    As a DJ you can get more from a single 12" powered speaker, and 18" powered sub for about the same money. I'd have to hear this unit in person to make an informed decision, but the portability, and the ability to link multiple units together has me intrigued.

    Ok.. so i now have two units and tested all the functions. The sound is pretty good from the battery power speakers and its sturdy, good bass (not deep though). Can say its one of the best out there now. However in regards to skaa tech, its a gimmick for djs, as it creates a noticeable delay when you activate host&join modes. not between the speakers, but between your mixer’s other outputs and these speakers. Its still great function when only used for playing music, but for live performance, so do not even hope... the unit still provides audio out so you can daisy chain them physically so use that route if you are going to buy multiple of them for djing.

    I have a pair of Samson XP106's and while I love the portability, they're only useful as monitors for myself since they peak really easily at louder volumes. This Soundboks sounds like exactly what I need to retain my mostly portable setup.

    As a truck driver who drives a truck with low/medium quality speakers who is also unable to upgrade the speakers since it's not my truck should i buy this? I need my bass to be loud so that people will know whos there to load/unload!
    No but for real, should i buy this? i want high quality sound and a fairly intense bass that makes you not just hear the music but physically feel it, it's important since you don't always sleep well and a high quality bass keeps you awake and alert and is just plain awesome, is there a drawback to it being a portable sound system rather than built in? I mean the battery is removable so it's perfect for just leaving in the truck over night.
    Ps, can you stand on it without breaking it?

    I wouldn't say 70 watts amp is much, that is pretty low for how the 2 woofers look. I would say get a normal PA system and that would easily out perform that thing. I myself like subs that can handle 20 hz minimum, soundboks should make a model that has a sub, mid woofer and tweeter. It wil make it much more powerfull and the bass is much more punchy

    How is the sound quality compared to pro speakers? At $1000 it better be as good or even better than mid range pro speaker quality eg Yamaha DXR's. Hard to comment on the DXR's as we haven't used a set. However the Soundboks would do both these roles rather than having to buy two separate set ups. There are other reviews on the Soundboks that compare it directly to the Partybox so we'd recommend watching those on TH-cam before deciding which one to buy! Hope this helps :)

There was also nothing about how it performs technically and sonically. @@ggk7605 You can't compare a battery powered speaker to a plug-in PA system. And at least if you do factor in the cost of the speaker amp, inverter, and mega-sized electric car battery. Keeping that in mind you actually get a lot for your money.

    if you have two are you able to link them with the XLR cables or does it have to have both XLRs going to the one speaker?

    • @Crossfader
      @Crossfader  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You have the choice of either connecting both the XLR's to one speaker and wirelessly pairing them. Or you could plug a XLR into each speaker separately. Thirdly you connect XLR's to one speaker and use a 3.5mm aux cable to daisy chain the speakers together!
