Got a DSL40 two weeks ago, can't stop playing now i get 4 to 5 hours of sleep every night!

Bradley Davis not the best for the bedroom. Maybe go for the DSL15 or DSL5.
Andrei James for bedroom playing yes. If you are playing in a band, or live, you’ll want the 20 or 40. Actually if you’re micing the signal, a 5 should do it for live.

I wouldn't mind a bit more clean and low gain in the demonstration - but this guy does great demos -- good playing and good sound quality in the recording. Much appreciated.

The dude and Jimmy Burkhard make the DSL 40 sound as good as any other amp many of which are several times more expensive and that guitar sounds incredible as well .
Best demo of the new Marshall DSL series on TH-cam. Even beats Andertons. Best part of this review was the proper demonstration of the Lead 1 and Lead 2 through palm mutes, in standard tuning. Kudos and thanks good sir!

Great tones and great playing. It's excellent to hear some classic tones and playing rather than every other demo going straight to over-gained tones. I really enjoyed this. Beautiful Les Paul by the way.

ein absolut geiles teil!!!! grad für meine blues und blues rock Geschichten ein absolutes muss. ob high Gain oder clean da matscht gar nix!!!! Marshall and Olli rules baby!!
Had one of these, loved it but sold to buy other gear. Just bought another one. I've had metal amps (5150 iii, 6505, ENGL, Blackstar) and metal guitars with active pickups but I always dump them to get back to the sound of an overdriven Marshall and that sexy growl.

What was it like? I've been a Mesa player for a long time, also had an MG and an English made AVT 50 combo which I foolishly let go of several years ago. The Engl Gigmaster 30, Screamer 50, the Randall RD40C, and this Marshall have been on serious radar for the last couple years since I've been ampless, but this amp seems to be the more versatile and flexible choice. Basically swap the speaker and put a pedal in front and it seems good to go for metal. I play a Gibson Less Paul Custom with a Seymour Duncan Alnico 2 Pro in the neck and a Gibson Dirty Fingers in the bridge, so my curiosity is how this combo sounds with an over wound ceramic magnet humbucker, since my local shop doesn't have these in stock and I can't just go out and play it for myself. I agree, I own many high end tube amps, Fender, Bad Cat, Peavey, but Marshall is my favorite. What do you think about changing the Seventy80 speaker to a Celestion V30 on this amp?
Raymond Roder I hear the V30 works pretty decent also V type speaker too. I put NOS glass in the preamp and it smoothed it up a bit. Just have over 30 hours now on mine. Liking it still great tones.

Precisely. It tightens up the response and adds more gain, making it very capable of producing metal sounds, yet still retains the warmth and crunch that Marshall is known for. Amps like the Mesa Dual Rec are great for metal, but I find the tone to be too dry and stale for any other styles... I'm loving my DSL40C. It's very versatile.

Its very good man, yea its that valve sound that makes it sound so alive and clear. Very versitile . Its great to own this and sounds better in person by yourself i think also.

Sicher eine Custom Shop Paula, da sie dort immer die beinahe Orangfarbenen Toggle Switch Kappen abnehmen, damit sie im Shop keiner mitgehen lässt ;)
I prefer every Marshall (or Marshallstyle, medium gain hardrock) amp, with right EQ and an boost to every "metal amp" on the market.
this combination is ultra dynamic and can also Produce the balls and low end of a "metal amp"

der 8100 ist legendär. chuck schuldiner hat den gespielt, und die sind zuweilen schon für 150-200 tacken zu finden.
Der Amp harmoniert wirklich gut mit einer les Paul style Gitarre.. Gerade mit dem v-type speaker. Mit single coils wäre es oft zu dünn oder spitz

ich weis nicht ob das video kommt, aber die classic vibes kann ich dir vollen herzens empfehlen! für den preis unglaubliche instrumente, können locker mit mexico fenders mithalten. je nachdem noch neue pickups und du bist soundweise schon fast auf american standard niveau. zur CV surf strat hat der olli schon ein video gemacht btw.

The closed captioning for this video is useless. According to youtube, he was going between talking about his grandmother and what he does on the weekends, which I am sure isn't what he was saying.

