I rode my 2022 Vespa GTS 300 from the UK to Azerbaijan via Cyprus. It even traversed 110 km off-road smugglers route across a mountain range in Georgia, never ever again. The Vespa 300 makes an ideal lightweight tourer and my wife even road pillion from Istanbul to Cyprus. I have always had adventure or sports bikes, but don't under estimate the Vespa.
So glad you done this small test on the Vespa, I started riding on one these many moons ago, over the years I have had many bikes including a couple of Harleys, Suzuki's and Yamahas. A couple of months ago I said to my other half I would still like to do the ride that I dream I had at age 15! Take a Vespa all the way to Italy. 70 now and finally retired and there does not seem to be a problem two up judging by your video, so I have to do this! :)
Of all the transportation methods i have, i need to admit that the Vespa is the most bang for the buck. More then fast enough, pretty reliable, low maintenance, fuel efficiant, slips you easily through trafic jams…. And it’s quite fun to ride. There’s a reason it’s my daily driver.
We got one for my wife. She loves it because it’s Matt black with red accents. It’s very pretty, but the bang for buck is horrendous compared to other scooters tbh. Buy in, servicing, parts and fuel economy are all worse Great style, but yeah, money goes a lot further with the Japanese or Korean scooters, not that my wife cares lol
@@Bobby-wn5yr i never bought my Vespa brandnew. Plenty of second hand ones in Europe. Service i do myself. Pretty easy. Can’t say that parts are more expensive compared to. Unless they are branded Vespa, then yes i agree.
@@KamBenni3 I don't own a Vespa neither a scooter. But in my street there are a couple a Vespas + of course other scooters. It's shocking to see the condition of the scooters compared with the Vespas. The plastics, the rust in the mirrors and screws, the seat... Even my wife that doesn't likes bikes even commented "how good these Vespas look after years and years under the sun, rain and all weather conditions". I would say, that's where some of the price can be justified in built quality and materials. The rest of course, it's the badge and the Vespa name.
Myself and the hubby both rented Vespas on Holidays for the week ..the last few year’s Amalfi coast one year and Tuscany the following touring around and sightseeing ..we are both bringing our own Vespa 300 Gts’s this year to Padua and then back later in the year to Barre in the south … we just love it 🥰
A friend of mine who is a subscriber to your channel sent me your video! Just watched and it's fab! I've lived here for 18+ years and haven't been brave enough to ride a scooter! But this looks easy enough and the best way to get around the mountain villages as the parking is terrible!
Thanks for the trip to Majorca, a lovely place. I had a Honda Forza which was a 300 and it had plenty of power and was much bigger than the Vespa. We have a Vespa dealer here in Cha-am, Thailand. Hope you can come back to visit again in Thailand. Thanks again.......Sal : )
Really enjoyed this as it satisfied two likes, Majorca and Vespa's. Majorca is a lovely island, a far cry from this soggy island right now. Owned two Vespa's many decades ago and loved them. An old external cable 125 and a lovely GS150. The 150 was quite buzzy, but very basic compared to this new one, but I'm sure I would miss the clutch. The 125 was a sod to start. Wish I still had it and could afford to do it up properly now, like all the vehicles I had including a 1962 Morris Mini Cooper. At the time, late 60's, it was Lambretta 150 or Vespa. Lambretta was a workhorse, but Vespa had style. The most powerful Vespa was the GS200. The video camera makes the roads look awfully narrow with those mirrors sticking out. Majorca is a great place to relax and explore and the north coast is the best. I stayed in Alcudia and even in September it was very hot and the sea warm. Ah, the smell of the warm pines and the melon sellers. Thanks for taking the time and effort to publish.
It's a sunny day in November (and just 12* C) as I'm watching this in Chapel Hill, NC. (Home of the University of North Carolina.) Planning to hop on my 125cc Honda Trail to 'Nip down to the shops' as you might say for the weekly groceries. There is a big "American Football" game at the University today, meaning traffic is dense, but a small-displacement bike is just the thing! Park up anywhere. Like you, I also have a big touring beast (Honda ST1300/Pan European) but my little Honda Trail 125 is THE machine for a slow-paced day around town, especially in this weather. Enjoyed the content, Flyer! Keep 'em coming. Cheerio!
