Love the porcupine and the baby geese. Looks like the youngins were having fun. Those waterfalls are beautiful!! Beautiful scenery!! Cute monkeys in the pine tree. 😁. Enjoyed immensely.

Funny. The monkeys had a blast and the grandmonkey was grinning from ear to ear.

I discovered your channel because I JUST saw you parked at the Walmart in Cañon City, Colorado!!
I was like “Check out that sweet rig!!”
I’m looking forward to following your adventures. 😃👍🏻

That’s great! There’s a scout show over in Salida tomorrow at the fairgrounds. You should come on over. There’s some awesome rigs here.

Hey 👋, VW Thing sounds good to me. LoL. I like your Scout. Steering is important, good job on finding that! I hope to get up to Washington State next year and I’ve been dreaming on a Alaska adventure. ☮️ Brother

We just keep chugging along. There's been times that the reality of the distance get's overwhelming in the Scout so we just focus on the next 200 miles. You do that enough times and you'll be in Alaska.

Thanks man. Not picture perfect but she’s got the heart of a little tank.

Sounds like you covered most of the bases with run on, but sometimes it can be as simple as the throttle plates are open too much. Try turning the base idle down just a smidge.

I’ve almost got it fixed. Combination of running premium fuel and I have the idle a smidge too low. I run with the choke pulled just a fraction so it doesn’t die at red lights but when I want to shut it down I push the choke the whole way and let it start to die. Seems to clear the excess fuel and then no run on. 👍 most of the time. 😂

@@vintageoverlanding lol. That works. Kind of a work around. I would check the engine over for possible vacuum leaks as well. Could be some air sneaking in somewhere causing a fat idle. Enjoy the videos!!

We had to adjust the drag link ends on my son’s 66’ scout 800 and it helped a bunch. Watch the pitman arm ball so it doesn’t break due to long term wear. Good luck this summer in the cool country while we burn up in the Texas heat.

I can’t imagine the heat there. It’s getting to the point that we’ve stopped calling the teardrop Dingleberry and have started calling it the Easy Bake Oven.

Could that wire be the original temp sending unit wire to the temp gauge? It looks like the sending unit you have has a terminal connector on it.

Thanks, yes absolutely I think that’s what it was because the black clip had a notch in it to slide over the top connector on the sensor. For some reason a previous owner has put in an aftermarket temp sensor and gauge and wired it differently. I bet if I pull out that gauge there will be a wire behind it that is unused that goes through the fire wall. Thank you! Good eye!
