Another excellent video Tim. I don't know where you find not only the physical strength and mental strength, but also the time to keep soldiering on with your never ending DIY projects. I know from personal experience, that it isn't easy mixing DIY with more mundane (but necessary) things such as work and family life. Well done!

Very nice. I love seeing it come together. Watching Jo get on an off that roof was like watching my wife do the very same thing a few years back...I still rib her about it to this day.

I broke out laughing when you said "I will let you know if we need to lift it off again". I too have a fear of heights but I can handle a one story flat roof. Jo was brave to go up there; many would have said, call a friend.

We’re just about to install one of these but we have a felt roof with the upstand having felt on it rather then rubber. Do you think that will be okay?
Also do those screws just go into the packers or into the upstand too?

Rubber for roofs are great.
Hi, how much tolerance do you get around the whole thing? for example if you have a 1000mm x 1000mm external measure of your upstand what does the skylight frame come at? For example say 1010mm x 1010mm do you get plenty of tolerance is the question.

Late nights this week? I’ve been watching you for ages. When have you ever had an early night? 😂 By the way my wife is terrified of heights as well . Just about gets a nosebleed if she has to climb on a chair. 👍
What was the material used on the corners of the skylight?
I am puzzled as to why the squishy foam rubber seal is a different thickness as it goes around the upstand frame. Also at one point in the video you appear to be attaching it to the side of the frame rather than the top. Should the foam strip be uniform and sit on top?
It is expanding foam tape. It expands after you unroll it. So the thicker bit has just had more time to expand. It will compress down once the window is put on.
Why rubber roof instead of GRP?

Safety codes and good practice dictates that the roof edge is protected either with a scaffold or barrier and that the ladder is tied in position. A fall from the roof of a single storey building can kill or disable anyone and it seems both foolhardy and arrogant to encourage anyone that is clearly uncomfortable about roof access to scale a roof without the very basic of safety conditions.

She would then say do it your self and storm off. You did very well keeping your cool while being stressed and busy trying to get stuff done.
