I bought one of your bullet train engins and I love it. I sure would like to get a expansion chamber for it. I'm get 40mph out of mine with a 32 tooth sprocket on the drive.
I have wanted to have a bullet train personally. I have used the 2 strokes for several yrs now. I ride to & from work all year long including winter. Winter is what stops me for the most part as I am afriad that having my bike out in the cold for 14hrs would kill the battery, other than that with the engine bieng one peice I am scared that if any one place were to crack then the whole thing is just spare parts. I have been using the stage 4 since BB has not been able to get the 80cc Dragonfire back in stock. The Stage 4 is a fine engine & will be my goto if the Dragonfire is no gonna be coming back(unless I can find one elsewhere.) Thank you for your videos & the time you take to make them.
Appreciate the kind words 🙏 I’ll definitely test the bullet train this winter to see how the battery hold up in the cold. My question would be if the cold cranking amps are sufficient. I’ll do my best to keep you posted.
@@tonytaylor5087 The BT80 engine has plenty of potential, BUT it lacks basic performance parts, like the expansion pipe, windowed piston, reed valves, variety of carburetors. AND ALSO, IT WOULD BE GREAT IF THERE WAS AN ELECTRIC START VERSION OF THE BT100 WITH CENTRIFUGAL CLUTCH LIKE THE BT80 !!!
Having had a Bullet Train, I would never have another pedal start engine. Bullet Train is hands down the best quality I've ever seen in a made for purpose bicycle engine. Sure the 4 strokes are even *more* dependable, and yes the Bullet Train is not the cheapest option by far..but it's pretty hard to beat.
does the bullet train have a higher top speed than the 49cc 4 stroke? manual clutch not legal in ontario canada(with pedals) and i can only get the 4 stroke to get to 50kph. ideas to improve speed? i have a 40 tooth rear sprocket, acceleration is rough. 44t sprocket noticeably better acceleration but 40t didnt really notice a difference in top speed but def noticed slower acceleration. 4 stroke also seemed to go faster when it was new...any ideas why thats happening? centrifugal clutch need new pads or something? legally im allowed to go 70kph.
I am looking to get the BBR tuning Angle fire and I am going to mount it onto a razor mx500 and I saw all you videos and I will order of of BikeBerry now
I have been building & riding motorized bikes for about 6yrs now, I keep buying from BB because there has been very little that I got from them has has let me down as compared to other companies. That has been my experience.
I live in Springfield Oregon and I've been building motorized bikes for ten years and just about every motor from China has failed when can I see Bike Barry sell american-made motor's or a CNC case and head and jug, something more reliable with larger exhaust and a better carburetor the HP carbs they suck, so far I have better luck with the NT carburetors then the HPi wish I could be a motor tester cause I put them motors through hell I still have one on my daily rider that a friend gave me and it's holding strong maybe can you help me out ona motor all the bikers I build are for vet's with disabilities and or are homeless so if you can help me out that would be great I build 2 bikes a week but with my motor stock running low I maybe sell 1 every 6 months so please help me out even if there returns I'll take them
I really like this video! I personally like the stage 4 better because I like working on/ upgrading my bike. The only thing that I don't really agree with in this video is at the end when he says that you have to pedal the stage 4 "quite a bit". At least with mine, I have to pedal maybe 4 or 5 rotations (at most) and the bike will start right up, and I have to pedal less than that to get going from a stop when its already running. I'm not trying at all to hate, I'm just sharing my personal experience.
That was a pretty good video Tony. Thanks for covering all the highlights and differences of the 2.Is the Bullet Train muffler the same 1 they use on the 85 'chainsaw' head engines? It looks like it'd fit well.Btw,I like how you've customized the B-T bike.I think the B-T would be the best choice for a 3-wheeler conversion too.Have you built 1?
I just bought a 80cc Bullet train electric start engine that I plan on putting on my Schwinn OC Chopper Stingray. I have the boost bottle and intake manifold for it, however there are currently there are no exhaust options for the engine but I would love to have something like the voodoo performance exhaust that could fit the engine as well.
