- Here’s how I built my 7-inch Long Range FPV drone, the Aquila 7 which I use for most of my FPV flights. It can fly for up to 30 minutes and travel a distance of 20km.
This is a very simplified video on how I built this drone. A lot of steps have been skipped including the software setup etc, if you’d like to see a full video, let me know 🙂
The parts I used for this build are as follows:
Frame: Aquila 7 by RushFPV/STPHobby
FC: Foxeer F722 by Foxeer
ESC: Skystars 60A 4in1 by Skystars
Motors: EMAX Eco II 2807 1300kv by EMAX
Receiver: Matek ELRS Diversity by Matek
VTX: Caddx Vista + DJI Cam by Caddx
Buzzer: Finder 2 by ViFly - วิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยี
Only constructive criticism , get a good blob of flux on the solder joints ... they will then flow into nice smooth shiny joints.
Haha yes this was filmed well over a year ago and I was not great at soldering back then 😂 Have since improved very much. TBS solder and flux are a god send 👌
@ZEFIR001 Much needed! Show us your solder joints!
As if digital vtx is the only option 😢

@@bentoogood I work in Cyber security and off line security and DJI is banned in all of the places that I work in.
Could you please recommend alternative products to the DJI ones that you have used in this build.
Your tutorials are exceptional
Don't forget to strap the RPG round on it 😊
found the Ukraine SOF guy
The chat beat me to the soldering comment. But it's weird to see that digital is the new norm. I'm still a fan of analog for fast flights.
Hell yeah ANALOG!!!
Why it looks like crap
@@duartepaintinghandymanservices just og stuff, also cuz potentially lower latency, like even for me started with analog, now digital fpv came out it just feels weird, even looks weird
Nice build man! Just ordered a tinygo 4k and could not be more excited
This industry needs more plug and play components.
I actually like the building aspect
Rotor riot does, definetly dont need more plug and play in the hobby
no please
None of us want that
Soldering master race. Plug and play only for peasant.
Joke aside, plug and play may easier to build, but it have tendency to fall off, and have higher resistance, and also weight. Every grams matter
Super cool
Very inspiring
Cool 🔥🚀
Nice bro❤
Not enough flux to let that solder flow it's gotta clean the spot it needs to stick to 🧐 looks a little cold but nice build!
Thanks! Yes this was filmed well over a year ago and I was not great at soldering back then 😂 Have since improved very much. TBS solder and flux are a god send 👌
I've learned how to build almost this exact drone in high school 😳
Clean build 🔥🔥
That seemed definitely very easy
Impressive ..
If only it was that easy for everyone, did all that but I've not gotten mine to fly😢
Please teach me how to build drones from zero😊
my favorite Size 100% 5inch
I can only respect people that know how to Build and fly Acro FPV drones.😎
It’s really not that hard.
@@efelton2699which makes his comment even more true. If it’s not hard to do it learn why are people just buying stuff off the shelf and running with those when you have more customizations with your own build?
Hi Could you please help me! this looks like a very good build but i've never build or flown a fpv drone. is there a video of all the parts or a setup guide?
Could it deliver bottles of milk ?
What did this build cost roughly?

got it.
im new to this and want to get into it. does it matter what controller i should be using ? how do i know what controller to use
"How to build an FPV drone (for experts)" is what the title should've been jeeeeez
why would anyone expect to learn how to build a full drone in 60 seconds? BUT it should be enough of a hook to get someone to click onto their channel for more info ;)
Where did you get foxeer f722 v2?
I really love this fc, but f7 v2 is discounted😭
This video was made over a year ago mate, the V2s were the current fc back then. Currently it’s the V4.
What battery did you put on ? Can go pro hero 11 go on ? I’m shopping for parts .
What range could get from building one I want to use for longer time and distance? And what price bracket would I be looking at I want around 15 mile range
Newbie here. So what’s up with dji camera and caddix? That’s gotta be old school or it seems I haven’t understood anything yet 😭
From my point of knowledge the o3 system takes care of that
Yes the DJI O3 is the best system out there. But I made this video over 2 years ago before the O3 came out. Back then, the vista + DJI cam were the main system you’d use. Now everything I have is O3 and soon to be o4 🙂
Why do you need a go pro camera when you already installed dji camera?
i have same build followed your build but in betaflight i cant get device ready on video trans, itter. can you help me pls . secondly what protocols on peripherals did you use ?? VTX MSP , tbs smart audio ....
Do you ever heard about soldering flux?😢
Hello
I ordered a skystars f405 fc but i cant seem to find any documentation on the Internet. Do you know where i could find the manual ?

