It’s a lot tighter under the hood compared to wk2. Jeep should have just used the engine from the Stelvio like how they are already using the platform 2.0l 4 with 280hp/306 Ib-ft (that’s more torque than the current GC) and use the new inline 6 for the 350+hp models.
The WK2 was a purpose built, no compromise, original design. No shortcomings or less than optimal design parameters were required to accommodate Internal Combustion, Hybrid, and All Electric in a single body on frame design. Optimization of the engineering design is lacking in the WL.
My 2004 Sequoia 4WD has 168,000 miles and it will still be running down the road long after this Jeep has given up the ghost. And I'm being serious. Best thing I only paid $4000 for it.

@@fun_ghoul Because they are shit brands. Buy cheap, buy again. Get proper Osram ones for example, but not the economy types, the higher end ones. You get what you pay for. @@fun_ghoul To understand better. Like with the elecrolytic capacitors, LEDs decrease in their lifespan by half for every 10 degrees C increase in temperature. So if rated at 25K hours at 85 degrees C and run at 105 degrees C, they would last up to 6,25K hours.

Starters don’t fail like they used to.
Once again awsome review thank you 👍 regarding your question I would pick 4Runner over this. I am not sure the suspension additions here actually do anything more . I can't trust to what I see under this truck...
Given how much detail you put in these reviews, how much time do you require to shoot a video. Are these showroom vehicles they give to you for test rides?
So the plastic transmission oil pan is protected by a sheet of cardboard... OMG
Will this ever stop?
I used to drive an LWB Land Rover in Algeria in the Sahara while working there. Everything was pretty solid but screwed together. That car was forever falling apart!
The cardboard is under the engine. The transmission is left open to air.
such a crazy setup, but it's redeemed slightly because a lot of it is surprisingly accessible for replacing parts. not a cohesive build.
Pls can u do a video for normal v6 engin sound cuz i hear ticking sound on new 2022 jeep
Thanks 👍
How do you determine if the suspension fasteners are reusable?
I have a 2020 grand Cherokee so this one looks nicer than mine
Nice video
Thanks
wait, is this car that you're reviewing a RWD or AWD version? In the beginning you say RWD and then you later say it is AWD?
Great info 👍
That's messed up - using your wife's and brother's good clothes: poor things...😲😉🤔 Great information and I am glad that I found your channel.
Thanks. And don't worry for them...
you forgot to put the oil dipstick back completely
Too bad
15:16 Wtf??
Who engineers a crossbrace setup like that? 😂😂
Chrysler
It must have been a bet between engineers: How many different materials and mount points can you use for one brace…
How do you remember all that?
LOL...how long is that plastic oil filter cover going to last in the hot V????
That oil filter/exchanger housing is a common failure on the 3.6
The front suspension looks expensive to maintain. Hopefully its later than sooner in your ownership.
Yes it will be since it has alot of links.
What's with the toothbrush ?
Does that mean they can't cut the catalytic converter from underneath.
curious why you call a five link rear suspension italian
The weldings of the aluminium subframe look terrible.
They sure are visible 👀
Excellent.
I think those are the next engines inline for the grand Cherokee as we've already seen them replacing the ones in the wagoneer
Is that V6 engine direct Injection port injection.
@isaacashurov365 It’s Port fuel injected.
@@jaimemurray6654 Thank you
@@isaacashurov365 anytime!👌🏽
Do you like the older version WK2 or this version WL better?
The WK2 was a purpose built, no compromise, original design. No shortcomings or less than optimal design parameters were required to accommodate Internal Combustion, Hybrid, and All Electric in a single body on frame design.
Optimization of the engineering design is lacking in the WL.
Did he show where the alternator was and how (not) easy it is to reach?
Yes he said it was on the passenger side
@@NFLYoungBoy223 don't know how I missed that, thanks!
@@AndrewDasilvaPLT how reliable do you think this Jeep is?
@@NFLYoungBoy223 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
Watching from Edmonton, AB Canada. Please do a super complex S Class or a Lamborghini
Whoa!!
looks more like built for comfort rather than durability.
That's every Grand Cherokee. It's never been a real Jeep.
Yes. Especially this mommy base model spec.
My 2004 Sequoia 4WD has 168,000 miles and it will still be running down the road long after this Jeep has given up the ghost. And I'm being serious. Best thing I only paid $4000 for it.
You bumped your head there is no way it will outlast these two Jeeps. Dream on
My 2004 Jeep Wrangler since new is still with me too. Had a 1998 Grand Cherokee i literally gave away cause I got bored of it. What’s your point?
How long will this jeep last if taken care well?
Ask again in 20 years, lol.
How many 10 year old Jeep Grand Cherokees do you see on the road today?
I see a few around Milton, Burlington. Hell I have seen a late 90s Dodge Ram with a Dakota box attached to it.
Still I will stick with my 2011 Mazda CX7. So far so good.
After almost 40 years jeep went back to passenger side drop front differential with the grand cherokee.
Was it always driver side?
Plastic can be used as a heatsink as well. Have you ever seen an LED lighbulbs...
Yes...and I've seen them burn out faster than every previous kind of bulb despite the LEDs themselves being rated for 25,000 hours.
@@fun_ghoul Because they are shit brands. Buy cheap, buy again. Get proper Osram ones for example, but not the economy types, the higher end ones. You get what you pay for.
But yeah, LEDs get absolutely baked in most bulbs, running at 100+ degrees C, so their lifespan shortens significantly. 25K hours is at 85 degrees C operating temperature.
@@DashCamSerbia Oh...so you've never had a "quality" LED bulb fail on you? Cool story, bro.
@@DashCamSerbia I know what temperature derating is, thanks.
Nice I miss the toothbrush and the videos bless and thanks.
You are welcome
Like all others its a 100000 mile throw away , the days of junk yard recoveries are over and what a great you tube channel great work. The commentary is fantastic really sounds prograde with proper annunciation. One question, are you prone to buying clothing for your relatives presents? You sure are burning through some their undies.
What year is this Jeep?
2023
3.6 and 5.7 are the only good two engine FCA produces, but FCA product leak juices all the time, seals go bad too quickly, especially in Canada
Too bad they discontinued the V8 for the GC
Yeah. Hopefully the hurricane I6 can live up
Please do one on suzukis 😬
We don't have Suzuki here
