This why i love MTB it rocks all the other bike sports inmho. working on building a new bike, i have got the TREK 9000 with original set up, but it needs to be upgraded. due to the fact that it has limited travel front and rear, also pad brakes not so hot in mud, those need to be changed to disc for sure.

In technical terms it's to level you out midair to minimize air time which allows for more speed however, it looks cool as fuck and displays a fair amount of skill when executed properly.
It adds to the effect. Pointless yes but very intriguing.

might i add not underestimating the power of pumping? if your lacking a bit of speed for a kicker for instance, just pop hard. expreiment how slow you can go off a jump and still make the landing. and after that, poping out of corners to gain speed.
