- The WheelTop EDS (Electronic Derailleur System) TX the the latest product released by WheelTop.It is an all wireless shifting unit comprising of both left and right electronic shfters, front derailleur and rear derailleur.
Customers have the option to also include a set of hydraulic brake calipers if their bicycles are using disc brake systems.
I have received my groupset and brake calipers today via courier. We will do an unboxing walkthrough followed by weight comparisons with contemporary groupsets from rival brands such as SRAM Force and Shimano Ultegra/105 standards.Currently the price is hovering around USD 640 for the complete kit but we expect prices to increase with an increased consumer demand in the near future.

EDS and SRAM weights include the battery, while the Shimano uses a separate battery in the seatpost. So the total weight for Shimano may not be a good one-to-one comparison but just for reference.
Looking forward to the review
The bike is going into my bikeshop tomorrow for the build. Wish us luck!
Update: Bike shop had a little issue downloading the setup app on mobile due to some region restriction. I downloaded it myself and had no issue getting registered. So I sent the .apk (Android) to them and it worked. Must be their mobile phone setup than the app.

First ride is sweet! The shifting needed a little fine tuning for the 11T to 14T but the rest are spot on with the calibration. Front derailleur is a no issue part that just goes up and down as expected. Here is a short of what's coming up in the review soon.

Just to clarify this is a not a sponsored video as I paid for the groupset with my own money.
Hi, thanks for sharing your content and insight about this Wheeltop EDS. Where did you buy it and are there any other versions for both the cable and Hydraulic versions of this wireless electronic shifters? Thanks.
@@scuzzyboy The EDS TX comes in both hydraulic disc brake and rim brake versions. Within each version there is a carbon and an alloy version too.
My purchase is from TaoBao and took a week to arrive.
good... but my campagnolo mechanical set ( campagnolo centaur 11s ) is lighter... so i stay mechanic LOL. Better to buy in a good carbon wheeset :)
As long as you are happy with your choice, I wish you well.
It is really nice they include the bleed kit. Although these ezmtb kits are cheap and from what I see this is the basic one with least number of connectors, maybe even just one type that fits these calipers and levers, it is still nice of eds. Good to see another chinese brand entering the electronic game. Hopefully they wil be a comperitor to ltwoo and this will result in price drop. Wonder when and if Sensah (Sentyieh) release their electronic groupset.
Sensah does not seem to be ready to enter the electronic game yet. However, they have upped the mechanical groupsets with hydraulic disc braking shifters. Nearly there but not yet, now.
Are the shifters hydraulic disc brake only. I’m a rim brake guy so I have to ask if this would work with my bike
There is also a rim brake version which is slightly cheaper.
@@TaichoCyclist oh that’s great. I was interested in the ltwoo ERX but the fact it’s hydraulic disc only was obviously a no go. Thank you very much 👍
Just received my bike together with the wheeltop eds tx. Bought the Twitter complete set. My first road bike and looking for help on how to set up the entire thing. Should I go to a bike shop for assistance or is easy to set up my own. Need advice. If going to bike shop, any recommendation? Thanks in advance.
How easy it is for you to set up is entirely up to your confidence level to manage the app to setup, connect, calibrate the gears.
On top of that if your bike needs help to be built up, then a local bike store to do that and help you with the EDS TX set up is prefererred then.
Thanks for your prompt response. I’m totally new to road bike and hope you are able to extend your help. Any recommendation on the bike shop you know who is experience on wheeltop set up. Thanks.
Unfortunately, it is June 2024, and there is no shipping to Chile (and not even the entirety of the United States, not even in New Jersey!).
Wheel Top official site listed North America and Canada as their delivery countries.

You can check with them to confirm your location.
So EDS TX compatible with current SRAM or Shimano?
Supposed with either brands' cassettes but not likely be able to interchange derailleurs or shifters with SRAM.
The bike is built and a quick short peek at the shifting being tuned is vlogged in my new video.

Believe that you should include battery with cables for ultegra for more correct weight comarison as it don't work without it. Otherwise ultegra is unbelievably lighter.
Thank you for the suggestion. 🙏
How do you pair the shifters to the derailers?
You use the WheelTop app to connect and configure all the derailleurs and shifters before tuning the gears.
@@TaichoCyclist Ok”, after I get everything paired then is it ok to install on the bike, then fine tune gears?
Are these available as a rim brake version?
Yes and also the brifters are in either alloy or carbon bladed.
Any update on this? Hows the performance?
Thank you for asking and the kind patience. I am waiting for some other items required for the build to come. Afterwhich, it will begin in earnest.
Awesome! Following for updates. How’s the build EDS? It’s rigid?
Where can i buy it?
If you are proficient with Chinese language, TaoBao is the place currently to get it. Otherwise, I believe it is beginning to be retailed on Aliexpress since Monday.
About two weeks ago I saw one and only offer on aliexpress. It was for both hydraulic and rim brake versions.
From AliExpress?
TaoBao
@@TaichoCyclist thank you brooooooo...I will have a look there...look forward for the build up review... thanks again
As a Chinese living in Hong Kong, I have been trying many single new China-made bike products, I witness the grow of the China bike market and improvement on the bike parts they produced...but I am so sorry to say that the Wheeltop EDS road groupset is BAD in term of the quality of the products and even worst " VERY BAD AFTER SALE SERVICE" , I need to beg them for the product repair.....I will never buy products from that brand
Good to hear. I was ready to get one, for a gravel build. I was wondering why there are no real reviews on TH-cam, like LTWOO.
I share your concern as I am also invested into fairly new Aliexpress products like Magene trainers, Sensah Empire Pro (12s) during their early days. I have pretty good luck with Sensah as I have built 2 bikes on them and they are still "clicking" till today effectively. However for electronics, its a hit or miss like what we saw with TraceVelo Luke's LTWoo Front D death...
However, I have never been deterred to try new items at my own cost because that is the fun of discovery. When it really works, it rocks! If not, oh well next better buy * sob *.
Edit: I have very little issues communicating with sellers if there is a warranty issue. Maybe I am multilingual as I speak pretty decent Mandarin and English which helps. Also, I avoid buying from unrated or lowly rating count sellers to avoid grief as early as possible.
I have decided to go with the LTWOO, even though i like the totally wireless system from wheeltop. It comes down to customer support, from what I read, LTWOO's customer support is pretty good.
