I use pecans instead of raisins, dark rum and I take a skewer or toothpick to punch small holes in my baked cake before pouring the rum glaze, to allow more rum flavor flowing through the cake. I also, add a 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla to the glaze. Love his entire technique with cooking the glaze and baking the cake, simple and clean. Also, this cake looks gorgeous in a Bundt pan. My mom used to make this same recipe but with pecans on the bottom of a Bundt pan. Now I make it every year and it never last long!
