Della Reese was a MULTI FACETED talent. She was SUPERB in Harlem Nights, Touched By an Angel and A Thin Line Between Love and Hate. I miss her. 😔🙏🏾❤️🕊️
WHO hasn't heard of Della Reese?? Admittedly, I first saw her on Touched by an Angel, but I discovered she had a LONG, successful career in the business! SO talented!!
I remember as a kid In the 90's watching touch by an angel (which I LOVED) I felt like if she hugged you. You'd just melt into her arms because I got a warm loving vibes from her. Plus she reminds me of my grandma.
Beautiful! I always thought she was a lovely older woman, kind of like a mom type, but she was an actual knockout when she was young, and I never realized that until I watched this video.
I found a wonderful 💿 call 'the ladies of jazz'. It featured all those wonderful ladies you mentioned, including Della Reece. A true master piece 👏🏿!!!
Nobody said a thing when the Friends cast insisted on a million per episode and got it. It was hardly a blip in TV news. I recall in the 70s my mother was devastated when Della Reese accidentally walked through a picture window glass door. She was so talented and beautiful. May she rest in peace.
Della Reese was a beautiful woman and actress. Stunning in her younger days. I appreciate all the laughs, Harlem Nights being my favorite. Thanks for being apart of some beautiful and wonderful memories.❤❤❤❤❤❤
🙏🙏🙏🙏Thank you, so much! You always put together such dignified but truthful presentations for these persons, I've been surprised the men are actually some of my favorite (Frank Sinatra, Howard Huges and Marlon Brando) I can't wait! 🙌🕊🔥
As someone who starts snotty bawling whenever she starts singing " Troubles of the World" at the end of the 1959 version of Imitation of Life, I wholeheartedly agree.
I was wishing for this one. Della is still one of my all-time favorite entertainers. She was so incredible in "HARLEM NIGHTS", "A THIN LINE BETWEEN LOVE AND HATE", and "TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL." My grandmother was a big fan of hers too. May she continue to rest in beautiful peace and serenity.
Did you know that Della Reese designs doll. In my doll collection, I got a signed Della Reese beautifully detail Zhin Gun Asian-American doll that I cherished.
Thank you for posting karine. I had such an emotional day and all I wanted to do was come home , crawl in bed and watch your videos. Thank you for being my comfort show.
I discovered Della Reese’s night club act at a National Black Theatre Festival where she gave the audiences personal invitations to watch and support “Touched by an Angel,” which would not have had the success it had without her. Though she had a long and accomplished career ,it was sad to see Della Reese go. May she rest in eternal peace 🙏🏾
Yep, Della really made the show I remember. "Touched by an Angel " such a positive show. I'm shocked that CBS tried to do that to Della Reese, then I can't be that surprised story as old as time.
I left the comment about Della Reese speaking up about the pay disparities and her dispute with CBS while on CBS way before mo nique. I love her and still watch her videos regularly.
I remember Della Reese from Touch By An Angel, tv show. My mom talked about her and Mahalia Jackson a lot. She claimed to be cousin's with Mahalia, and knew her growing up in New Orleans. I would love to see a video on Mahalia Jackson!
In the 70s I checked MS REESE in her room at The Chicago Marriot Hotel Shes was singing for choirs. And she was so nice and caring. I truly was touched by the angle.
🩶🖤 I loved Della on Touched by an Angel. I still watch it sometimes on UPtv. I has no idea her career was so extensive. I loved her gray and black hair it was always so beautifully styled so I included a black and gray heart. Great video 😊
Reeses"s salary was NOT in line with what her co-workers were making and not in line with her experience and expertise. She carried Touched by an Angel. She was correct to protest her treatment by the show.
Della was a wonderful actress and singer. She had a career resurgence on the popular television series, Touched by an Angel and left an indelible mark in entertainment!
This woman was truly beautiful. She aged so gracefully. Its so sad that is era of truth class and femininity has almost if not completely died out. Thank you karine for they way you show honor to these iconic women.
I first saw Ms. Della Reese through Touched By An Angel and later in the Royal Family alongside Redd Foxx but she was one of me and my Mother's favorite's. Multi talented and funny asf too! I love that she's getting recognized 🤍🌹🤍🌹🤍
Thank you so much for pronouncing Mahalia Jackson's name correctly. I grew up in a community in Chicago of transplanted Choctaw adults, from Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas, which was our original lands before colonization. Mahalia is a Choctaw name, and the legendary singer came to our church many times, because she and Rev Body, our pastor grew ip together down south.
Della was actually my cousin. My grandfather's relative. I am not sure if she was his cousin or his neice. I just remember the autographed photos of her and his stories about her when I was kid. Since my family was never close to that side of the family, I never met her. I tried to write her many years ago hoping to meet her, but I never heard back. I appreciate this video as I really knew nothing about her after my grandpa passed away and I would have liked to have known her.
Finally, I came across someone doing commentary about queen ms . Della! And did an awesome job doing it! Very impressive, keep up the good work that you do! 👏
●Della Reese was a God-fearing, classy, sheer beauty that oozed style, grace, talent, and was a true credit to her race! ●She was the epitome of beauty, a true legend that will never be forgotten and truly missed! ●We were definitely touched by an angel.....Ms. Della Reese, Rest in Paradise.❤🙏🏽
I love your videos! You cover so many stars I watched and/or listened to as a child and teen that I haven't thought about in years, like the fabulous Ms. Della Reese! I also never thought about the expenses celebrities pay out of their own pocket. It's wonderful that after watching, I have no idea if you loved, liked or disliked the star because you deliver well balanced information. I get so annoyed when I watch a video for biographical data and all I hear is how the person was perfect or is completely bashed. Your videos are so refreshing! Thank you!
Thank you !!!! Karine for your channel and all the beautiful ,talented and very interesting, fascinating women lives .Since watching your channel I've never been bored with any of the lives of the person you chose to tell their stories Great Work!!!!.
I remember her scatting on That’s So Raven, didn’t know she was jazz icon. I thought she was a comedian as a kid. And having an album called Black is Beautiful, imma start listening to her.

Jordin Sparks resembles the young Della
She said... I will bust yo head wide open 🤣
I don't care what she was getting paid. If her colleagues were getting paid more, that's discrimination. Hard Stop.
Yep
Period. Should not even been a discussion. Tess was an integral part of the cast. Why would she not reap the benefits like her co-stars?
Exactly!!! “They” probably thought since she was a black woman that she wouldn’t have the knowledge or fight for what she deserves!! 😌✨
Point blank!
Facts!

People did say something, Noise was being made people just didn’t care to listen. It’s well known that Living Single is copied by friends.
@@jillyjill5755 You mean Friends copied Living Single. Living Single premiered a year before.
@@CeliniacForLifeAnd Kelsey Grammer ( Fraser ) he , was behind Living Single . The TV Actor and Producer. He Wrote the Show . Look it up !
I don’t know how in the hell they got a million per episode when that show couldn’t touch living single I mean honestly 😢
They stuck together.Matthew Perry led them when they said we all get a million per episode or we all go. They got it.@@arleatriceburroughs1455