The goggles I use are the DJI Goggles V2 - £400.

Can I use the castle mamba monster 2, and castle 1515 2200kv V2 motor?
Can I use a DJI cam and connect it to my phone instead without goggles??
What radio do you use?
Radiomaster TX16s
Thanks for the reply, sorry I have one more question. Does the air O3 unit work fine with a non-DJI remote? I’m aware you need the DJI goggles I’m just not sure if the controller aspect matters
@@Felx938 The O3 for control signal only works with the DJI RC2 fpv controller. You can’t use it with other fpv controllers. You’d need a separate receiver system for them like Crossfire or ELRS
can you provide a detail video regarding it ..
Who wants to build an fpv drone after that ? 🙌🙌
Can i connect a dji mini 2 to a headset and use it as a super nerfed fpv drone???

@@bentoogoodoh crap what???
why did you choose an águila 7... do you recomend this frame or chimera or other? I plannkng tu built a 7 inch.... 🙂
It is my favourite 7 inch frame! It flies really well even with Betaflight default PIDS, it's lightweight and can do long range, I've flown it over 16km. It's also really good at high speed chasing, especially if you pair it with 2806.5 1500kv motors. It's also much cheaper than other typical 7 inch frames, being only $50
@@bentoogood it sounds perfect nd what about oscilations and tunning I wass looking for kimera 6 or 7 but now I very exited for aquíla 7... jajaja I wont sleep good today do you use 6 Inch..? I love your videos 🔥
Do we also have to write a code or something in the system
Me watching this and thinking I might actually learn something here, my dam drone been broke for 6 months i have no clue what is wrong with it 😔
Do you sell them? How much it cost for a beginner one?
How much total cost without gopro
Where did you buy ?
Question does the emac tiny hawk 2 freestyle have a buzzer or gps or both?
It has a little buzzer, but not a GPS. The GPS would weight about as much as that drone. You wont need it anyway, the range on those is pretty limited, so you'd be unlikely to have it far/high enough to worry. Wicked little quad though.
Alm that is easy the Beta flight part what sux!
Is it possible to buy one from you bcz i need a good one nd long range also will you help me?
are this kits PnP?
doesn't need extra tweak or coding?
how much does it cost to build a one ??
How much is this build estimated at?
Can I control my FPV drone with my phone?
Where can I buy parts to build a fpv drone
How much did this one weigh?
I probably sound dumb but no more vtx antennas?
Caddx vista only has x1 ufl antenna port
bro were icould find that parts and hom much it all cost
How do you spent for this build
How much does it cost for a beginning level fpv drone? I wanna try it
Take a look at the BetaFPV Cetus beginner kits, they're great for starting out
The thing i hate the most is finding the right goggles and controller and setting them up
How do you set the angle of the camera 🤔
Loosen the screws, move the cam angle up/down then tighten again
Extra camera price?
What does fpv stand gor
Need more heat it seems
All said and done how much did that build cost you?
Around £350 ($435) in total at the time
What control to operate that drone?
Radiomaster TX16s with ELRS 2.4 module
Him: "Okay now install the GPS"
Me: "No."
Don’t you think you could have 3D printed the frame ?
You beild mee I buy
Buy tools link ?
Do these require registration?
Depends on where u live, but in the most country yes
They will soon be like guns
Aquila - pronunciation - Ack-willa *means eagle in Italian
nice in Spanish it’s Agila
Turn the iron up
is there any places i can buy a prebuilt fpv?
Look for RTF (ready to fly) drones
remote id?
What county are you from
Northern Ireland, UK
I wanna do the same build how long is the flight time?
It depends on what battery you use. Generally anything up to 30mins
@@bentoogoodokay thanks 30 mins would be lot of fun to fly around mountains, i got another question for the motors should i get the ones with a low KV like 1300kv etc, im really new to fpv
@@joloaseniro37 Yes definitely go for lower kv like 1300 if wanting longer flight times. A great 7 inch motor is the EMAX Eco II 2807 1300kv as I used in the video.