Hey nice Video man_greetings from Austria. One Question: I bought the Dsl40cr same as yours, but there is a lot of fizz and that only goes away when i crank the amp. But i want to play in my apartment with a good distortion quiet without that fizzyness. WOUld it help to change the Vtype speaker to an Eminence texas heat or creamback like u have done it? Appreciate very much if you or someone knows...
Die günstigste Lösung ist ein günstiges eq Pedal im fx Loop(zb Harley Benton) einfach den Level Regler vom eq ganz runter drehen (bis Minus 15 DB) andere speaker machen den amp nicht leiser glaub mir .... Greets from Innsbruck
@@vijaythurner7516 Ok dank;)hst du den amp? Mit erschließt es sich zwar nicht ganz wie du das meinst da man der amp eh mastervolume hat. Oder meinst du das der Dsl gepusht werden muss spruch die Vorstufe voll aufgdrehen-endstufe weiter aufdrehen und das eq pedal ganz runter drehen? Hat man dann einen guten Distortion sound leise? Grüße aus Salzburg
@@musik4life24 ich bin kein Techniker oder so also kann ich das leider nicht genau erklären... Aber der DSL blüht auf ab mastervolume 13 Uhr... Ich Regel die Lautstärke dann immer mit dem Channelvolume... Und mit eq im Loop bringt man den amp halt eher auf Zimmerlautstärke... Klingt komisch funktioniert aber... Falls du die Möglichkeit hast den amp Mal ordentlich aufzudrehen probier einfach Mal mastervolume auf 13 -14 Uhr und Channelvolume eben so weit bis es laut genug ist... Der amp klingt irgendwie viel besser wenn mastervolume ordentlich aufgedreht ist... Keine Ahnung warum... Ich mach das auch nur beim DSL so... Hoffe das hilft irgendwie haha... Greetzs
yeah great demo, i wish they made an amp with just the green clean/crunch channel for half the price.... the red channel would never get used by me, modded or not. Why cant marshall make a good affordable blues/rock amp only and just forget about the high gain garbage...
Olli ... warum spielst du mit einer customshop Les Paul ... iss ja klar das die zusammen mit dem Marshall AMP geil klingt .. für die größere bandbreite an Kunden wäre es viel interessanter wenn ihr mit ner Normalen Les Paul oder Normalen SG std spielt .... aber auch mal mit ner ephiphone ... um den sound etwas breit gefächerter zu zeigen ....
Was sind das alles für Riffs die du da im Video spielst? Hört sich gut an. Hast du die erfunden oder sogar einfach improvisiert? Oder gibt es die Tabs dafür? Würde mich mal interessieren.

i think the pickups are Gibson Custombuckers..cause it is a collector's choice..i think..
also ich hab das Ding nun seit nem halben Jahr bei uns im Proberaum im Einsatz und kann den Amp nur empfehlen. Für den Preis findet ihr kaum einen besseren Allrounder. Den knackigen Marshall Sound gibts Gratis dazu :)

Macht mal bitte ein Review über die Squier Classic Vibe- Serie , besonders über die Telecaster in Butterscotch Blonde. Ich überlege nämlich, mir die Gitarre zu kaufen, weil sie denke ich ein guter Einstieg in Countrygitarre ist.

Hm ist wirklich schwer zu erkennen, aber sieht für mich nicht nach einer figured top aus, wobei bei der CC#6 der Übergang der zwei Hälften ziemlich sanft ist. Da gibt wohl die Qualität von TH-cam nicht genug her :D

***** Marshall ist eher eine Marke mit der man Metall und hard rock und so etwas spielt. Ich würde mir wenn es mir um den Ton im clean Modus geht mir lieber einen Fender amp holen ;)! Fender hat einen guten clean Sound, höhrt sich aber auch gut im Overdrive Modus gut an. Wenn du wirklich NUR einen cleanen Sound haben willst, würde ich mir einen VOX Amp holen :)!
Jede Marke ist finde ich für eine bestimmte Musikrichtung gut :)!
Wenn du einen Amp für d Absoluten CLEAN sound suchst , probier d ROLAND JC 120 oder JC 40 !! ( THE POLICE ) Alles andere kommt da nicht ran !

der ist clean ganz geil und verzerrt ist der auch ganz geil. aber der klingt nur laut gut leise nicht so der hit. aber für das geld finde ich den ganz akzeptabel.
Ich weiß nicht, was mein DSL40c falsch macht... Ich habe das gleiche Modell, allerdings ist der Crunch und Lead Sound sowas von für die Tonne, da frage ich mich, wie er diesen Sound aus dem Amp bekommt...
Kann das sein, dass ich nen Montagsprodukt erhalten habe, oder bearbeiten die so viel nach im Video?
Könnte sein das d Lautsprecher-Speaker noch nicht ordendlich eingespielt ist ?

+Daniel T. Vasconcelos Or you could use a power attenuator with this amp to bring the volume down without affecting tone but bringing the master volume up more along with the preamp volumes up. Master volume up high without attenuator is very loud obviously, but with attenuator adjusted, it sounds fantastic.

No problem. And of course! You can use it with any tube amp really. Just make sure you match the impedance of the attenator with your amp (this is important). Check out the Rivera Rockcrusher on youtube. It's awesome!

Wenn du ordentlich Gain magst, dann nimm den Marshall. Wenn dir saubere Cleantöne wichtig sind, dann den Fender.

ich habe genau diese guitarre, auch bei session, vor 3 wochen gekauft..und ich kann nur sagen: kauf es...kauf es einfach..ganz einfach: kaufen...ja ok, man muss dafur geld ausgeben naja perfekt ist ja niemand..aber ausserdem gibts einfach keine negativs...einfach kaufen
Brauche ich bei diesem Amp noch irgendwelche Pedale um ihn auf schönen high gain Overdrive sound zu bringen?
Nicht unbedingt, denn der Amp hat ordentliche Gain-Reserven.
