yeah that sounded peculiar to say the least, i mean, i dont know how i would act if i had the opportunity to buy a brand new gtr but from my experience with motorcycles you always have to do a break in period (not for the bike, most bikes nowadays can go to redline with no issue if you use good oil right from the dealership, the break in period is for the rider, ease into everything, dont end up wrapped in a tree etc) but im not a race car driver so what do i know ¯\_( ͡❛ ͜ʖ ͡❛)_/¯
@@renektop6820 r35s are known to break if you do donuts. The transfer case csnt handle it. Nothing to do with break in period. (Ofc its bad to hoon it with 50 miles on it)
@@PointlessDrummer Yeah I understand his specific problem may not have been directly caused by driving like a petulant child in the break in period, but come on, even my mother knows about not hooning it in the break in period, he was either knowingly or unknowingly destroying that car, and I can't decide which would be worse. Anyway, the next time he decides to destroy a brand new car with his race driver skillz, I hope he drives it off a cliff as to saves us all from having to look at his silly little face as he plays his own skin flute telling the internet what a big cool boy he is and how much he loves trying to defraud anything that walks. What an absolute fully rigged douchebag.
I feel bad for whoever wound up with that GTR in the end. That car lived a hard life.
Awh no GTR lives an easy life, they were built to be driven
You don't buy this car or any sports car to drive it like a bitch. If you DO drive it like a bitch, just know that you're the minority in that regard.
Every time I see an R35 they're always using launch control and doing stupid street racing shit. Those cars just attract those kind of owners.
@@darrylmac6150 apparently they're not as shown in the video lol
@@jimtekkit So if I get a GTR I should use it to get groceries? Dont get me wrong, people being annoying all the time i.e. revving, launch control, making noise, are assholes, but that is not a car to be used for a regular vehicle. Actually I drive my daily beater like a GTR too, because its MINE.
A few days in jail makes for a fun story to tell, but that fun moment could turn into a 10-year sentence in the GDC here in Georgia when someone dies. There are few worse experiences in life than having a State Patrol officer knocking on your door to tell you that a loved one has passed because a reckless driver was having fun. People that pass on double yellow lines are one of the reasons innocent people die needlessly. Think before you pass.
Money and “experience” will give you a false sense of security to let your guard down behind the wheel, ask James Dean or Paul Walker.
It's "customers" like this guy who fuxs shit up doing stupid shit and expects others take the financial hit are the scourge of the earth. Then he brags about it even...
It's the same guy that rented and exchanged multiple BMW's to drive on Nurburgring, then pretended that he knew nothing about the wear & tear, finally got busted by the rental company, then still tried to stop the cc charge in the back end....but ultimately eat the charges when cc company showed the documentation of damages he caused to the bimmers and the violation to the rental terms.
Yeah, dude seems like a douche who doesn't like to be told no. Crying about photographers ratting your friend out for them doing stupid stuff. Most of the photographers at Tail of the Dragon will give you photos if you were hit by someone being reckless. The photographers are trying to make a living on the mountain side. It's in their best interest to try and protect the area and promote safe driving.
So, the moral of the story is - if you're going to do stupid things in another state - pull out cash before you leave.
This dude is the face of auto fraud. Every one of his stories is about some kind of fraud he's committed or tried to commit.
Auto fraud? Nissan builds and advertises the car with launch control. You buy the car and use the feature, which fails catastrophically. It should absolutely be covered under warranty. You can do launch control at every light with a Porsche with nothing to worry about.
this is the only video i've seen of this guy but there's no fraud or attempted fraud in this video so i have no clue what you're on about
@@thetuber705 So lying in the bushes to evade the cops isn't a type of fraud? If you're going to act like a moron, at least be enough of a man to accept the consequences.

