- Tag along with me as I paint with acrylics this Cute Robin! Draw the shapes you see, then Paint those shapes and the details. Brush Stroke direction will indicate the feathers and shape of the bird. At 1:00 COLORS: Mars Black, Titanium White, Cad. Yellow Med. Hue, Quinacridone Magenta, Phthalo Blue Green Shade. chat about transparency. Yellow and a pinch of black makes a great warm green. 4:20 chat about drawing tips, Birds usually work well finding the oval shapes. 9:05 what I a up to, brushes, working with a warm brown and a cool brown (Mix and orange color and add black. More black with make a cooler brown). Painting from reference photo. 17:05 palette knife makes fun wood texture. Glaze a little color on the wood, We take a tour of the painting up close. Eye painting tips. Beak is a triangle. The black shadow can define the bird's claw.

I'm sure folks will love him. He is so chubby and cute. Robins are on most of our Christmas cards so I might try to do my own. Did you know he is called Robin Red breast but of course its orange. When someone named the bird we didn't have a word for orange not until some sea captain brought back oranges! Probably Walter Rayleigh.

Hi annie! I loved this video, you make your videos so simple which makes it easier for me. I have been wanting to ask you for a while now, if you could pretty please paint another cat! i saw your first cat one and I’d love if you made another one! I’m the painter in my family, and one of my papa’s siblings asked to paint her cats. But I’m really struggling so please help! haha
