic job, going to do mine now and watch your video tutorial as i do it. Garage told me the water pump was connected to the timing belt, i didnt believe him.
Done this job today belt was vary tight had to undo idler pulley fit belt then tighten idler pulley bolt never would have got belt without doing that thanks for your video.
Very well explained Max.Are you using a different Camera for this Video ? The quality is excellent.I always like the way you explain things, and give the sizes of sockets needed .Best Wishes.Thank you for sharing
Excellent video. Great informative footage. Question for you regarding keeping the timing from going out as I will be changing my camshaft adjusters aswell as doing the TB . Any advice very much appreciated.
Thanks for the the awesome video and very well explained , do you have any idea or info on replacing and egr valve on same type of vaxhall zafira , any info will be appreciated , car coming up with p400 code
I strongly recommend warming the engine to undo the bolts, egr bolts in particular are known to snap and cause issues so to avoid that, having warmed the engine up a bit helps a lot! I would strongly advise against cleaning the egr, these are electronic and not diaphragm operated by engine vacuum so once they start to block the spindle that the motor pushes in and out pretty much burns itself out and they never work quite right again or you end up taking it off to clean it every year
Thanks good video, so the timing belt doesn't go round water pump, replacing water pump not necessary, timing belt interval change 100,000 miles or 10 years from what i can see, ,my one at this point is 6yrs and 80,000 miles from when Opel changed it last, so might get it done soon, may try it myself, thanks again.
NO. This is not an easy job. If you do this job successfully, and a fail cannot be thinkable, then you have achieved really quite something. WELL DONE. You need three arms. One to hold the spring tensioner tight clockwise. Then you get the belt on the LEFT pulley and the right one with VERY little slack. Have the wheel on, and turn the engine backwards together the belt on the bottom pulley, then turn the engine clockwise to tension the belt. CHECK to see if the pulley timing marks are correct. Finally pull the tight belt over the guide pulley. Good luck.
Yes of course, you don't necessarily need to refit it on initial start up to ensure timing is fine but obviously it needs to be refitted for normal operating conditions

You can do it! 😁

Yes I believe that is the procedure which makes it a lot easier but I obviously didn’t read properly and made life hard for myself 😂
Excelent video , well explained , and after watching umpteen videos your lighting has been the best ,,,,nice one.
Hi there I’m glad it was helpful!
How about the crank pulley bolt? How did you tighten it back up?
Nicely explained...
As l have to do my sister's car...all made easier.

Simon a Brit in Spain 👍
Let me know how you get on!
@@maxautouk will do..👍👍
Good video, but what if the cam pulley markings don’t line up when the cranks at TDC?
Just move them to the correct position 😁
Can you do a video fro the cam phase pulley replacements
If i ever get one that needs it then yes sure!

Thanks for the comment, my only advice would be to be very careful and triple check everything!
@@maxautouk thanks for the quick response

Great video mate do you know if the toque settings are still correct?
25nm?
Or 20nm plus 120 degrees
Not sure what to use ?
Or just make it tight
I used the procedure from the main dealer and it said 25Nm but if you’re unsure you can always go to double check at the main deale r

Can you put a link to the locking tool you used bud?
You can find them on eBay under the engine code 💪🏽
