TH-cam is already full with bullshit as it is. i am just trying to share knowledge. as for your question, yes, the pump is more then adequate, only problem i had with this was a burnt heating element, but it does come with a spare element, so not a problem. all and all, a great little gadget, i do recommend

    I have to agree with others who have commented. One of the most honest, no holes barred, reviews that I have seen. I wish others were as honest as you when it comes to describing the failures of crappy Chinese "Quality Control"!!! They just don't get it....they have the skill set and the knowledge to do it right, but I guess at $1.00??/day wages, this is the type of "QUALITY" you can expect. Pointing out the failures such as the switching the neutral line may just have saved some poor suckers life... the link to this video should be part of the warning labels they hopefully attached. I'm subscribing to your channel to see what other failures you may have discovered in other products and BTW to get some really good laughs!!

    Thanks mate! It was very good review. I received my Yihua 948 yesterday and the first problem I had is the one of the nozzles missing(1.2mm -most used one and it is in the package list). still, it's better than buying a hako for 3x the price. btw, the iron that comes with this station will automatically enter sleep mode if you don't move it, something i forgot to maintain in my review. all and all it is a great cheap little station. just make sure it's all fine inside before you plug it in. enjoy your tinkering ;-)

    Looks like you get a factory reject. Normally the factory sell these off very cheap, than troubleshoot. The buyer is told, and need to take the risk and fix it himself. But a lot are picked up by traders and sell them online on English platform.

      Check all of the connections inside and make sure all of the components are soldered correctly, hopefully it's just something loose. Also, this is not a multi voltage device, so it's either 220v or 110v, check that you have the correct one. Good luck

    Hi ! thank you so much for this very interesting review. I am buying one even if i see another 948D model and wonder which are the differences.
    Regarding the Neutral and Live connections consider tha the mains power plug can be rotated (at least schuko plug and also italian one ... they are simmetrical differently from UK and US plugs)
    So it is very possible that L and N result reversed. Thank you for the valuable advice. Regards, gino

    • @tsope1
      @tsope1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hi, as far as i know, the "d" uses a power supply instead of a transformer and it's the newer model, but they are both have the same functions, so i'll go for the older one since it is cheaper and imo simpler is better, less things to go wrong.
      as far as the l&n, it has a kettle plug in the back which can only be plugged in one way, so the l&n was definitely reversed. thanks for watching and have a good one

    Thanks for the review. I bought one today and when desoldering using very smoky solder, smoke comes out the side vents of the 948. It happens only when desoldering so I think it’s just the solder smoke, but this is disconcerting because it looks just like the 948 is frying. Have you seen this with yours? I’m considering returning mine for a more expensive Hakko.

    • @tsope1
      @tsope1  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      well, i say, repeat the process with the lid off and see were the smoke is coming from. the hako is obviously better, but for low usage i don't think it's necessary at all. if you are desoldering alot, I'd say, go for the hako

    Hello,
    Your "presentation" had me LMAO, obviously the good folks at TH-cam don't mind too much.
    As is the case with a lot of this "Chinesium" the seller or source varies and so does what comes with it. So I'll have to check to make sure the extra heating element is included.
    It's 2022 and now prices are higher - Please tell me how fast did the first one fail??
    Is the unit still working now?? -- And how well??
    Do the tips last?? -- Or should I buy extra's??
    Any other problems??
    Thanks for your reply.
    Jack

    • @tsope1
      @tsope1  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      hihi, i had too much fun with this review... tbh, the heating element only failed because i used it on max for about 10min trying to remove caps of a power supply who had a huge ground plane, i guess i was asking too much out of this puppy. btw, it still works. so, if you won't max it, which for normal stuff you never need too, you should be fine. oh, and as for the tips, i only use one of them and never had any problems with it, other than the fact that it always screws off, and i always remember to tighten it only after it is already hot, hihi, but then i just use my pliers. i guess it's batter that it always comes loss then it getting stuck... other than that it works great, and the solder that comes with it has a sleep mode, so if you don't touch it it cools down to save the tip and eventually it shut down completely, great for when you drink too much

    Chinese quality control is practically non existent on a lot of their products but as you say it's cheap the workmanship is just not there but if you buy one assumes you are capable of self repair. After all the person using it should be somewhat electronics trained and if not one asks the question why are you buying the item ?

    • @tsope1
