Elvis recorded approximately 700 songs. He sold about 1 Billion records. He can sing everything. Gospel was his personal favorite to sing.He could rock the planet with rock and roll or bring tears to your eyes and goosebumps with his ballads. He also sang country .He had a 3 octave range and had no formal singing training. He taught himself to play the guitar and piano. He could not read music..he played by ear only.
I had the privilege to see Elvis in concert 1976. I was only 7 years old. I remember everything. It was like seeing God walk on stage for a little lad like me. He was larger than life in person. I never heard so many women scream and cry. So many flash bulbs going off looked like a strobe light in the Coliseum. I've never witnessed anything like it since. It was beyond magical. I witnessed greatness from the most generous person. He gave himself to everyone. All he wanted was to be loved and wanted. I feel he got that in many ways. A precious gift from above.
