@@MichaelWilliam-yn8md Yeah, I thought maybe this was a rerun because I remembered that happening before. Pretty disappointing! With gadgeteer and zirda you can even think about getting the eldrazi in there.
Sweet, finish an LSV vintage cube draft and immediately find a Reid vintage cube draft to wash it down with. Lmao, “They forgot my piece of power” to open the video. Too good. What a day to double dip on cubing.
Prioritizing staying on color over pure power level early in cube is a big mistake imo. Solitude is so much better than TNN that P1P2, taking Solitude seemed like a no brainer to me.
Yeah, I thought the same thing, and UW tempo/flicker/midrange was clearly wide open in that pack with the late Tundra and Hallowed Fountain and the Flickerwisp wheeling. By the same token, having passed all that UW in P1, I think P2P1 then becomes a really easy Bolt.
@@l0ey Dismissing constructive criticism/analysis just because the other player is worse than you is a pretty easy way to stop improving. Even great players make mistakes and worse players can spot mistakes, especially when you have the time for analysis after the fact as compared to playing in the moment on a timer. Reid is by no means infallible at cube. I also agree this was a mistake, there's a clear gulf in power between Solitude and TNN.
Being excited about Thopter Foundry coming around is kinda clownshoes after passing Basalt monolith when you already have Zirda and Forensic Gadgeteer...
The more i look at it i think its a big miss not to take portal when you have workshop and mana vault and urza seems like a slam dunk, nice interaction and can solidify the creature light approach by bringing their creatures back . This deck could have easily hard cast it. At worst it would have been a sweet sideboard in creature match ups. To focused on have to have tinker.... workshop basically a free roll since your mono blue heavy artifacts already
exactly what I came to say... also casting it early makes the combo go easier/faster since the topping makes a token and don't have to bother doing sword too
1:12:52 why evoke when you can cast and have the same number of blockers here? Lets you have another creature next turn and keeps mana leak. would've still died but hey
With how combo centric the cube is now days, how sweet would it be of they added a demonstrate loop option- record my next game actions and repeat x times unless interacted with so you dont have to eat a bunch of clock up on combos/ triggers etc..
Was gunna say when picking up shelly that it's not always good only really when you get to cheat a bit but hey it's early can pick stuff up and then think forgot it was in cause never seemed to consider that on picks. Like is it really worth it if you are spending 2 mana and putting a tap land in to maybe if you are lucky and fulfill the requirements cast a 5 drop off it?
Worried about how you might look picking fractured over foundry then proceeding to pick talisman over monolith immediately after picking gadgeteer - what am I watching hahaha
Players get to caried away with having to feel like they have to companion zirda, in this instance it is fine to just main deck it. Same things go for lurrus even though it is easier to companion it and i would rather do it but especially lurrus i find a way to get it in if possible as it is just nuts in most decks that can abuse it
Why not play workshop? And should have slammed that portal. Also even debating that p3p3 was crazy that was a windmill slam Kappa ! To bad coveted jewel was the pack before workshop even though not a whole lot of ways to protect it. I am not as hugh on fractured identity anymore but this deck does have the mana for it
M1G3 naming Zuran Orb with Revoker was a poor play, any of his planeswalkers were a better option and Dack in particular is the worst against your deck.
I would have taken the Mox over the Lotus with what you had going. There was no guarantee you'd be playing Kozilek at that point and my only justification for Lotus otherwise would be t2 Jace.
for all the people talking about the basalt monolith gadgeteer infinite mana, thopter foundry urza just wins the game he does not have a balista or something for all that mana
You actually get infinite mana with the basalt monolith and the gadgeteer not just zirda. That would’ve been great for this deck
I think Reid has passed that 2x since that card has come out idk if it’s on his immediate radar
You can also infinite life and tokens with thopter sword
Came here to say this hahaha this deck also would've made great use of that infinite mana
That was so heartbreaking. It's perfect and easy infinite mana.
@@MichaelWilliam-yn8md Yeah, I thought maybe this was a rerun because I remembered that happening before. Pretty disappointing! With gadgeteer and zirda you can even think about getting the eldrazi in there.
with urza, some of the time black lotus is on-color mox. so you take it.

Total whoosh on the infinite mana with Gadgeteer and Basalt Monolith.
08:29 easiest bolt of my life
I agree with the sapphire pick. The long-term stability is greater than the one-time explosiveness of the lotus in this deck
Sapphire was 100% the pick there. Good choice
Came here to say this
Agreed. (Young) Veteran move.
Mox Sapphire is my pick in that spot. Being an artifact matters deck means you want it to stick around.

that's cool but keep in mind you're not Reid duke
@@l0ey Nothing wrong with giving his opinion, Reid literally invited commentary in the comments.

Bro next to Reid going into pick#2 and getting a Lotus 😂😂😂😂

55:19 play saheeli and make an artifact a copy of the construct for lethal?

If this is a real life vintage cube draft where you keep the cards, I’m taking the lotus 😂
That orzhov deck was awesome to see in action
1:12:52 why evoke when you can cast and have the same number of blockers here? Lets you have another creature next turn and keeps mana leak. would've still died but hey
Thought Scout over third path iconoclast is wild to me. That card is SO GOOD with urza.

Ain’t no way Reid doesn’t know what gadgeteer does 🤣

I’m more surprised he didn’t take senseis top since he had mystic forge and mishras
and when you get to keep the card? then what do you pick Reid?
I think we can agree if Thopter Foundry didn't say nontoken artifact it would Definetly create some problems
Omg I didn't think reid could talk that fast haha
Reid should get some LSV coaching
P2 p1 is bolt
imagine getting passed a lotus
I was iffy on it but would have gone with lotus. You fool!
Reid Duke with a Mox Sapphire, best combo
Worried about how you might look picking fractured over foundry then proceeding to pick talisman over monolith immediately after picking gadgeteer - what am I watching hahaha
Didnt read the new card

This guy is considered a pro
True
Woulda thought he knew about basalt/gadgeteer. He needs some lessons from LSV.
M1G3 naming Zuran Orb with Revoker was a poor play, any of his planeswalkers were a better option and Dack in particular is the worst against your deck.
bruh gadget monolith missed infinte mana
Turn 1 nemesis, urza, sahili, etc. How was it not lotus? lol

Lotus every time
Urza.
Lotus IS a Mox sapphire already. Always bonus mode.
