    I have a lot of different style bikes but there is something pure about riding my GTS. With not much in front of you, twist and go and a quiet engine it’s almost like flying down the road. It’s more of the pure essence of biking that other bikes fail to do.

    Your conclusion is spot on in high density urban environments. These Vespa’s are so damn handy. Pretty low maintenance too. The good news... A Vespa GTS nearly never looks old. The design hasn’t changed that much over the years... The older ones (around years 2010) are also nice and ride as well. Usually the suspension is due for an upgrade on these models. But other then that... a bargain (secondhand models might be somewhat more expensive in the US, here in Europe we can find plenty of them)..;

      I've been watching Jamie for years, he's honest will give a conclusion to his reviews to help consumers make good and wise decisions because not only he rides the bikes but he knows what he's talking about. I hate reviewers who goes to a dealer and ask to do a test ride and ride a bike or scooter for the first time and just after 1 mile they start talking about the bike and try to give it a review without doing homework on it. The worst is as soon as they twist the throttle the reviewer say "wow it's got power or it lacks power that I didn't expect" well of course because they have never rode it before. Jamie is a pro and won't steer you wrong.

      Just use the center stand, it’s 100x sturdier then the side stand. When my girlfriend bought her Vespa sprint, she just had to have side stand. So I installed one for her and it ended up tipping over and she hasn’t used the side
      stand since.

    Never use the side stand just toss that in the recycle they fail and the result is a lot of damage to the bike when it falls. You can get wider tire and you should. Your top speed is off and you need to change the rear wheel abs indicator wheel. You can get quite a few more beans out of it by changing the variator and clutch which I would also do. Gives you more go on the highway

    • @edwardpurkis6432
      @edwardpurkis6432 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      2000miles and mine never fell. Why. Because I never parked it with the front facing down hill. If like you state here they were junk, you would see them all with scraped side panels. As for putting bigger tyres on it, the 300 handles well - even the motorcycle press universally agree. The standard tyres are very good. Putting larger ones on will make the bike wallow, and not track accurately -oh yes, it will also invalidate your insurance. So good luck claiming when owner error has caused it to fall off the stand. It probably wouldn’t occur to you that the larger tyre makes it lean over more hence the toppling problem. SMH!

      Nitpicking here, but I also reacted to the frame comment. Every scooter on the market has a steel frame (maybe aluminum) clad with plastic body panels. The Vespa has a steel monocoque, that means the steel body panels is the chassis structure. There is no frame underneath. It is both expensive to make and repair but it creates an incredible stiffness.

The undisputed, hands-down best bike of the bunch for an urban environment (even including my XR supermoto) is the 250 Vespa. There is absolutely no question.
