    Hello, do you know if it's possible to mount a high compression head on a 49cc engine? Is the difference in the 49cc and 66cc engines only on the piston and cilinder? Can I mount a 66cc engine cilinder and piston on a 49cc engine? Thanks in advance. Cheers from Portugal.

    What did the issue with the other Engine turn out to be ? Bad Crank Case Gasket ?

    I had a problem like that before and replace everything you did and a new carburetor and still didn't run. Turned out to be the carburetors jet was loose and both carbs. Lol I wish I would have check that before I replace the Magneto CDI spark plug head gasket Magneto magnet lol. Live and learn right. From then on I always check the carburetor fuel jets and every time they're always loose on Evey 80/66cc 2 stroke kit I get.

    what do you think of the huffy cranbrook itself? is it a decent bicycle to motorize if you go through all the bearings?

      +Brettisdaman98 Cheapest bike on the market. Decent wheels great price. I prefer a 1940's beach cruiser. Nice thick frames.

    Í add a small pilot hole and a screw íntó the chain stay for the tensioner. Its never moved. Just keep it small as not to affect the strength of the frame too much even if íts a 4 bolt I still use this method.

    Hello dear friend how much foot pounds righting a clutch spring?😅😊

  • @a1930ford
    @a1930ford 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Some folk do not advocate using a chain tensioner at all. They run these bikes without such. Many don't use the type you installed, but use the spring-loaded ones, instead. What do you think about such and which do you find is best to use? Also, some folk add rubber tubing at the motor mounts to cushion it to the frame mounting points. Is that wise or overkill in some manner? I really enjoyed this video and will use it, for sure, as a reference in my builds. Thanks for posting it.

    • @HughesMotorized
      @HughesMotorized  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Rubber? Not no but hell no. Rubber allows the motor to flex. That allows the mounting studs to constantly bend. Then they'll break, Not good. If one is anal retentive, sure you can play with shims and mounting to omit the tensioner. Pain in the ass. Why? The chain stretches and the sprockets wear. Me? I'm lazy. it's a lot easier to simply adjust a tensioner. The spring loaded tensioners can slap around and not keep up and you have issues.

    hey guy i have a build just like that. it ran fine for a while then nothing. it sounds like there is an air leak somewhere. did you figure out the defective engine problem? was it a head gasket , worn rings or the bottom cylander gasket, intake gaket or exhaust gasket? do a video on hunting down that illusive problem please. hope you and yours are doing ok hear texas is having some weather issues.. . polar caps melting and el nino all at once

      I had a 60ft tree fall onto my work shed. $1000 to get it cut down and hauled off. forecast is 90 today. Just hoping we don't get 110 temps like a few years back.
      OK, Block off the exhaust and put a hose on intake. Blow into hose and use soap bubbles to test for leaks th-cam.com/video/rj1jfMhdvRY/w-d-xo.html

    Iv seen you do a few of these motor kits and iv managed to get one of my own I got it on a gokart lol bit I can't figure out is why the pullstarts not pulling is there any tips you could give ?

    • @HughesMotorized
      @HughesMotorized  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately I've never used one w the pull start as they are notoriously unreliable. The pull start mechanism breaks early and often is what I've read

    I am new to this. What can you do to a thread that got stripped for a hack. I stripped the exhaust bolt hole trying to fit it for the first time. And what size bolt is it originally and what size can I use for a hack if I can???

    • @HughesMotorized
      @HughesMotorized  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      6mm thread

    • @rexjohnson3228
      @rexjohnson3228 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just try using another 6mm screw and put a small nut or thick washer on the screw and easy screw it on till a good snug. I ruin dozen of screws onto the exhaust cylinder. I even tapped it larger. It worked but too much work. I kept trying different washer + plus little thick nut and it amazingly gripped. NP
