Thank you for a great video. Just did my 2021 Road King’s rear tire. Saved $400 on labor at the dealer. Especially grateful for the torque specs on the bolts.
Kyle this is so helpful! My big question is how you are supporting the rear with the Jack Stands? I need to take the front and rear wheels off to have the tires replaced, but not sure how to safely secure the bike in the rear while working on the front.
Thanks for the video. It will be very helpful to me in the spring. I will be taking my tires off myself for the first time. I have never done it before, always taken to dealer. But I want to do more things myself. Nice video. 👍
Good stuff, I'm over 2000 miles from home with a blown front wheel bearing on a '21 Road King and do NOT want to chance the ride to the nearest shop. Buddy nearby with a truck, Harbor Freight nearby with a lift, a few hand tools, your video, and off I go. Thanks!
Hate to hear that you were stuck in a shitty situation, but SO glad that you found my video helpful to get the job done and get back on the road🤘🏻 Ride Safe and have safe travels !
Thank you for a very informative and entertaining video. I have a dolly and I do not strap the bike. Would you recommend strapping it before removing the front tire?
honestly without looking I am not sure off of the top of my head. Sorry! However the tire is directional so maybe that can assist you? Unless you’re changing bearings out. Then someone that knows can chime in hopefully?
Great video! question. Did you have to lubricate the axel shaft before installing it, or did you just dry dock it? Some say to greaser it up with some axel grease of your choice, and others just say dry is just fine.
You can either find them on most Harley forums, through your service department if their nice to you or if all else fails you can buy a service manual through Harley! Thanks for watching.
Great video, thank you! Does it matter which way the grooves on the spacer face (left side if your looking at the bike). It looked like before disassembly, they were closer to the fork side but on reassembly they were closer to the tire side.
i''m not sure if its grooved differently or not, but I would make sure the lines on the spacer is re-installed the same way it was beforehand. I wouldn't take a chance. Maybe someone can chime in, if they know a little bit more about that
Mechanic at Harley told me it makes no difference, the grooves are for identification. BUT I read somewhere that the repair manual says to have the grooves on the fork side. I don’t have a manual so I can’t verify. Anyone have info?
@@bthph88 @vincethrill457 From looking at it with a naked eye I couldn't see a noticeable difference. However just looked it up in the service manual it says "See Figure 3-3. Install outer spacers (2) with grooves on the outboard side." So according to that id install it as such
Are you sure you loosen the pinch clamp? Maybe too much weight still on the front wheel? Or screw the axel nut on a little bit and try to tap it out with a mallet
@MotoHeadKyle i complete removed the pinch clamp. And i tapped on it with the mallet. I had to keep hitting it with the mallet until it came off. Does it need to have grease for lube? Cus mine was pretty dry
@@juliocordero1788I’d clean off whatever residue is on the axel and re-apply some silver anti-seize, that should help the next time you have to remove it
Super confused none of my Allen’s fit the pinch bolt screw. I removed it some how but can’t get it on. It doesn’t look stripped but none of my Allen fit with out spinning
He left out one very important thing....the front tire wouldn't clear the fender....so how did he stabilize the bike while loosing the wheel clamp & jacking up the scissor jack under the frame...I don't see any ratchet straps stabilizing the bike. That scissor jack would have to be positioned perfectly in the frame for good balance. That would be hard to do with the front wheel tightened in the clamp....be careful out there guys if you loosen that wheel clamp & it's not balanced perfectly & not secured down properly, it's going to fall!
Strange. You mention in your video to take pictures of the spacers, but you've installed the front (brake lever side) spacer backwards. Grooves on external spacers should be on the outside according to the service manual.
Thanks for watching! Hopefully it was helpful for some of yous! Please feel free to share the video so it can help others!

Wow great quality video! 4K! Moving on up! Very helpful. Step by step! Thanks Kyle!
Thank you! Finally able to try some new settings, glad you found the video helpful!
Great video. Where did you find those extension wings for your motorcycle lift? Thanks

Absolutely! You feel so much more accomplished and connected to your bike. Hopefully this video will make doing so a breeze! Thanks for watching Roy!

So... On the off chance that a dumbass like myself did... Long story.. what's the fix?
Thank you so much…my axle hole was facing up causing some weird noise…your vid fixed it hopefully
You’re welcome!
Thank you for a very informative and entertaining video. I have a dolly and I do not strap the bike. Would you recommend strapping it before removing the front tire?
Thank you Jose! I personally probably would throw a strap up over the seat. with some towels protecting the side covers. Better to be safe than sorry!
Just a thought that it's an excellent time to check your bearings when you have the tire off.
Great video! Wheel bearing, what color bearing is the abs side. I have a dark/black bearing on one side and metal/tannish color on the other side.

What lift is that? Great video, thanks!
Thank you! It’s a harbor freight lift!

I cleaned it off and put a new coat of anti seeze on it
Again a lot of good information thanks a lot
Thank you! Thanks for watching!
What type of tire do you end up going with?
Great video your a great mechanic you definitely know your bikes
Thanks Steve!
Where did you find the torque Specs? Also great video, thanks for sharing

Ber with the cameo!!! Great video
ABS sensor... flat side in, shiny side out. Taken a photo, I should have. Thanks! Also, double torquing is not needed.
Thanks! I just always double check everything

Yes, sorry I’m just replying. The rings should be closest to the fork. I messed that up, I caught it a day or so later. A+ for noticing!
@@MotoHeadKylewhat happens if t Jr e spaced is on with the grooves to the inside, versus facing the fork?

Excellent job Kyle good video!!
Thanks Eric! I appreciate that.
I have a brand new prodigy how do I put the bearing in? What side does the ABS Barron go on?
How did you add what looks like ramps to the side of your lift?
Thank you for making this video it helped me out a lot
Thank you for watching! I appreciate that
Where did you get the side extenders for the lift
Great video. Thanks for the great information!
Thank you! Thanks for watching!
Yall make it look soo easy. I been trying to remove my axle for an hour and it will not budge 😭

Good video. It may go without saying but make sure to NOT apply the brake while the calipers are off or you will have a bad day. Just a quick note.
Very true! Although it’s not hard to fix that, it still is another step and a pain in the a** when you realize it LOL thanks for watching!
Awesome video very detailed truly appreciate it👍👍
Thanks John! I appreciate that🤘🏻
What type of tire do you use?
Does a normal 10 mm socket work for the 12 face bolts?
Is blue loctite needed on any of the bolts before reassembly?
I usually do, sure won’t hurt
good video so much easier to pull fender takes 2 minutes.
What’s the looking wheel. What’s the name brand of it
Great video very helpful 👍🏽
Glad it was helpful!
Any reason you can see why my axle won’t fit through my spacer? Even with it not being on the bike…
How loose that front tire should be when up in the jack? Free spinning or somehow stiff?
Should be able to roll but will be somewhat stiff If you still have the calipers on
@@MotoHeadKyle Thanks brother!

Do you need to bleed to brake lines?
No, because you don’t disconnect the brake line
thank you for your information
Glad it didn't pitch itself off the lift without any tie downs on the front end at all. Waste of time bagging calipers. Sweet scoot though
nice job! thank you.
Thank you!🤘🏻
Thanks !!
You left out the right spacer and the abs sensor orientation.
Nice view of the local skyway….. too much painting going on now
thank you