I’ve never done any motorcycling anywhere else other than the UK but it does appeal to me all the stuff I see suggests the roads are better and the weather is always better it makes you just wanna go and do it If my wife ever gets around to doing her motorcycle license the little 300 Vespa is what I’ll probably get her 👍
Great to finally see you on a Vespa. I owned a couple of these a few years back and absolutely loved them. I've been hoping to see you try one ever since I've watched your channel. Believe it or not, I've covered more miles in a day on one of these than any other bike I've owned (400+ on more than one occasion). Great bikes...fast enough to keep up with traffic on open roads, with the ability to cut through city traffic like a knife through butter (whilst imagining you're Gregory Peck in Roman holiday), economical, cheap to insure, easy to keep clean and maintain... and timelessly stylish. If I could afford a second bike, this would be what I would own, no question.
They are ludicrous to insure. My BMW GS is £120 fully comp, I got a quote for a Vespa GTS 300, only one company would insure me and it was £700+ with a clean licence/record
Great video. Brought back some great memories for myself and my wife. We done exactly the same trip (including Valdemossa Port) on a GTS hired from Bullimoto last year. We’ve also since been back and ridden from Port de Soller down to Port de Andratx taking the same mountain road. Coincidentally my wife also has the same colour Vespa here in the UK albeit the 125cc. Hope you enjoyed the remainder of your trip on Mallorca.

I enjoyed this video! I'd love to rent a Vespa at some sunny location! That is one beautiful scooter! I like the color. And the scenery there! I must visit Mallorca some day.
Lovely vid, thank you both. Up until a year ago we lived on the edge of Greater London. I used a litre bike to travel into London when I could/had to. Unfortunately my wife wouldn't get on the back of it. Ever. So in 2018 I bought a Vespa Sei Giorni which is basically the same as the GTS just a slightly different front end. She happily sat on the back of that so we often used it to travel into town for gigs etc and also nice weekend trips into the countryside. The big bike did very little for 3 years until we moved to the Wiltshire/Somerset borders and since, the Vespa has had very little to do. I don't think I could bring myself to sell it though, such a great little machine.
Really enjoyed your video, I’m older (71) and still ride a sport bike but I think a Vespa would be fun for around the city and doing errands and the odd ride into the country.
I like how you call a scooter a bike, I have a motorcycle and a scooter and if it has two wheels and an engine then it's a bike in my book. Scooter is great commuting in the rain and I ride my inline four when it''s dry.
Lovely scenery around that part of Mallorca (our spelling of it). I was there back in the late 70's, and I most certainly visited the museum and looked at the cast version of one of Frederic Chopin's hands - seeing those long, slender fingers made me realize better how the heck he was able to play some of those near impossible pieces he created. I rode there in a bus, it took forever and a half, so I can easily see how it was a lot more comfortable and enjoyable on a scooter.
A lovely little bike, I also love Majorca, last summer the wife and I hired a Honda CB X 500 for 4 or 5 days on Corfu, great way to see an island, lovely video, I need a big red Vespa
So thrilled to see your Facebook post today about the upcoming tour series, TMF. I won't spoil the surprise for those who haven't seen it, but having lived and ridden motorcycles there for the last 16 years, I'm sure you can understand how excited I am about the upcoming series. Lovely Majorca day trip video too. Your filming, music and editing are really taking the channel to new heights. Many thanks.
What a lovely video. We were at Port Val de Mosa some years ago with the family, really nice there and not so many tourists back then. I remember also visiting Port Soller and parked the rental car in a multi story car park where I reversed into a stanchion, caused a lot of amusement with the kids.

Loved watching this on a very soggy morning in November. We love that region of Majorca and I’ve just sold my Vespa GTV300 so could happily imagine how your journey felt. I bought mine in lockdown three years ago and it was my toe back into the water of motorcycling and now have a garage full of litre bikes so the scooter had to go. It's cold and rainy in the Pacific Northwest of the USA where I live, and I now have a goal to rent a Vespa GTS300 and ride it around Majorca to replicate your trip. Great video! 🙂
That's a nice little travelogue, guys! Good on you for doing it. The only Vespa I've owned was a '58 model (?), back in 1962, a Douglas-built 125 with the gears on the left twistgrip and a dual-seat; it took a little getting used-to but was fine around town. It was replaced in '63 by a new Jawa 250.
