I follow you from Egypt .. I learn more from you thanks a lot
Perfected video very clear and helpful
That was so quick,excellent job!!!
great job, as per the rest of the videos you post. thank you for taking the time to share this
Good video. Explained well. Gives me confidence to change my own belt.
Thanks guys. Brilliant video.
Do you have to follow any markings on the new belt itself and match them with markings on the car?
Great clear guidance. Will be using this for mine
Great video! Used this as a guide and changed the timing belt and comp. in about a 1 1/2 yesterday on my daughter's 08 Saturn Astra XE w/173,000 miles! Location Dayton, OH! Thanks!
Много добро видео!
Great vid be nice to see from the very very start
Super video - many thanks :-)
Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou.
Enjoyed, very useful, and incredibly informative!+
Hi, if i may ask, @auto Repair
can the engine start if you miss the timing Marks
Hi guy's is the timing belt kit the same for insignia 20 diesel 170 bhp 2016 vxline thanks Chris
Good video. I see u removed the valve cover, to put a lock in, and also the lock between the cams. Did you also lock the fly wheel with a tool?
Good stuff 👍 I’ve done a few of these myself
Hi, if i may ask,
can the engine start if you miss the timing Marks
Any issues with the self adjusting tensioner?
Hi
Is this also the same with Vauxhall Insignia 2016, 1.6cc engine diesel? Thanks
What if you buy a timing belt kit whereas the timing belt has arrows pointing to it where do you line those arrows to the bottom pully?
Is this applicable for A16LET engine as well?
your doggie looks happy ;-)
ive just got a 2005 1600cc astra when should the belt bee changed mines up to 115,000 miles
Good morning, why do you have another point atte twelve o clok on the left gear tree, grettings for you.
Could you give little support to my cruze car, i have done cam belt change but the car takes much More fuel as normal and i dont know why
Is it normal for the tensioner to have some in and out movement? Both the old and new one have a bit of movement which I found strange. We’re talking about 1-2mm
Hi guys im also doing a opel astra 1.8 but just want to know how should the camshaft lope lay when engine is tdc
You mention something about removing the sparks plug. Would that help in making the belt go in easier.
If you remove the spark plugs you don't have compression and it's easier to turn the crank shaft
do you happen to know the make of the factory belt?
Nice and neat
Do you know the part number for Opel Astra g 2004 model. I am due for timing belt replacement.
I tried releasing the tension on the chain but the cams spin
Hi, what if the crank is at TDC but the camshaft marks do not line up?
Great vid but you missed locking the crankshaft, i know a lot of us have no need for this but some 1 may watch this to do theres and spin in
the only mechanic with 2 left hands.
You didnt tell them to tighten the pulleys to correct Nm
I saw the Martenitca(Мартеницата)
would be great to either include the water pump installation or atleast a link to the entire job in description. i hope i can find it.
Why you must open the cap of the motor when you have The yellou bloking tool??
I did this job yesterday on my Z18XER. Didn't need the Cam locking bar. Just used the yellow gear locks to hold the cams. Taking the valve cover off is not needed.
You didn’t lock the crankshaft?
i always dream to find a rolex in an oil sump
Do you really need to have the cam locking tools to do this job?
Thats what I was thinking.. with the cam gears locked you would think the cams are not gonna move
I found this quite helpful BUT! I bought a new tensioner and it came with a pin holding it closed. It allowed me to install the belt without fighting the spring. Can I send you a picture?
@@tvfcobra5884 belt and braces. Just extra insurance. One tooth out and goodbye engine

Ok guys
от къде си купувате мартениците ?
I have a timing Chain...I don’t have no no timing marks pls help me
You shouldn't need to replace a timing chain like you would a timing belt unless its stretched and making excessive noise.
Hello my friend, I am from Algeria. I have a Chevrolet Sonic engine vibration problem with a flag. One of my friends told me that it is not in a correct position as in the video of a car scanner.
You didn't replace the water pump. But very nice video I like it.
Thank you!
That's cos the water pump isnt driven off the cambelt 😉👌
@@user-fn1rb9ze6p yes but when timing belt is changed also water pump needs to be changed to prevent it from failing. The water pump is driven by the poly V belt. It's normal interval change for 100k for diesel engine and 150k for 1.6 and 1.8 patrol engine
@@danielefrancavilla its between 40k to 100k smart ass for both petrol and diesel. Belt aww chain driven. And water pump is not allways done with belt if its running on an ancillary belt lol
@@daverob1680 And of course I'm not talking about miles not being english but km. The change of the intervals is written on vehicle's user manual. So is around 60-80k miles/90-120k km for Diesel and 100k miles/160k km for petrol or 10 years what comes first. On my 1.6 or 1.8 petrol also the water pump must be changed. I'm afraid 40k miles is a little too early or useless. When I got mine changed at 150k km my timing belt was still in very good condition. Cheers!
@@danielefrancavilla different in the UK timing belts are done between 40 and 100. Usually is 80k mark where they fail belts on pettols . Chains can last 100/150 on diesels. Chains recomended at 100k
when should the timing belt be changed ? what mileage 70,000/80,000 ? 115,000 miles ?
Manufacturer states 100k miles. Haynes manual advises 40k miles.
Something tells me that is the same belt they took off
