    Sounds good with IWG. Subies sound good with IWG and EWG. Great video pal.

      It has an EWG setup with the dump tube routed back into the down-pipe after the catalytic converter. It is not IWG.

      What was your reasoning for doing after the cat? Not enough space or room for the air to come back in without disrupting flow? Or would it affect the cat?

      Patrick just less restrictive flow

    I know this has been a couple years, but what kind of times were you running then?

    What type of BOV are you using? Are you happy with your choice of turbo? I'm doing research for my build.

      Tial Q bov. Yes, I am very happy with the turbo.

    why did you go with 8.2:1 CR? its not a big diff but i though E85 would like higher CR. awesome car either way

      These engines have some heat issues already and I've not been impressed with the benefits of higher compression in this application.

      cassiusclayd cool thanks for the insight.

    sounds like you have a bit of turbo surge

    • @claysautos
      @claysautos  9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      it's just chop from the BOV staying closed when I let off at low boost levels. The surge you need to worry about is under throttle.

      What spring do you have in the tial q?

    • @claysautos
      @claysautos  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I honestly don't remember which spring is in it.

      Is it dumping all the compressed air fully out of the induction pipe?
      There was a guy who owned a skyline (Make irrelevant) running a HKS turbo saying not using a BOV & surge didn't have an impact of turbo longevity or as he said to me "Misinformed" any truth or not?
      I personally have to disagree.

      Neal Willey there are two different types of "surge." The damaging surge happens under heavy boost, sometimes even while the throttle plate is open. This puts a tremendous strain on the "cartridge" of the turbo as there are opposing forces on the compressor and turbine side. What you are hearing on my car is under very low boost or partial-throttle slow closing of the throttle. The BOV is functioning fine, there is just not enough pressure differential to open the valve. The reason it is so audible on my car is because, along with being rotated, my turbo is raised 3 inches and I have a chambered SPT muffler which is extremely quiet. It's perfectly safe for the turbo. Anything above ~7-8 PSI it vents.
