When they come flying close to the top, need a transmission type of reverse, basically when that back tire is not engaged, it needs a smart trans to hit it hard and keep going when that tire is not engaged. Also a 25 lbs pack on the front end would not hurt. Maybe make the forks beefed and heavy ? The motors these guys are using are awesome !!! When the guys get close to the top they need to have half their body over the handlebars. Anyhow I’ve had a few beers , whatever ! Great video, I am a fan of
Here is a video of the top 3 in one of these events. Only the first two got out the top. In the case that two get out (or otherwise tie for distance) then the winner is the fastest time. th-cam.com/video/PaFV4SaJCU8/w-d-xo.html
It’s like the wrestling of motor sports, but less homoerotic Kind of silly, but hard to stop watching. The clever engineering of the bikes, the way the riders always have to manage speed and balance. I can’t stop watching. Usually at the end, there’s one dude who nails it.
I was thinking these dudes are nuts and herd the different language and said no wonder 😂😂 they got more balls then brains 😂 nice bikes and tuff as nails
Even with the best rear wheel design and powerful light engine, it takes no small amount of luck to get the right bounce 20 feet from the top to keep the bike vertical and not back flipping.
The movie called On Any Sunday with Steve McQueen and Malcolm Smith. And the legendary Hill Widowmaker. Smith tried it on his Honda Elsinore I think that's the bike he rode. But he did almost climb the hill. Then he did something you don't see every day. He rode his bike back down the hill
@enwri You know what I'm talking about don't ya? Every weekend before me and my Dad and the neighbor and his son would head for Rose City or Saint Helen Michigan to go riding our Dirt bikes. We would watch ON ANY SUNDAY. I rode a 77-125 Yamaha YZ My Dad had the best.. a 76-400 Yamaha YZ with air compressor front shocks. I beat a TT Yamaha 500 Orange and Chrome gas tank every day on my Dad's bike. That was owned by my best friend. He couldn't get around the 400's roostertail 😆
@@JohnHall-uv2jm I had a 75 MX250b, It was my mates worrying about getting hit by roostertails, I wasn't watching behind me.. A friend just bought a box of 76 YZ400, the one with the air forks, for Post classic racing class.
@enwri a metal gas tank is the original. My friend told me he couldn't get around the debris my tire was kicking up. If this bike isn't new I'd be interested in knowing what the serial numbers are on it. It was stolen back in the early 90's along with my 81 Suzuki 650 GS shaft drive.
@@JohnHall-uv2jm Australia got them too, It's not likely to be yours.. I liked the alloy tanks, lighter than steel. Mx got pinched too, the old man moved it out of the shed, noone noticed it was gone for weeks. 509 was the prefix for the mx, I think 510 for the yz
Seems as though the top of the bikes are too light? The front end always comes up, especially with the pitch of the mountain. They should transfer their weight towards to front(lean) to avoid the front end becoming air born. But that's my opinion and I could be wrong. But it makes sense?
Hey guys, how about if they low the high of the bike on front wheel, and put a higher tire on the back some source of a two wheel dragster; because when the bike bounce up on the end of the hill the biker is pulling the bikes front and flipping it, and probably a stiffer suspension on the center of the would better every time the bike get a bump it bounce like a dunkey.
There was a hill like that up north Michigan in St Helens. An old ski Lodge burnt down back in the maybe 40's - 50's. The hill looked like this one. Which it wasn't nothing when your on what we had back in the 80's a 1976 Yamaha 400 YZ with air compression shocks and the metal gas tank. No hill ever bogged it down
The biggest problem these guys have is to much traction. You need enough slip on the rear wheel to keep the front from going over and just enough to get you up the hill. Those 4" spikes is the biggest downfall.
Crazy, insane thrill seekers. Respect fellas !! You need some panniers on your bikes, you know, something in which you can safely carry those big, fat balls of yours
Where's a supercharged harley, or a turbo triumph rocket three? Invite Toni Bou, his trials bike will be slow but he could probably make it to the top.
Me and my buddy would take our dirt bikes to the first hill climbs at point of the mountain Utah. ABC wild world of sports covered the hill climb. The friggin environmental pukes put a halt on the annual climbs.
I am duly impressed by this wild display of French bravery!
Indeed. However, I looked up the rules and it appears that they get 5 runs. That would seem to be veering towards stupidity.🤣

An oxymoron if one was truthful. I wonder 🤔 how a rokon would do ?
Another awesome film. Thankyou David.

This is so dumb and i love every minute of it.
This requires great skill and an enormous amount of luck.
Those spikes are deadly .
This gives new meaning to the phrase "breakneck speed"! 😆
Bonkers!. Love it!. 🤣

My body aches while I watch these guys fall, and in some cases, their motorcycles fall on top of them.

Them guys and girl are fearless..
Where in the hell are the bike grabbers with the hooks??? These guys are getting pounded

I climbed that 2 years ago with my ultra limited 107CI stage 2
wonder how a trials rider would do at this. they do amazing things balance wise.

Direct your exhaust forward and upward to provide jet effect to keep the front wheel down !

If you wrote to the organizers they might help you to enter next year. Just tell them you have a sure-fire way of winning.

This seems very unfair because the track deteriorates with every run. The early competitors get a better track than the later ones.
You have to be half crazy to even try it
Has no body tried. This on a triels bike
This reminds me a lot of bull riding except the only nutz that are getting wrecked are attached to the riders.
Faut quand même y aller ! C'est pas le moment de faire sa p'tite mijaurée.

Just invite Graham Jarvis, he could just run on up this on his Husky 300TEI.
You're probably right. Seriously.

Those spiked tires are lethal weapons. There has to be a smarter way to set your bike up for traction without trying to kill yourself by steel spikes.

Anyone know how these transmission/gear boxes are modified?
