Great video guys. very interested in the discussion and the concepts you are talking about. Will look out for the trial rules and will give then a few play tests.Keep up the great work.
Ah, thank you for the interest! When they’re ready, I’ll drop a reply to you with the link! And that would be amazing to get feedback on the play testing! Which factions do you have and do you already have access to the LI rules? ~ Gordon
@@LifeofDie That would be great, thanks. In regard to factions I have SM, Ork, IG, Tyranids, Eldar. Have not purchased LI as after watching a number of reviews and battle reports plus the price tag I held off. Cheers Guys.
@@simp2935 I’ve been trying without success to find a fan version of the LI rules (someone will be doing this I think because the rules aren’t that clear in places). This document is what we have so far - but I don’t think it will help you that much as you don’t have the LI rulebook:- docs.google.com/document/d/1LOYtEr9arop8CmwW6rzX5wkXzh_G8cMAFTyCJ4FDKHE/edit If I can find a fan version, then a proper version of the LI40K rules can be put together! ~ Gordon
@@Anglerwave Thanks for the question! I can’t speak for Craig, but I do find the multiple stat lines on LI units tend to slow play down somewhat and, because I’m not as young as I once was, it’s easier to play with the older army lists due to me not even having to refer to stat lines at all as many are ingrained in my memory. We also find that this allows us to throw down larger armies on the tabletop and that it has more of that Epic feel that we’ve always loved. That’s said, I wouldn’t be against trying out LI proper versions of all other forces, just that we are really enjoying the balance of the game with our classic line ups. I also wish to clarify that I say none of the above as any criticism of LI proper as the three battle reports we did were good fun, even if we did make errors. It’s a personal preference thing and we love that there are so many Epic fans that have their personal favourite systems which all deliver different takes on the game! What about yourself, if they were to add more factions, which would you prefer to play? ~ Gordon
@@makinote Cheers for the question! Yeah, sorry, but despite playing a few times, I just couldn’t get into E:A, mostly because I found the rules about supporting fire difficult to get my head around. I have nothing against E:A though, and I know there’s a great community out there for it and many people agree with you! The way I look at it, it’s great that there’s different versions of Epic out there for fans to enjoy. 2nd Edition / Net Epic were what myself and Craig always played and we spotted an opportunity here to combine the two as LI rules mostly built off that system and improved things in some areas while 2nd / NE armies (surprisingly for a system that has been criticised in the past for having too much detail) are more streamlined than LI stat lines so speeds play. As for Horus Heresy, we have all of these 40K armies sitting there so HH feels very limited with so few factions. Again, no disrespect is intended towards E:A or any other system as we’d encourage all players to play what they enjoy! ~ Gordon
@@LifeofDie no disrepect at all, everyone has his preferences :) I started playing epic when epic 40k was released and that's why I prefer that ruleset and later armageddon
@@makinote Yes, I played 1st and 2nd but missed out on Epic 40K - although it’s one Craig and I have talked about trying out because we’ve heard great things about it as well! 2nd really was my favourite which is why we’ve never really moved on. ~ Gordon

Hi, thanks for this, I’ll see what I can pick up from the web in regard to missing specific LI rules and then see how these play out. Cheers
If the LI introduced other classic hammer factions, would you scrap or modify closer off LI?

why Legions Imperialis 40k and not Epic Armageddon Horus Heresy? the old ruleset is superior :)
