Another excellent Epic Batrep! Gordon needs to remember the rules for Imperial Guard players especially when fighting Orks: You always bring as many Infantry and Artillery companies as you can! Lol

I’ve always been drawn to vehicles over infantry and artillery and the Stormhammers didn’t even get a chance to do damage - that’s a lot of VPs handed over for nothing! Those Deathstrikes were nearly enough to grab the draw, if I’d only picked off a few more Bad Moons, it would have been assured! Still, can’t win them all! ~ Gordon
Rough Riders again! I’d suggest trying 2 companies next time, but they’d just trip over each others hoofs 😂 Finally got an engine kill though, so that’s cool, even though it was a small one. The Gargant seemed to be really ineffectual, felt like wasted points. That was so much fun to watch, thanks again guys! (It’s also cool to see Crown of Command in the comments, I love their Epic/ old-school Necromunda stuff)
Apologies that I missed your comment until now! Yeah, Gargants do tend to struggle because a lot of their weapons are 50cm range. The fact that it barely featured makes my defeat even more crushing! Moving on… 😂😢 Yes, Crown of Command is fantastic and I’d recommend their channel to anyone who’s missed it until now - and please give them a sub if you check them out! I owe Josh a debt of gratitude because I featured on an episode of his podcast during covid and that led me to start my own podcast! I’ve mostly only watched his epic/necromunda reports, plus a handful of painting guides. Tbh, I came across his channel in a FB group a few years back where he was looking to buy a set of Mekboy Repair cards. I had a spare set so I just gave them to him. Decided to look up Crown of Command after that, and what I’ve seen is great. Really cool that he’s fostered others in the community, it’s so good to see old systems being encouraged like that. I’m glad you decided to start your own podcast up too, I’ve been really enjoying it (although not as often as I’d like, for some reason the missus isn’t all that interested in watching battle reports and the like on the big TV 🤔😂)
@@thesmoog734 Yes, I don’t get to watch as much CoC as I would like to but I always tune in for the Epic reports as they’re always fun! And cheers for the interest about the podcast, I really enjoyed the conversations I had on there, especially the ones where I spoke to Andy Chambers and Gav Thorpe about the 2000AD games - it was pretty amazing getting that kind of access to industry legends! Unfortunately I didn’t enjoy the sound editing so that was another reason why I pushed on with the videos. And yes, I can understand why your wife isn’t too interested in hearing me waffle on a load of rubbish on her tv as my own wife would agree with her! 😂 ~ Gordon
Ah, thanks so much for watching and for the question! I’m not sure how much you know about both systems so my answer may be fuller than you require:- Net Epic is the fan version of 2nd Edition Epic while Net Epic Armageddon is the fan version of Epic: Armageddon (4th Edition). The simplest answer is that I grew up with 2nd and, by the time E:A was released, I had dropped away from the hobby (although I still played the occasional game of Net Epic a few times a year). When I returned, most of the Epic community were playing E:A so I had a few games of it. The big problem with E:A was that I couldn’t get my head around the rules about supporting fire which is a kind of crossfire-type rule. Also, I wasn’t interested in tournaments and my friends were happy enough with Net Epic so we just stuck to our old ways! I’m not trying to put E:A down though as I’ve heard a lot of good things about it! Just to confuse matters further, we started playing Legions Imperialis recently and, going forward, are going to be playing Legions Imperialis 40K which is our own mod to those rules where we use Net Epic/2nd Edition armies and stat lines with the Legions Imperialis core rules.
