Oh that royal sardine. Sardine, sardine you have saved my life. In the days of blinding snow and all stores were closed the mighty sardine was there. The time when my father died and we had no money the reliable sardine was there. Oh sardine, sardine i love you so. I will follow you wherever you go. Its been 32 years of our love affair. And i'm happy to know that you're still here. I have a new born child, and i will make sure the Brunswick sardine is by her side..... An ode to the Brunswick sardine. May you live forever. I open the can and drink the sweet, salty oil.
On the topic of canned fish, has Brunswick canned Herring become replaced by Sardines? On the store shelves here, Brunswick fish products are labeled as Sardines, have the Herring become unavailable?
I have several tins of Brunswick deenz with jalapeno in my pantry. They are a most excellent mid tier sardine along with Polar and King Oscar. I also enjoy the top tier of sardines and have in my pantry many tins of Nuri, Bela, Matiz, and Ramon Pena. I just love good quality sardines and don't mind paying more. They're worth every penny. I had a tin of Matiz yesterday I splooged with sriracha that was outstanding. And now because of this video, I reckon I'll enjoy a tin of the Brunswick's here in a bit. Maybe wash them down with a Paulaner Octoberfest bier. Thats a meal right there!
I had noticed that the Brunswick sardines I normally bought were now labelled Made in Poland. A bit of research today came up with the following - "Freedom Foods Group acquired the Brunswick business in 2005 and since then, we’ve been leading the way in canned sardines. Our Brunswick Foods business focuses on providing you with quality Wild Caught sardines from the pristine waters of Canada and off the Atlantic Coast of Poland. " Freedom foods also own a number of other wellknown brands sold here in Australia. Always unfortunate when a great smaller company gets gobbled up by a conglomerate. Let's hope sustainability remains their mantra.
They get so many truckloads at a time you would pass out if you see how big the hole is . They come to usa follow they fish to a point usually Rhode Island is the end in winter summer Maine. Boats that get a load everyday 14 to 25 truckloads at around 45,000 . They can't get enough to fill it most of are sardines was goin to lobster bait . Each lobster boat big guys 20 bushel a day . Myself I loaded just 1 summer everyday 60,000 in Portland brought it to winter harbor . What makes no sense they bought beach cliff out and shut down 1 of the best factories Poland probably cheaper
Sad that this company is no longer owned by Connor Brothers. I'm not even sure their sardines are from the Bay of Fundy anymore. Brunswick sardines were a staple in many New Brunswick homes.
Brunswick sardines aren't just from New Brunswick. The word sardine means little fish and has to be under four inches. Anything bigger is a herring. They get these sardines all over the world so I was told by their head office service department/ Won't be eating them ever again
'Fished from the cold, crystal clear waters of the upper reaches of the North Atlantic.' This seems like this video tells only half 'The Brunswick Sardine Story.' The Brunswick 'wild caught' sardines we buy here in Australia are 'made in Poland.' Could we get the rest of the story with, perhaps, a follow-up video of the Polish weirs and facilities producing Brunswick sardines?
Awesome show ❤ I worked for Stinson Canning 50 years ago in Belfast Maine ❤
Great video, thank you!
Brownswick sardines are very good
The sardines that these guys can are unbelievable. Nobody else compares.
Are you serious? What other brands have you tried?

Poland has no Atlantic coast.

You’re not getting our precious sardines. Whatever Poland is giving you is fine!

There is no such fish as sardine, they are small herring
55 types of young fish are exploited. I eat one can a day.
I believe any small herring is a sardine. No?
