    We have audio coming in via RCA from our mixer. Its coming into our Roland V-1HD. When audio comes out of the Roland V-1HD, does it come out of HMDI? Or when you come in with RCA, is the only audio out option RCA (and not HMDI). We really want HDMI out for audio because the our is going into our YOLOLIV YoloBox.

      Audio input is mixed into the Program output. There's settings in the menu/app that you can adjust this. check out video around 6:15

    I love the simplicity and features of this unit but the one I have has been KO'ed by lightning twice in the last 6 months. The problem seems to be happening through unpowered camera inputs when a surge is induced into the lines by a nearby lightning strike. In both times it has knocked out one of the inputs preventing it from passing signal.

      I'm probably going to get hated for this - but the Blackmagic Design ATEM Mini's are a better solution right now. Have you looked at these yet?

    I believe you can mix 1080i and 1080p inputs signals ....

    Can you save a static image and have it show on screen in memory rather than using a source to show the image?

    • @ranzee
      @ranzee  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Ash, you need to use a source to show a static image. This was a limitation and I mentioned that it should have this feature (when talking about lower thirds).

      ugh, thanks for the answer. I don't understand why something so simple was not added? There are times where you don't need a full on laptop for something as simple as this...@@ranzee

    is there any additional latency introduced by this unit when using a hd camera? I am currently using a crevo livewedge but it add a bit of latency to the immage. Im looking for something more transparrent

    • @ranzee
      @ranzee  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      hi fellowship productions, I didn't notice much (or any) latency. the specs do mention something about it - but I don't have the V-1HD anymore to test.

    Is there a limiter in the Roland V-1HD?

    • @ranzee
      @ranzee  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi GAiPS, not really. Check out Page 27 of the user manual - it lists all the audio FX it processes. There might be some inbuilt limiters in the Mastering FX - but it doesn't mention it per.se .

    HELLO i tried everything to connect Gopro Hero 5 black camera's from the camera's Hdmi output directly into de VH-1Hd but the only output signal i get is a small video stroke in the left top corner ...the rest of the outputscreen is black.. If i use an older Gopro Hero 4 and do the same the output is normal....can someone tell me what is gong wrong?

    • @ranzee
      @ranzee  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Melvin Jakobs check your gopro output format. Remember the v1hd only does 1080p 50.

    • @melvinjakobs
      @melvinjakobs 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      ranzee thanks but its on 1080 P 50.....

    • @melvinjakobs
      @melvinjakobs 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the reaction. I solved the problem. And its a strange one. THE OUTPUT OF THE GOPRO IS SET TO THE STANDARD NTSC and in Europe we use PAl. THE ONLY WAY TO CHANGE THIS IS VIA THE GO PRO APP. IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO CHANGE NTSC TO PAL ON THE GPOPRO ITSELF......PFFFF

    What is the little box you have connected to the side of it

    • @ranzee
      @ranzee  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, its a HDMI swticher - multiple inputs one ouput - so you can add extra inputs to the V-1HD :)

    You forgot to mention the 4K info in the description.

      Roland haven't given me the link yet. However, you can get this: proav.roland.com/global/products/v-1200hd/ - but it requires an expansion card - and really isn't in the same ballpark.

      ranzee av thank you. How are you getting great audio into the V-1HD?

    • @ranzee
      @ranzee  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi GAiPS, I use a Zoom H6 recorder and sent the output into the V-1HD to record the vid :)

    • @ranzee
      @ranzee  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've gone more ITB route with OBS Studio - with capture cards and using NDI screen shares. It is much cheaper for me - plus I can do 4K :)
