@@sizzle19322 the 3.5s are 2.5 feet away from my ears (yes I just measured with a tape measure) here on my PC desk. the 5s would probably melt my brain LOL.
I have Genelec 1029A´s, Presonus Eris 8´s, and just bought the Presonus E 3,5 BT´s, and I´m amazed by the E 3,5 BT´s, especially after calibrating them with SoundID Reference. Great little speakers!!!
@@DICARLOPRODUCTIONS they definitely need sound calibration, the E5/8 are way flatter and more true sounding i prefer the 8's though, albeit the Sceptre S8's are just on another level of accurate haven't heard the Eris Pro 8's or 8XT or Eris Studio 8s yet but the Sceptre S8's still blow my mind how good they are even after having them for a few years now
I‘ve since upgraded my studio, and my monitors to Focal Shape Twins. They are amazing, but at 1200€ a piece they should be. I mainly use them, and my Genelec’s for mixing and mastering, but I still use my Eris 8‘s, and Eris 3.5 to check the mixes and masters to hear how they sound on consumer monitors. All are calibrated with Sound Reference.
This sub is for a project studio. It is not a sub for a home theatre setup. It is the size that it is and the frequency response that it is to be more "present" and not as "flattering or exaggerated" as a home theatre sub would be. The ratings are mostly coming from project studios who are using them.
Pulled the trigger, and bought this for a 2.1 setup. I have the 3.5 inch studio monitor right now Imight end up getting one for the living room too for 7.1 duty
This gentleman precisely describes the purpose and normal use scenario for the 8". It will support home theater sonics up to a point but, as he clearly says, physics is physics so 10" would be the way to go. These PreSonus products are aimed at home studio and portable session work and a bonus is that they work happily with other brands. A quick tip when using slit port subs on a floor: attach a strip of material such as medium weave tights/stocking type to avoid debris collecting inside. Subscribed.
Right now I am testing the ELAC sub 1010. 82 will not write all the pictures off of your wall, but at $129 it is a really good budget desktop or small room sub.
Nice video. Please make a comparison between the Yamaha HS8S subwoofer and the KRK S8G4. Would be much appreciated. These are two very popular subs that have different pricepoints. We want to know which one is better and makes more sense overall.
The Monoprice Premium Select 8 is surprisingly good with music also (though marketed more toward HT) in this size. I'm using it with a desk setup in my office connected to my Triangles.
I picked up a couple monolith m-10 v1 to go with my monolith mm5s. Now I need to find a cheap way to cut 60hz down off to the mm5s. I have caused them to go full Farty Mcfly a few times.
Hype 10 G2 HiFi from Mivoc has the same price tag. It comes with a 10" driver and probably is the best bang for the buck SW out there. Only issue is that it hasn't HSF for speakers and only 2xRCAcas input. The rest I/O ports are for bare wire cable. They are not suitable for for little room if you don't want to turn mad even before the resonance destroy the walI And it's everything but compact. I ended up pairing the Eris Sub8 with Eris 5BT loudspeakers (they are very very ahead of 3.5/4.5 models). Couldn't be more happy with the results.
I just bought this sub from your recommendation. Specs say 113dB. is that true? It says TRS in. I have a 1/4" TS cable. I'm going to be running this from the output of a Bose S1Pro. Any downside to TS cable? Do I need to get a TRS cable?
You don't need one. Using a single ended 1/4" TS will only unbalance the signal. In other words it will be the same as using the RCA input. TRS is for a balance double ended connection and is supposed to yield a 3-6db higher output depending how the manufacturer has spec'd their design.

Thanks for the vid. However, I though you tested it, but you rather listened to it as you didn't do any measurements on the actual frequency response and how flat the unit is across the crossover frequencies..
I have this sub paired with Eris 3.5BTs on my desktop PC and it's badass. It was money really well spent.
I would recommend to upgrade to the Eris E5. They have way way better sound. Trust me.

This is exactly what I'm looking to hear. I need a sub to add to my music monitor speakers. My Dolby Atmos studio would never benefit from ANY 8" sub.
i can tell you the Temblor T10/Eris Pro Sub 10 are definitely good even for HT use, unless you need it to hit like 120+dB