VINwiki: Is this the kind of moronic behavior you really want to promote on your channel?
The Cannonball requires averaging 100+ MPH across the entire U.S.
Ed describes that experience with enough subtlety and such a smooth voice so it sounds like a Sunday church drive. But don't kid yourself, the Cannonball is insane, and so are most adventures on this channel. It's all in how you tell the story. :-)
It is a car story. Those are what this channel was founded on. Not all the people on here are well received. Ed is free to release the content he wishes and until full communism sets in, that’s the way it will be.
@@johnh2349 You really have absolutely no clue what communism actually is, do you?
@@gotham61 Communism is when you can't release TH-cam videos about reckless driving. Did you never read any Engels?
@@drunkenhobo5039 Engels died in the 19th century, so that must have been a really early version of TH-cam.
Try again when you're not living your screen name.
He kinda deserved to get the problems with the gtr he didnt even break the car in no wonder it went to 💩
I hate to sound like the "get off my lawn" guy, but it's truly irresponsible passing on double yellow just for the risk of oncoming traffic and the being-passed-driver being startled from an unexpected move. Speeding...not as dangerous - within reason - because you're at least going in the same direction and people expect speeders. Fun story...but stupid.
Most of his are
You can pass safely on the double yellow if you are riding a fast motorcycle or driving a high horsepower car. If you plan the pass and are willing to accelerate a high speed quickly, you're done in a few seconds. Traffic engineers are very cautious these days, and they paint the lines assuming everyone's driving a 3-cylinder econobox.
Wait so if you are riding a fast bike or car you have a different set of rules? That is the kind of logic that gets people killed.
@@matthewcochran3325 Yes. Not legally, but practically speaking.
Where there are (I believe the term is) higher points of conflict, risk is increased. Speeding along a multi-lane highway - where one is expecting some degree of overtaking - is much safer than in a zone where passing is prohibited. The increased risk was going into the lane of oncoming traffic, where the impact forces are compounded vs speeding where the impact forces are - to some degree - complementary/offsetting. (Two cars hitting head-on vs two cars bumping at 70 mph and 60 mph going in the same direction. The impact forces are substantially different.) Also, on a two-lane road there is little maneuvering room to "just move over".
In this instance, I suspect the road was a two-lane road (as double yellow prohibitions are not typically found on four-lane roadways). So, the narrow nature of the road along with the risk of oncoming traffic conflict made this a very stupid endeavor. Fun to listen to. But it was comprehensively stupid.
For example, the Bugatti Chiron doing over 259 mph on the Autobahn...VERY stupid, but less risky than going down the opposite lane of traffic doing 50 mph. However, doing 259 mph is almost as bad as hitting traffic head on due to the overwhelming speed differential. As a practical matter, one has a potentially much more substantial risk profile than the other.
@@MJCLAXDEN that's what I was trying to say. Thank you, bud.

@@BrickNewton That is exactly right. I bought every car I have ever had.
Serves you right, “axis spins” bit you in the ass. You can afford the car. But you wouldn’t want to pay the technician for your mistakes. No, don’t do that. This is why I mostly don’t like this channel anymore, I like the regular people, but these guys that gloat about wrecking cars and not having paying for their mistakes really bother me. “Look at how cool I am, I bought this car it’s registered in Montana so I don’t have to pay registration tax in my home state. I destroy cars and try to get dealerships to cover my warranty for customer damage.”
Except he paid for the car, paid for the repairs... He bought the car he can drive how he wants, even if it does break the car. Cars are made to break
Yeah, he did but he said he was reluctant to pay for the damage he caused. He did pay for it, but he tried to get it for free. Dealerships aren’t stupid. When you do axis spins you can see the wear on all 4 tires with a simple check of the tread depth. He can drive it how he wants as well but don’t expect a place of business to fix your shit for free because you broke the part. Cars do break, parts do fail, but cars that are abused break faster, but if you abused the car/part that broke you should have to pay for it. I’m glad whatever dealer stood up to him and said, “we’re not covering your damage. Here’s the bill.”
@Joshua Owen -- I feel the same about this channel. Initially I liked it when it first was published but now too many of the stories have degenerated into stories of senseless idiocy that could get people killed or are about highly illegal acts. Also too many of the storytellers are nothing but arrogant, entitled doofuses who are nothing more than 10 year olds in adult bodies. The biggest rule among enthusiasts at the tail of the dragon is to not cross the double yellow.

Every story I've ever heard about the GTR involves them breaking. I know people worship them, but I don't get it.
I don't know who needs to hear this, but no repair shop or dealer can stop you from leaving their shop in your car, fixed or not. Years ago I had to call the police because a body shop owner was refusing to give my keys after giving me an estimate after a minor accident. He tried to say that my cracked turn signal lense was a safety hazard. The turn signal worked and it wasn't a white bulb. Nothing illegal. The cops told him "give him his keys, you don't have the authority to stop him."
After he gave me my keys he asked when I wanted to bring it back. As if I was going to let him work on it after having called the cops on him. I told him I'd bring it back two days after hell froze over.
Any car will break if you beat the piss out of it as the guy claims, a 500+hp 3900lb AWD GTR is no exception.
@@Kenny_f_powers Yeah, but they shouldn't break doing stuff they were supposedly built to do.
It's not that they are bad cars, it's the people that own them that do stupid things with them

