The walk from the 12th-century castle known as Newcastle, the route heads south from Bridgend past the old Dipping Bridge to Merthyr Mawr village and Ogmore Castle.
The extra walk is from Ogmore Castle over the Merthyr Mawr sand dunes to Newton Beach Porthcawl.
The walk is about 3.5 miles 5.5 km in length (one way) and it takes about an hour.
The extra walk to Porthcawl will make the walk 7.5 miles / 12 km in total and should take just over 2 hours.

I get so homesick watching these 🙁
Another great walk Marcus. What a great area we live in. The main points you show where you change direction is a great help. Keep up the good work.
Glad it was helpful!
Great video, sure look like a lot of changes since I left P'wl in the 80's. My dogs favourite treat was swimming at the dipping bridge great memories
Yes, a lot has changed.
Hi Marcus, awesome live video walk tour, I enjoyed it. Beautiful view and historical. How are you doing? I'm doing well. Have a great day see you next video 😊
We're all fine thanks

I live about a 5 minute walk from Newcastle Castle. Also if you had walked through Newbridge Fields there is an Underpass under the A48 which negates having to cross the road. It comes out close to the field before the Dipping Bridge.
Thanks for the tip 👍
Did a super circular walk from Merthyr Mawr to Ogmore Castle and back via the Dipping Bridge, Whitney Farm and Candleston Castle on Saturday. Surely the most underrated area for walking in the country!
Agree. I did see your walk on Instagram (it was an Elvis free zone).
@@marcuswalks I strongly considered popping over to the festival afterwards but thought I may spend more time trying to park than actually taking it in!
You need to go to gnoll park in neath !!! It's lovely, me and my partner go all the time
I have been looking at that area. Haven't had time lately but hope to explore soon.
