I am now obsessed with the mini appliance. I love your videos and you show case that these cook so many things. You are giving single people the ability to cook amazing dishes without leftovers. 😋
I go one pot: 1 cup pasta, 1 cup water, 1/2 cup tomato sauce, and some chopped up sausage all cooked at once. For chicken and white sauce pasta I use one cup pasta, 3/4 cup water, 1/4 cup milk, a can of chunk chicken rinsed and some cream cheese at the end. Also done chicken pasta with frozen vegetables, curry powder or tandoori spice, and a dollop of yogurt at the end.
@@CounterCooking Yep! The instruction booklet I have for it has a recipe for pasta and broccoli with cheese sauce that I use with a small pasta like elbow or rotini. But I can do a serving with sausage and tomato sauce instead. My main thing though is rice cooked with broth, meat, frozen vegetables and spices. Usually a fresh cocktail tomato and sometimes curry powder and an ice cube of coconut milk.
Love love love this ❤❤❤👌👍🙏☕ perfect. Mine arrived yesterday and I made a right mess, but this is a recipe I do on a large scale and freeze, but I love the option you shared, especially when there is no room in the freezer for lots. Thank you so much for sharing 👌
I love the lil colander. It’s so cute! I just saw one at Walmart and thought how it would be almost useless until I saw you use it. Perfect for the minis…newbie to the mini world. Thanks for all the videos. They are great and very helpful.
When you make pasta in your rice cooker you use the cup and measure 1 to one one cup water 1 cup pasta put both in at the same time, no draining required I even put my pasta sauce in at the same time, comes out perfect
Thank you, I just used the cup provided, measured & added pasta. Took less than one cycle, water evaporated. Added seasoning, cheese. Delicious! Made it using a power station camping. Next time I'll add a veggie with pasta!
I'm looking for ways to use the dash mini griddle and rice cooker while camping in my car. The dishes you are making are amazing! Thank you for cooking so many different things! Love your videos!!
@@rustykatt3870 The rice cooker works great using my solar generator! I bought a stainless steel pot that she recommended that fits into the rice cooker, and I've used it to make homemade soup, chili, noodles, rice, etc. I use the griddle mostly for chaffles, which are easy to make. These work well for one person. Cheers to you! 😃
Thank you for the video (and the others as well). I have a couple of Mini counter cooking items and they will be for my van. Perfect size and also portion control! Bless and enjoy life!
Using the mini rice cooker for various innovative ideas, the low wattage allows us to cook most recipes on a 500 watt solar generator which is excellent.
I wonder if this would be good for making taco meat in there. I am a sight challenged woman who lives in a studio apartment, and I looooooooooooooooooooooooooove to make my own tacos! Unfortunately I can't use the stove without sighted help, so I wonder if this would be a great alternative. I even make my own taco seasoning from scratch!
@@CounterCooking I also wonder if cooking Malt-O-Meal would work in this machine. It's basically a hot cereal that's similar in texture and grind to Cream Of Wheat. I usually cook it in the microwave with 4 cups of boiled water (I boil the water in an electric kettle) to ⅔ cup of Malt-O-Meal. I hope it will work this way, since it seems that cooking it in the microwave makes a lot of steam in the interior, which eventually pools up on the bottom of the microwave, and I worry that it might short something out that's important in the machine.
@@MsAussie83 I would think it would work in the rice cooker. I've never heard of Malt-O-Meal before. One of the reasons I use these little appliances is because I hate using a microwave and avoid it whenever possible.
@@CounterCooking If ya don't mind me askin', what's your Email address? If you like, you can send me an email, and I'll send you a reply with the link to Malt-O-Meal. How's that sound to you?
@@CounterCooking What would the ratio of meat be? Usually my American mom helps me cook the meet in a cast iron pan, but if I was to do it myself, I would like to try the Dash Mini Rice Cooker. Usually when my American mom helps me make taco meat, she'll let the meat brown, then she adds warm water to the pan to make the meat moist. This way the home style taco seasoning that I make will have something to hold on to. If you know what I mean. How would I do this in the Dash Mini Rice Cooker? I usually make a pound of taco meat. Or maybe it's two pounds, I'm not exactly sure.
I got a 1.8L hot pot earlier this week that I'm using for pasta which works quite well. Was thinking of getting a rice cooker but not sure if I'd need one now. I can definitely say slow cookers turn pasta to mush because the timing is just too difficult to pin down.
I just got a mini rice cooker at a HomeGoods store an hour away from me because my HomeGoods store probably didn’t have it. Was actually there trying to find the mini grill but they didn’t have that they had the mini griddle in the mini waffle maker and I already have the mini waffle maker.
I noticed after watching several rice cooker recipe videos, a lot of people have the same kind of rice cooker, different brands of course. The glass lid you take off as opposed to the hinged lid and the only button is " cook" and " warm" so I don't think you can steam or even cook brown rice . I have an Aroma brand rice cooker and I got the one with "White Rice "Brown Rice" a feature I never use cause I hate brown rice "Steam " "Keep Warm" If anyone has a rice cooker, is yours simple like in the video, do you have one like mine or did you splurge and get one with all the bells and whistles?
Yeah, with any of the Dash appliances, you have to heat them up for awhile to burn off any chemical residue from the non-stick coatings before using them for the first time.
@CounterCooking your entire point is making a meal with a small rice cooker. Okay? I'm stating this point is possible but it's a time waster. Who has time to spend an hour to make a single meal? That's my point you clearly missed. You may as well make a video cooking with a candle, it's the same result. I enjoy your other videos, but this one needs your conclusion whether it has value or not. In my opinion and others who try this will later conclude that no one has time for this kind of cooking.
This is painful to watch. I get that this is Counter Top cooking but just use a single induction burner and a pot. Same foot print but better suited for the task at hand.
you have missed the entire point of the video. You also don’t understand the purpose of this channel. I suggest you educate yourself before leaving ignorant, stupid, and rude comments.
This seems like so much extra time spent cooking. Doesn't really seem worth it if you did this every day IMO. Just cook one big batch and you're set for days.
You’ve missed the entire point of this video! You can’t cook one big batch of pasta if all you have is a Dash mini rice cooker. If someone is traveling and they have no place to store leftovers there’s no reason to cook one big batch.
I love your idea about dividing your meat in 4 oz. portions!

Romano cheese would be perfect!! I love Romano! Anyway, I just ordered a mini rice cooker. Are you still using yours??
Yes. I use it often
Great recipe, thank you.
Doesn't the rice cooker switch to warm after awhile? Do you simply turn it on "cook" again?
It only switches to warm after all of the water has cooked out of it.
I love the mini colander. Where did you find it?
I got it in a set of children’s pots and pans at IKEA
looks good
Where did you get that colander
I got it at IKEA as part of a child's play set. Here's the link - www.ikea.com/us/en/p/duktig-5-piece-toy-cookware-set-stainless-steel-color-00130167/
