    Is Maya LT still a thing? I thought they would kill it and just do Maya Indie licenses.

      it is confusing to me too they have both for the same price but for some reason, Maya indie is not available in all countries. but converting it to Mel will make it faster anyway. what do you think are they going to kill the LT?

    With the new release of the DNA calbration for metahumans (using python) , does this bring it closer to getting some sort of Bridge to Maya to Blender or Unreal to Blender path? Like if blender could read the "DNA" of a metahuman - like applying a preset and have it all working in blender?

      actually, it seems there's not much demand for the metahuman for blender, and spending time on it doesn't make sense. since I released this to my surprise no one got excited and I think epic games also won't release anything for blender so don't hold your breath

    I agree with you about Blender being "free".
    I started using Blender in 2007 and to this day I have like 30 different addons from the Blender Marketplace, it's not only the cost of buying premium addons (for making Blender a usable production tool), its also the massive amount of time you are going to waste learning a lot of random $$$ addons that are not actually integrated with each other.
    Blender is awesome, but you also need to understand the weaknesses.

      As someone thats pretty new to 3d software would maya be your choice as well? Will maya still cover everything blender is capable of but better?

      @@krown466 Maya is the animation industry standard and if you want to do animation you have to go with Maya almost all animation movies are made by Maya but if your goal is other things like arch vis, motion graphics, VFX, then other apps are better for those. regarding learning Maya, in fact, it's the easiest app to learn because there are thousands of free resources that with them you can learn every bit of it. either you are new or not learning other things is just a waste of time and energy

      Hi no it's not just exporting I rigged it for blender and then I wrote a srcipt for it to work

      GPU memory basically which right now it's not a problem anymore although redshift supports out-of-core you don't want to go out of core

    any chance you know how to transfer metahuman body rig to motion builder? Body corrective joints setup is based on RBF nodes, and it should be supported by motion builder, the question is how to transfer it correctly
    maybe somehow export data from RBF nodes to a json, then recreate it in MB🤔🤔🤔

    I disagree about how buggy blender can be compared to Maya. I use blender now for most projects and I used to have much more problems with bugs and instabilities using maya. It is getting way years ahead know in my opinion.

    1) Use drivers, not python?
    2) sorry, but the reason you think blender sucks is careless. Put your money where you want improvement. Blender actually improves. There are no shareholders to appease with a profit margin. The money hires talent to improve blender.

      no, I think it's intended. I don't how to disable it or what it is the proper way of using the code but it being slow is because blender is slow
