    Errrrrrr. Where do you remove the TWO RED SAFETY screws UNDERNEATH BEFORE TURNING IT ON. And also cut loose the cable tie on the bottom?????

      Check the label on the top. It's the only screws if I remember

      I dont think he did Seggie, thats why it was making that horrendous noise ....would love to be a fly on the wall during the " massive soldering project " ....lol

      It was massive in my perspective, and these were LED staircase lights

      @@notenoughtech Not jibing you sir. I am simply direct. "You didn't remove the transport screw that's why its rattling like a dying breath" would have been even more clear. Easy to miss.

    Hi, I got my solder station yesterday works perfectly.The noise you were experiencing must have been 2 screws underneath the solder station you have to remove them before you start.

    • @notenoughtech

      Awesome thanks for the tip. Have you seen anything in the manual about it? I must have missed it

      There is a sticker on the top of the solder station making you aware of it, well there is on mine in red lettering.

    So first thank you very Much I was just looking for a good soldiering station and i think I’ll go for this one but I have a question so on all the listing I couldn’t find if it has a speed controls for the fume extractor or for the heat gun please can you answer also good video

    • @notenoughtech
      @notenoughtech  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is a visual bar that tells you the power of the extractor there are no numeric values, and to control it you use the knob.

      I've had a concern about the screws because there are two of them and after removing both of them something seemed to wiggle inside

    Thanks for the quick answer i have seen other videos and they do not seem to be as noisy as the one you have? but im thinking about purchasing one .I will let you know after i get mine if the nosie is the same .Thanks again

    • @notenoughtech
      @notenoughtech  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Cable is long and the fume extraction needs 30% at most to get the fumes out. At that speed it's reasonably quiet

  • @StalkerTony88
    @StalkerTony88 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hello NotEnoughTech I have your own welding machine I arrived in these days I noticed that the air is not very strong if used without adapters, it may be that it is defective? To give you an example by putting a tissue paper on a floor can not even move it with the air or hot or cold, you do the same thing or is just a problem of mine, thanks

    • @notenoughtech
      @notenoughtech  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The airflow without adapters is spread. You should be able to feel the hot air blowing over your skin with adapters from approximately 15cm. you don't want to blow off the smd components from the PCB. it's more about applying the heat without applying a force

    • @StalkerTony88
      @StalkerTony88 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@notenoughtech so the air that comes out without adapters is normal that comes out little, with the adapter I have no problems the air comes out normal because compressed, right?

    • @notenoughtech
      @notenoughtech  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. Remember this is not a heat gun... Don't expect to dry hair with it... Although you can comfortably fix broken lipsticks (don't ask).
      Get a proto board some solder paste and smd components if you are able to weld it at 400C I'd assume all is great

    • @notenoughtech
      @notenoughtech  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I love it! Ever since I removed the transport screw, I had no complaints. I have been using it for all my projects, even fixing lipsticks for my wife with the heat gun. It makes ironing so much faster and better. so yeah hands down great product. Extra love if you end up using my link

      Pleasure! Hope you will enjoy the iron. With my previous $40 one I thought I'm just bad with the ironing.... nope its down to the tools you are using too.

    • @kraio-sfu
      @kraio-sfu 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      NotEnoughTECH I figured it was, haha. It’s a relief to find a tool that is semi-affordable, effective, and reliable. I was so used to Dave from EEVBlog ranting and raving about needing expensive tools that I figured I was going to need to spend $700 on three different Weller tools.
      Bit of an unrelated question: is there any way to calibrate the temperature readings and such? I haven’t quite seen anything about such a setting

    • @notenoughtech
      @notenoughtech  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I won't deny that expensive tools are worth it, however, we all aim for what we can pay for. I rather have a sub $200 iron and $500 for projects than $700 iron to stare at.
      If I'm honest i remember seeing something in the manual about it, but temp settings were spot on with the melting point so far. I'm not bothered about 10C really, as long as I'm safe with components. I'd have to dig out the manual to be sure.

      +Keith Warren so far no issues. I had few jobs including fixing a broken lipstick haha :)
      The extraction pump is loud and vibrates a bit when on highest setting but I found 20-30% to be sufficient for normal operation.

      @@notenoughtech Thanks for the reply. One more thing, are you able to swap out the iron for one without the suction. Like a stand alone iron with the same # of pins. Just tought i ask because it looks like it's kind of in the way.

    • @notenoughtech
      @notenoughtech  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it uses standard connector. Also you can pull back on extractor pipe so it's not in the way for more fine work. Btw check out the review on TS80 on my page if you are looking for something portable
