    I'd definitely fit the circular bit first then cover with top layer

    Where's you're base tie in or termination fasteners with plates??? You should use a penny roller to establish the angle changes

    My concern is how did you attach to that curb. Glue? Peels off , corner rips in angle due to zero reinforcement.

      Crap Product, when memory kicks in with the corner patch, it will pull and de bond Fact !

    Wouldn't it be better if the corner seal patch went on before the upstand no?

      @@leeingham4371 sa should not go over form flash and rubber should not be on top of any .. for me I dont use the sa for corners as there is no need I over lap the rubber join with 3 inch splice tape and the flash the joint the sa is not needed in this application it could be worse tho he could of done this way without sa then it would of failed within five years

      Yes then you got more security... But like this you get more change of a leak

    why does the first patch not go tight onto the deck?

    • @detumaki
      @detumaki 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It cant handle angles at all and will create small gaps that will leak.

    Roofer here, all single-ply systems that just rely on primers and glue are shite especially for the British climate the main problem is the installation as you need near perfect weather conditions to install bone dry no moisture at all in your upstands at the end of the day you are relaying on glue to keep it on the roof and to keep all joints water tight a big ask as all single-ply roofs expand and contract alot with winter/summer

      What system do you recommend?

    • @rcteryx
      @rcteryx 29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      A heat welded system far superior or a liquid pvc

      @@rcteryx cool, I have a roll that I am currently experimenting with some practice mock up. Seems good, I just don’t like my roof setup. It’s a pitched zinc roof with flat roof dormers that have a parapet, I’m struggling to find a nice detail to transition from pitched roof to flat roof.

    Not great technique with that corner but it probably wont pop out for a while at least before the check clears

      We still lap seal as per Firestone spec for commercial spec it's not out dated its needed it's just the residential market is to a lower standard

    I usually use the Firestone system, I’ve got to say the two are identical I don’t o ow if that’s because they are actually the same product? The only thing I noticed different was the plastic backing film on the first flashing... I once rectified a job done after a cowboy had been up there, two days after it had been fitted.. an absolute mess... I thought the system he had used was Firestone except the flashings he had left behind had the plastic instead of paper foils... epdm gets too much stigma on these videos because idiots like the one mentioned above think it’s easy to do...

    Do not buy this crap! The adhesive is not holding the membrane! And the worst part is that you won't get any support if you have any problems! The Hertalan will simply ignore your emails, that is what happened to me.

    • @samgreig6947
      @samgreig6947 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hertanlan is a different product and company mate... sounds like you probably went for the cheapest option and now paying the price 😖 do some research, do a course, then see if it doesn’t work 👍🏻

      Iv got Firestone roofs 15 years old up to 1000 square meters still the same as the day they were laid it's the person laying it not the product