I really enjoy watching your foreign exploits, good for the morale of the Missenden troops. I think my better half would love one of those Vespas too. I will show her the vid, see what she thinks of it. Thank you Andy.
Yep, "Sa Fortaleza" on the Bay of Pollensa-once a coastal fort but now a private residence. A British millionaire currently owns it, he paid 40 million euros-a bargain when the asking price in 2010 was 100m euros!!@@TheMissendenFlyer
Beautiful. Thank you both so much for brining us along. The cold damp grey settling in here in Ct wet leaves still hiding on the roads to watch for. Cuts into riding time
Well done guys. Knew I was going to enjoy that. Good sound, great scenery and some great backing music. Just what we needed after a whole day of rain in Blighty. Top work 👍
As I sit watching the pouring rain, I was imagining the scent of the trees and the warmth. I used to have a Vespa GTS 300 super hpe a couple of years ago, great little bike, plenty of poke off the line too and handles really well for a scooter. The only thing they don’t really like is potholes with the small wheels. You might wonder why it needs traction control, well imagine riding it on a wet cobbled road 😳 same goes for the abs. Even my SH125 Honda has traction control now with half the power for the same reason (apparently they’re big sellers in Italy) Great vid to brighten up a wet dark November day, well done Andy.
Great video on what really is a "dreary November day" (to put it mildly) - it really has brightened my day. Love that so many of the comments are from us blokes planning to show the video to our wives - you're not just doing tourist information videos, but relationship counselling, too!
Hi Carole and Andy, what a fantastic video. Brought back great memories of a family holiday in the hills just outside Valldemossa overlooking the road down to the coastal village. You’ve inspired me to go back and this time to hire a Vespa 🛵👍
Lovely place Majorca, nice way to do it as well. Last time i rode a Vespa though it was a 50cc back in the early 80’s . A 3 speed twist grip affair wearing a green fish tail Parker with a target on the back. Happy days 😊
We pulled into Palma de Mallorca back in my Navy days. It was my first and only visit to any part of Spain. I was just a young pup at the time, so it was my first experience of watching a place totally shutdown (siesta) in the middle of the day. Some of the people with me wanted to see Palm Nova, but regretfully we weren't in port long enough. Looks like I'd forgo that for the Northern area after seeing this. Well done!
Went 3 years running for a weeks cycling. 3days in hills around 75mile. 2 days 100mile. And a rest day on hired motorbike. February. Nice 20 ish deg weather and quiet😊 when you lift seat there are 2 little spigots on rim of seat pan which you can put helmet strap on and it traps helmet when you close the seat. Very usefull
Fantastic viewing and yes Mr Flyer you were absolutely correct it certainly cheered up this miserable grey and wet November day here in Manchester. Mostly your video brought back fabulous memories of a geography field trip I went on to Majorca and Soller specifically when I did my geography degree back in '88. Thanks so much.
Really enjoyed that, brought back memories. I rented a BMW r850 in 2000 and toured around the Island. It was late October, nice roads and decent weather. Five guys on 3 day rental, one guy had the 850 GS! Remember them? Well done to both of you, making a wet November in Scotland feel much better. 👏👏
Take off the Bubble Wrap(not the helmet) and enjoy the island. I’ve anted to buy this Vespa but really can’t make since of it in the city I live in in the US
Ah, Majorca, love that place. I recall having a lovely Tapa lunch on the square in Soller while we were there last April. 25 degrees and blue skies. I think we were there about the same time as you this year, weather was a bit weird but still gorgeous. ☀️
I had no idea Majorca was such a beautiful island thanks for a super film. Must show my wife this one so we can put it on our visit list. Love the colour of the Scooter, reminds me of a similar one Triumph did on the tank of (I think) the T100 (two tone with cream)
Great little vlog Mr Flyer. Have visited both Sóller and Port of Sóller on previous visits and must agree they are lovely places. Next trip I will definitely be looking into hiring a Vespa. What a fantastic way to see the island, and yes, the 300 lookes the ideal size to do that with.
Myself, my wife and daughter stayed in Alcudia about 25 years ago. I hired a Yamaha ty125 for a day and, did the north coast of the island, absolutely fabulous scenery and roads, highly recommend 👍🏍.

Cuts into riding time
Our pleasure!
