    Thanks for this review. I'm going to order one. I have a Samsung Q900R that has the One Connect Box. It only has 1 hdmi 2.1 port. Not only is it a hassle physically switching the PS5 and Xbox Series X cables from the box, it sometimes messes with the output settings for that port on the TV. This for me seems like a very good solution to fix that.

    I've had one of these since I got my Sony OLED last year, the device works great! For me, I don't have to connect the USB cable as it gets enough power from the consoles, it's been running like that for the last 6 months thereabouts.

    Thanks for the video my Canadian man! Giving you a shout out from Toronto. I have a Samsung QN90A and only have the 1 HDMI 2.1 port after I also use my Earc for surround. Hard to think that a 5K tv after warranty doesn’t have all 4 ports in 2.1. BUT I’d rather have a super bright gorgeous picture tv over a LG C1 that got burn in playing Spider-Man on my PS5 after 4-5 hours play. I subbed also and keep pumping these videos. You have a great presentation and explain things in ways that we all understand them. I think I’m grabbing this switcher for my Series X and PS5 also.

    • @qwazyd0gg

      Thanks so much Scott! This switcher is certainly a hidden gem for those of us with a modern TV with limited ports. I just purchased a Denon S760H receiver with 3 40gbps ports, so I no longer need the switch myself; however, a $50 solution is much better than a $800+ solution for most people for sure

    Nice video man! You haven't had any issues with the picture cutting in and out at all? I've had 2 different switches, one of which was an Insignia brand and had really good reviews. Both have had issues going to a black screen periodically. Just want to make sure this doesn't happen with this one? I've also tried multiple HDMI cables and it's always the same result. BTW, is there a particular HDMI 8K cable you recommend from Amazon that is certified and won't break the bank? Thank you!

    • @qwazyd0gg
      @qwazyd0gg  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Matt! I haven’t had this switch too long, but I’ve played probably about an hour of NHL 2022, couple hours of Far Cry 6, couple hours of Forza, and a couple hours of Fortnite and I have had NO issues what so ever across my Series X or PS5 so far. No dips in audio, no weird glitches with VRR, and my CEC has always engaged providing I had left the correct input enabled with the manual switch. For cables, I’m using almost exclusively UGreen cables from Amazon. I have 3 10 foot 8K cables in my rotation and each has been solid for me so far!

    Why does everyone say not to use an HDMI cable longer then 3 meters (9ft)? I need at least a 15-30ft cable to connect one to my monitor and one to my TV but I don’t want to pull the trigger on this until I find out if I’m able to use a cable 30ft long or not. I would really appreciate a reply, thank you!

    • @qwazyd0gg

      Anything 10ft and above is typical labeled “up to 48gbps”, meaning the longer lengths can degrade signal strength, resulting in potential loss in functionality. I’ve successfully used 10ft UGreen cables, but I would be hesitant going any longer unless you can find an “active” cable that usually runs off a power source.

      Unfortunately no device will upconvert your hdmi 2.0 to 2.1. This simply splits a single hdmi 2.1 into 2 separate ports. If you plug it into a 2.0 port then it will only run at 2.0 spec.

I don’t know why it happens, but it does.
