I only shop every three months. Since my kids were in middle school, I posted a monthly meal schedule on the fridge. It was flexible if we wanted to go out or something. 🤣now that my kids are all grown up, I make fully cooked freezer meals and desserts. We just do grab and go.
Wow this was incredible. I meal prep every week because I do have medical issues where I can’t cook so I don’t have to rely on processed foods or takeout. I always make a pot of soup so I end up with a variety of soups. They seem to freeze the best! Thank you for your inspiration!❤
The nice thing about doing these all in one day is that you've got variety for the rest of the month. You don't have to eat the same breakfast, snack, and lunch 5 days in a row, which gets reallllllyyyyy boring by day 3.
Gosh, it looks like you have recovered from your illness and you look amazing. You look like you just got back from vacation-where you left everybody else at home😊🌴
I get tired making a week's worth of food in one day , I can not imagine doing a month. I am impressed. I agree Mushrooms are delicious and nutritious yum
I’ve mentioned before that I’m disabled & lately I’ve been having a hard time. This is a good reminder of things I can do to make mornings easier sending the hubby off to work. These look so satisfying. The oatmeal cookies look great, but I’m never satisfied with sweet breakfast-it just feels like a breakfast appetizer 😂. I also like toe tumeric in the tofu, makes it look like eggs.
With limited freezer space I have gotten some of those freezer silicone cubes. They’re really nice because then you can put them in either a freezer bag after their frozen solid or use a vacuum sealer. Take up much less space.
WOW what a ton of work on the front end but SO MUCH time-saving on the back end! Excellent work Maria! I’ve never thought of Philly cheesesteak as a bowl-definitely trying that!
Years ago, an elderly spinster neighbour who had been a nurse used to do a prep meals before she went into hospital for surgeries (3 hip replacements, eye surgeries) she would use little plastic plates and make little triangle sandwiches and put on each plate, wrapped in plastic. She would make up some casseroles and put them in single serve containers. She also put a couple of loaves of bread for toast in the morning. She did not have a microwave oven so she took the items out the night before to thaw in the fridge. She would have tins of fruit to cover her fruit requirements and they were served cold anyway. She was fiercely independent woman. She worked her tail off. This was in a suburb of Melbourne, Australia. in the 80s and 90s. She used to take classes at the University of the Third Age (Usually history classes) , maintained a beautiful garden and lived in the original 1946 home. She had a small wood burning stove which she used and cut her own wood to fit. (house was not centrally heated or cooled, just a fan.) She looked after her mother for years, often working three jobs- She worked as a maternal and baby health care nurse, sold Tupperware and took in typing.
It's funny that you showed the sheet pan pancakes, I'm horrible at making regular pancakes, so I started making the sheet pan pancakes several years ago, and no one believed me that they are so fluffy!! It's crazy how good they are too! Thank you for sharing all your recipes, I will share this with others who need recipes for batch cooking. ❤❤
Yes, I love mushrooms. Once my chef brother gave me 5lbs mushrooms to make soup for both us.I found a great recipe. Best soup either had ever had. I still make it today. Dont remember where I got that mushroom soup recipe. Im really happy to get all your meal prep ideas. Thank you- God bless from grandma Katie in Oregon
I understand being sick for a long time. I’ve been sick literally since Christmas night. It took weeks to find out I had E Coli then I got Covid which I still have. To say it’s been a rough last month is an understatement. I’m just trying to survive and looking towards brighter days soon! It’s hard when you have kids and there is still things you have to do whether you feel like it or not. I’m glad your back and feeling better!
This is the first video I see of yours. I LOVE THIS VID. I recently moved in with my boyfriend and have been struggling to meal prep a whole week for 2 people. These large recipes work PERFECT for me😁
I love mushrooms, but my husband hates them. I don’t cook with them very often due to that. The block cheese is better for you since there isn’t any coating on it like there is on the pre-shredded. You worked very hard on this Maria and I so appreciate it!❤
I’m glad you liked it! Mushrooms are probably one of my favorite foods. I need to eat more of them. I often make some up to put on food after the fact so I don’t make the whole family eat them 😀
If you like overnight oats, you would probably like chia seed pudding. Very similar ingredients and method, but the texture makes it seem more like a dessert. And chia seeds have alot of good nutrition. We make them more than overnight oats now.
Thanx for the ideas. I am new here on your channel from south africa. I love meal prepping then i can go on with my daily schedule. But new ideas are great
Omg the banana bread, the muffins and the hash brown casserole looks delicious. Do you store everything you cooked in the freezer? How would you reheat the meals to eat them? I only made stews and beans to put in the freezer. I never tried anything else.
Yes, everything in the freezer except what we are eating the first week. I just pull the lunches out of the freezer into the fridge the night before then microwave them for 2-3 minutes day of depending how defrosted they are. The muffins, eggs, oatmeal, and pancakes defrost really well in the fridge. Then just heat for a minute in the microwave 😀. I like to toast the bagel bites.
This is great, and you're saving so much money by making it from scratch, and it's healthier because there isn't any frankenstein chemicals involved! Thanks for sharing :)
I’m exhausted watching! I’m inspired! Going to try some of the bowls and the sheet pan pancakes soon! And those bagel bites- my kids will love. Thanks Maria!
Wow amazing! Looks absolutely delicious. Have you dinner ideas that can be done like this- im fed up making same thing plus i have a very small freezer compartment
I baked 2 whole chickens then used them in a few meals. Biscuits,1chicken breast, green breans add cream of mushroom. Added green beans casserole to my chicken and my 2 oldest kids loved it. Chicken spaghetti 2 Chicken breasts shredded, cream of chicken & 1/2 of cream of mushroom and a cup in a half of milk to thicken microwave then mix well. In a glass pan add shredded chicken Then cooked spaghetti Then more chicken then pour over cream of chicken & cream of mushroom and mixture all through move around with large spoon so juice can go to the bottom. add shredded cheese on top then milk in oven until cheese is melted. Enjoy add some garlic bread. *tip some people add a can of rotel to their spaghetti be careful with small kids using this because it is a little spicy.
I mix all ads into my egg muffins. It's so messy to top with cheese, bacon, sausage, onion, peppers, etc. plus I get more in them that way. Quicker, easier. Is Good Chop economical for budgeting? I'll pay some for convenience and quality but somehow I doubt it fits in with those being budget minded. Great video.

Hate mushrooms but if they are small and in something with a lot of other ingredients, I pretend they're not there. You are a wonderful cook so I bet everything is delicious.😊
I do not love mushrooms, but I don’t hate them. I just don’t like the texture. I like to get them for my husband, but he can never finish them before they would get bad so I have taken to drying them and then making them into a powder and then I can add them to just about anything for extra flavor. I also do that with celery. I don’t use it that much in cooking because it’s expensive to buy here and I never do finish it so what happens is I use it for the recipe I’m buying it for and then I dry it and powder it and then I can add it to lots of things later for extra flavor, because I love the flavor, but again, hate the texture. this is a recurring theme in my life about texture, but that’s a different issue. The celery started out just drying the leaves so I could use them for flavoring and then I realized I could dry the whole thing. I do not have a dehydrator, but I live in Saudi Arabia so I just stick it on a table in the sunshine and in a day and a half it’s dry. Works great for herbs also.