Thanks for cheering up a miserable November day
That was my intent when I made this =- so glad it worked in your case!
Well done guys. Knew I was going to enjoy that. Good sound, great scenery and some great backing music. Just what we needed after a whole day of rain in Blighty. Top work 👍
Great video, lovely island to visit, but it was 82 for me. Stayed in Santa Ponza.
Right, great job, well done, you just put another place on my ever growing list of places to visit. 😵💫
Absolutely beautiful! 🤗
Glad you enjoyed it!
Even my SH125 Honda has traction control now with half the power for the same reason (apparently they’re big sellers in Italy)
Great vid to brighten up a wet dark November day, well done Andy.
Thank you - glad to help!
Well done; an episode that would make Richy Vida proud!
Great video on what really is a "dreary November day" (to put it mildly) - it really has brightened my day. Love that so many of the comments are from us blokes planning to show the video to our wives - you're not just doing tourist information videos, but relationship counselling, too!
Excellent news!
Hi Carole and Andy, what a fantastic video. Brought back great memories of a family holiday in the hills just outside Valldemossa overlooking the road down to the coastal village. You’ve inspired me to go back and this time to hire a Vespa 🛵👍
Brilliant!
Excellent camera work 18:26 Flyer!
😘
Scooter's are awsome, my Yamaha XMax 300 carts my bulky 130kg's at 130kmh if needed. 😮
Agreed!
Lovely place Majorca, nice way to do it as well. Last time i rode a Vespa though it was a 50cc back in the early 80’s . A 3 speed twist grip affair wearing a green fish tail Parker with a target on the back. Happy days 😊
Great place Soller. Hiked up that hill, great walk. The smell of smoke in the villages in the evenings is nostalgic.
Yes - particularly if you go this time of year when the tourists have gone and the smoke hangs in the town.....
Very usefull
great video, my mother was form Mallorca. Living in Canada and winter coming soon, I am jealous! I hope you enjoyed some of the ,local cuisine.
Sure did!
Oh cool - so glad you saw the video.....
I have a Vespa 250 and love it. I use it around town and my Speed Twin out in the countryside. I hardly use my car at all anymore.
Beautiful 😊
💯 with you on.the coffee ice-cream 😁
Really enjoyed that, brought back memories. I rented a BMW r850 in 2000 and toured around the Island. It was late October, nice roads and decent weather. Five guys on 3 day rental, one guy had the 850 GS! Remember them? Well done to both of you, making a wet November in Scotland feel much better. 👏👏
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great scenery. Enjoyed the trip with you guys.
Thanks for coming!
Lovely when we were there.....
That video was very well done !! Great editing and music choice !!
Thank you very much!
I had no idea Majorca was such a beautiful island thanks for a super film. Must show my wife this one so we can put it on our visit list. Love the colour of the Scooter, reminds me of a similar one Triumph did on the tank of (I think) the T100 (two tone with cream)
Yes that's the colour! ....and yes, do show the Mrs, gret place to explore on two wheels....
How lovely was that😊fantastic ❤
Awesome! First time I rented a scooter was in Mallorca! Then I decided I should get one! Love it! 😅 Those roads in Sierra Tramuntana are awesome!
They sure are - so good they named a GS after them!
Great video.
Sometimes, a day out on a scooter can be perfect.
One of your best yet. I love the travel videos and local info. It was like a Missenden Flyer meets Freddie Dobbs video. Keep up the good work 👍🥂
Glad you enjoyed it!
What a fab watch this was on a wet November evening! I would love to have a Vespa - would complement my GS perfectly for zipping round town 👍
Fantastic video, kudos to Mrs Flyer and yourself! Cunningly timed as well as it is perfectly suited to contrast an absolutely dreadful November day.
Yes that part of my planning worked a treat!
Myself, my wife and daughter stayed in Alcudia about 25 years ago. I hired a Yamaha ty125 for a day and, did the north coast of the island, absolutely fabulous scenery and roads, highly recommend 👍🏍.
Brilliant - been a while since I went to Alcudia (opposite end of the island).....
Lucky man , I love Majorca , great roads and people 👍👍
Great place and lovely video
Loving the Vespa
Yours Mrs does look cool in her helmet 😊😊😊 👌😎
Good innit....
@@TheMissendenFlyer certainly is 👌👌
