  • If you've been luck y enough to snag more than one modern HDMI 2.1 device in 2022 such as an Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5, RTX 3000 GPU, and more, then you're probably struggling with a lack of HDMI 2.1 ports on your modern display. This Llano Bi-Directional 8K switch can help!
    Purchase Link (Affiliate): geni.us/SwykJa
    Llano 48Gbps 8K Bi-Directional Switch serves two major purposes...
    1st: This switch can easily convert your single HDMI 2.1 port on your modern display into two ports, which are both capable of all your next-generation needs. Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), Auto Low Latency (ALLM), up to 8K/60Hz, up to 4K/120Hz, up to 1080P/240Hz, Dolby Atmos sound, and much more is fully utilized on this switch thanks to it's 3 full bandwidth HDMI 2.1 ports. This means you can connect two next-generation devices into the dual ports, and run a single HDMI 2.1 connection out from the other, effectively creating two connections out of a single input.
    2nd: Being Bi-Directional means that this will also work in an inverse fashion. By plugging an HDMI 2.1 device into the single input on one side, you can then run that same signal out to two independent displays (However, not at the same time). This means if you multitask between displays often, such as a gaming monitor and a productivity monitor, you no longer have to unplug your HDMI connection every time. Instead, simply press the button on the top of the Llano 8K Bi-Directional 48Gbps HDMI 2.1 Switch, and the switch will do the magic for you!
    Now a couple of points to mention here. This is a manual switch, meaning you have to physically press the button on the top side of the switch every time you wish to change the input. This switch does not switch itself using CEC, meaning it will not automatically switch to the active input/output, and instead will remain on the last actively used input until you yourself change it. Finally, there is no remote control, so I would recommend placing this in a location that is easily accessible for manually switching.
    Speaking of needing to be accessible, that shouldn't be a problem thanks to the overall looks of this Llano 8K HDMI 2.1 Switch. Unlike other bulky and cheaply manufactured devices I've seen online, the Llano switch has a very small footprint, pleasant appearance, and rugged overall build quality, which means you shouldn't have to worry about hiding it away as an eye-sore in your otherwise aesthetically pleasing setup.

    Great video! You mentioned it doesn't automatically switch depending on which console you turn on (ps5 & xsx in your example). That you have to manually push the button. Are there any devices out like this one that DO? I'm not so lazy that it'd be a deal-breaker lol, but I'm just curious. I'm also curious if input lag would be affected.

    • @qwazyd0gg
      @qwazyd0gg  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I haven’t seen any that automatically switch just yes. I would assume adding the CEC control would add bulk and cost to the manufacturing process, and in fact, I haven’t even seen any that offer a remote to switch the inputs. I have no measuring tools; however, I don’t “feel” any added delay with the input lag with or without either of the two units I’ve tested like this in the past.

      Technically 1440p 120hz is supported via hdmi 2.0 thanks to lower bandwidth requirements. The main issues typically falls with the input or output device. Some older monitors won’t enable 120hz 1440p outside of DP connections, and some output devices such as the Xbox Series S will have output of 120hz at 1440p soft-locked via software, even though it is possible via hdmi 2.0.

    They could be wrong, just want to get your expert opinion on what to do

    • @qwazyd0gg
      @qwazyd0gg  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You don’t need 2.1 for Atmos, and a 1650 can only do max 4K/60Hz, so bandwidth should be an issue at all. Windows 11 may throw a wrench in requirements though and that I am not familiar with.
      The main issue is you can’t have both of the ports active at once, so this switch won’t help if you’re trying to go out from your gpu and into both your soundbar and tv at the same time. If your soundbar has hdmi passthrough, you would want to go straight from the gpu to the soundbar, then from the soundbar to the monitor. If this isn’t the case, since a monitor doesn’t have ARC, you may be stuck.

      @@qwazyd0gg Hooked it up to my Series X and PS5. The Xbox worked fine including the surround sound. Switched it to my ps5 and noticed it was in stereo only. Now the surround sound isn't working on either system. Now after I unhooked this thing we can't get surround to come back on.

    Hello. Can I use that with my hdmi2.0 monitör With vrr and allm? My cable is hmdi 2.1.

      You can but it will cap the bandwidth to match your monitors hdmi 2.0 speeds, meaning you won’t get 120hz/4k

      @@qwazyd0gg Thank you for anwsering. My monitör is 1080p. Can I get 1080p? Or if I had 1hdmi 2.1 and conwerting to displayport (not the low quality cheap ones) it wil support vrr+allm 1080p/120hz?

    • @qwazyd0gg
      @qwazyd0gg  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@YenilmezIsHere 1080p/120hz is possible via hdmi 2.0 on newer monitors; however, some older models will only support 120hz via DP. You can try forcing the resolution in windows and/or your GPU control panel. As for ALLM and vrr, it all depends on the monitors specs as again some support this via their onboard Hindi controller while others only support via DP. In all cases this switch will pass all signals up to the specifications of the device it’s connected to

      @@qwazyd0gg I mean the ps5. My pc has no issue. But on my ps5 there is no vrr and allm. But there is 120hz. That's the issue. I search on the forums to much and they saying it will work with hdmı 2.1 and dp converter. And I'm still nervous to order one. What is your Idea about it?

      @YenilmezIsHere really unsure tbh but if you order from Amazon you can always return if it fails to meet expectations

      Yes, but only up to 4k/60hz which is the max spec of hdmi 2.0