What kind of oil and how much do I use to fill the clutch? I have heard to use 4 stroke oil or 2 stroke oil depending on the person. Can't seem to find a video.
You'll want 4 stroke oil for the clutch. I used Valvoline ATV oil that specifically mentions use with clutches. As for the amount, I think it's 150ml (about 5oz)
I would love if they built a version that was compatible with all the parts the other one has such as jugs and heads, if you could make an electric start kit for the modable engine that would be perfection :D
can you make an adjustable cdi to control the spark speed. instead of shavings the woodruff key and make a custom magneto and mag so we can run brighter light and charge a battery

Thanks Tony. Yeah, l got to say, l bought my second Stage 4, still in the box, because the first one is better than the 2 first engines l bought from guy that works out of his house. The Stage 4 with the performance carb and the 44t sprocket no doubt pulls better in the wind, up hill, and pulling my WeeHoo single wheel trailer loaded with groceries, 10gal gas, propane, water or just hailing my backpack of tools and stuff.😺👍☑️
Hey Tony I never thought of using the Bullet Train motor because of the wide cranks, I didn't like the idea of having to change out my cranks as I like them as they are. But I have a custom Bike build that I am doing that may just be perfect for one of those motors as I may not be able to crank the bike up to speed just to start it. My design requires the motor be mounted away from the cranks. I also had no idea that the Bullet Train had a centrifugal clutch I am now thinking that it might be the perfect motor for me, At least once I add an Alternator. Thanks for the heads up about this motor.
Does the red kill switch work? Or is just there for looks. I noticed you didn't mention that in your build. It was t addressed in the previous video properly. Could you give us a response?
I am going ro be building a bike this summer (2023) I want an electric start , looking at the bullet , but would want a flexible exhaust and a jackshaft attachment
I've got another question for you Tony, Lets see if this one baffles you? What are the odds that I can change out the cylinder on the Bullet Train with a stock cylinder off a regular motor and then upgrade to a better head??
You know why the true reason the engine is described 66/80cc ? because the 66cc shares the same cylinder barrel (entire engine actually) as the 80cc.You have an option to turn it into a 66 or an 80 by only needing to change the conrod. That is the only difference. The rod is a touch shorter in the 66 but they both share the 47mm piston & barrell. That is why its called a 66/80. Its not an 80 overseas & 66 in US.
If there was an aftermarket upgraded chambered exhaust for the bullet train electric start. I’m in for a few. I have three of these engines. One of them has a windowed piston upgrade and Oz reed Kit it goes pretty good. It’s on my Schwinn trike.
I would like it to actually have upgradeable heads with copper when a copper base for the cylinder for the for the bottom gasket for the bottom of the cylinder just so the cylinder can be cooled down because the cylinder has a problem with overheating
what is that on the stage 4; The gear is sticking out from the clutch breakerbar area!! Thats what I should of done in the begining!! I bought a jackshift kit, I tried everything!!
I just started building a bt80 bike and I'd just like to know what performance parts are usable on this kit. It would be a great option to produce an aftermarket jug that's 2 piece.
Unfortunately, none of the aftermarket performance stuff will fit the BT80 without modification. This is due to the BT80's unique intake bolt spacing (35mm vs 40mm) and the BT80's unique exhaust flange design. There's a possibility of certain moped exhausts that might fit (Honda maybe?), but you'll most likely have to do some cutting/welding to get anything to work. For adding a reed valve, just fill the existing bolt holes in the reed body with JBWeld and drill new ones with the correct spacing. As for the windowed piston, a 47mm "low hole" windowed piston is what you'll need.
@@dmoore0079 I have been riding this bike for a few months now, and I have decided o. A CDH power reed valve and a jog pipe. I am still on the fence as to windowed pistons, but it will run me about 150 for all of the parts