People drive the tail of the dragon like idiots they need trail cams to grab plates off the drivers that go on blind curves and take both lanes
I see this as a heartening tale of someone whos messes stuff up for everyone, catching a well deserved Karmic correction... what a pair of D-bags.
When someone does something that those with power don't like, and they pass a law to criminalize said behavior, I don't blame they guy who "misbehaved." He doesn't make laws, the lawmakers do. He doesn't enforce laws, the police do. So I blame the lawmakers and the police for "messing it up for everyone," not the guy who did the alleged bad thing.

No victim or property damage, you have no case. Supreme court says so! It is no wonder we have so many people who do not know how to be an American!
I've had the pleasure of spending a night at 33rd. Lesson learned
When he’s telling the story about taking the front driveshaft and driving it around drifting for about a month, the only thing I can think of is, poor transfer case… my heart bleeds for you.
The transfer case doesn't really care if the output shaft isn't really turning anything at least from a mechanical standpoint. Now if it's a viscous center differential it will slip and overheat like crazy but the GTR doesn't use one of those as it's a clutch based system. I think the computer in the car sensed that something wasn't right and the controller kept the pressure off the plates trying to send power to the front. Not ideal but it would work. Luckily the computer is smart enough to know something was wrong and kept the clutches from getting burned up.
You live in an apartment with a couple of roommates and you by a GTR. That's financially sound.
Of course 'Murica' buy expensive car, get in debt, who cares, car gets repo'd, use parents to help buy another, isn't that the way?
Love how he talks about the guy that was on the show the other day with the motorcycle lmao
Of course a dealership would say “we will cover it! (As long as you don’t actually use it)”
Using a car and abusing a car are two different things lol

It's a great laugh to see someone you know IRL on one of your favorite TH-cam channels when you're not expecting it. I've ridden with Andrew in a race on car slicks, and he was quick enough for me to get motion sick.
The only thing that would make this story better is if the story teller was the one who went to jail for a few weeks.
GTR owners at Nissan dealers are like Corvette owners at Chevrolet dealers.
So a GTR can't take doing donuts in a parking lot? That's some good engineering Nissan. 👍
only 100 miles on the dash....
Turns out most AWD cars really don’t like doing donuts. Most AWD cars are honestly pretty fragile and with less than 100 miles on it, that’s just asking for trouble. Yeah you can argue that “oh well it’s a performance car so it should be able to handle it”, but that’s a dumb argument since the wear and tear you get from taking a GTR to the track and beating on it that way is completely different than what he was doing. I’m not even a huge fan of R35s but I would not be surprised if a lot of AWD cars, especially ones with high hp like a GTR had problems doing donuts like he described. There’s a reason why drift cars have all kinds of reinforcement to be able not break on track, and a GTR is just not made for that.
You don't do donuts on a hard surface in an AWD.
GTR is AWD 🤦♂
I'm a bit confused why people in comments keep referring to the photographers as "snitches" because they take photos of literally every vehicle that passes and were asked if there were any photos. If they waited till the end of the day, they'd go to any of those companies websites and see the photos themselves. I would agree if the ‘victim’ was anything but a dealership. Dealerships screw so many people, anyone that is able to do the reverse is a hero in my book.
Dealership isn't the victim, they benefit. They get paid by the insurance company who backs the warranty.

Big mistake buying Nissan. I used to be a dedicated Nissan customer until their quality levels tanked after being bought by Renault in 1999.
Criminal, now police has proof from this guy on video…
They don't, all they have is hearsay from a third party of a story relayed to him by someone else, and the case is already over. Double jeopardy.
Did the photographer catch his license plate number? Lots of those photographers shoot 1,000 pics in a day, then upload low res versions with a large watermark on their webpage for people to browse and order a pic of themselves.
All the police would need to do is go to the webpage and find the bike.
Now if the bike had no plates, then I can’t imagine how they would have tracked him down. They can’t review every person who made a credit card transaction that week in that area and cross reference that with if they own a motorcycle.
Also also - did he say the guy ran a roadblock?! This is some Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit type action here. All that was missing was a helicopter dropping flaming barrels and firing missiles at him!
Nope wasn't me...
