I didn’t agree with his religious beliefs - but there’s absolute truth in his words.
This is a secular religion. They are absolutely convinced of their righteousness and moral superiority. It’s gives legitimacy to their tyranny and destruction of people.

Going back to the olden days, many of the Monty Python skits could never be done today. Or movies like the Pink Panther series with Peter Sellers and,Herbert Lom, could never be produced today.

Woke liberals will talk about minorities like they are small children who need to be assisted with every aspect of their lives. They don't think we should have to show ID to vote in the US, because "Black people don't know how to get a driver's license or a state ID"! Even Kamala Harris has said this.
What they said about being condescending was spot on. It is literally calling someone inferior if you say it's offensive to joke about them. I have a freind who's deaf, I met him in a pub and I could see him lip reading so I jokingly mimed, "ya deaf cu#t" when he missed what I said. We laughed and became freinds and I think partly because I didn't condescend him.
Yeah, I think it's important to know if someone can take a joke before you say it, but not to the point where you're just caring for them constantly if they don't need or want it.

You got that backwards, they started out "cancelling" the dead since they were such easy, and the ultimately defenseless, targets. Then they moved on to live victims after gaining a bit of confidence steam from their earlier "triumphs"..
They'll keep going back to the dead, however, for little ego refreshers whenever they accidentally face a live one who actually defends themselves.
The idiocy in cancelling dead people is the dismissal of the passsage of time and the failure to understand American culture and thought during the times said dead people lived in. It makes no sense at all.

I grew up in the cult known as Jehovahs witnesses and they had a similar mentality as woke. They have a moral trump card to control others behavior. You could wear a red dress and a moral superior thinks it is brazen to wear red and say “I am stumbled”. If you stumble someone you are pulled into the back room. You could say “but it’s just a red dress, nothing is wrong with it? But the response is “is wearing that dress more important than someone’s life?” Woke mentality feels like this to me. You are afraid to step one foot in front of the other for fear of “triggering” someone. What’s sad is that I accept everyone and love everyone and a lot of the people who are cancelled are accepting of everyone. They just made a joke to make people laugh.

That "walking on eggshells" that you describe is the exact same thing, and anyone who has survived and recovered from domestic narcissistic abuse will emphatically agree. Cults and despots all operate the same way.

In another interview John Cleese quotes someone (forgive me I forget who) saying if people can’t control their emotions, they will try to control others emotions which is sort of this cancel culture we are in now. No one is allowed to be offended. This reminded me so much of being in the Jehovah’s Witness cult - people would confuse think preferences should be met by using this trump card of “you are stumbling me”. I gave the example how an an older woman in the congregation has this idea that red is a brazen colour and has stumbled her then my reasoning that there is nothing wrong with it so I ought to be able to wear it - even if it offends her, was reasoned with “is her life (stumbling her faith) really worth less than wearing that red dress).”

The fact that a few episodes of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia got "banned" from Hulu probably just caused their DVD/BluRay sales to go up, and also definitely caused some youtube reactors to react to the "banned episodes". Some of those youtube reactors are black btw...and I am fairly certain that in every video I saw, they were laughing heavily when watching the banned content. And not that that awkward fake laughter...that visceral: "that is so hilariously messed up" kind of laughter.
