Lanning would be nuts to leave Eugene for College Station. In terms of "quality of living" that is such a massive downgrade. Oregon will pay Lanning a boatload to keep him there. In terms of "path to the playoffs/national title", Oregon is about to be a top 3 program in a richer conference whereas Texas A&M is what, at best 5 or 6 in the new SEC? Why struggle to get to 7-5 or 8-4 when you can go 10-2 and make just as much money in a much much more stable situation? And sure this is personal preference, but you would have to pay me considerably more money to leave a place like Eugene for College Station. 95° with 90%+ humidity and heat indexes of 110° for 4 months a year? Sounds like an absolute nightmare.
Definitely lots of preferences and opinions. He’s from Missouri, the conservative Midwest, much like Tx. Oregon is a liberal cesspool. How he thinks? There is a reason TX is growing leaps and bounds. You may not prefer it, but numbers don’t lie. And perhaps rainy gloomy cold weather isn’t his idea of heaven. The heat didn’t bother him in Alabama, Georgia, or even Sam Houston St which is in Texas. Besides It’s the SEC !!! Your crazy if that isn’t a plus in his eyes. He wants to go back. Money is no object for both so he’ll get paid either way. And coaches get you from 4th/5th to 1st. Just like Kelly did at Oregon 20 years ago. Don’t forget UO sucked big time forever before that. The players are there. Top 4 ish in quality. Just need a coach. And as you know it’s not about getting there then getting beat. It’s about winning it all. That can be done at almost any SEC school. Idk if it can at Oregon with the lack of good high school players and only having to rely on Cali players you have to fight over. And if Oregon is so awesome, why did the last 2 leave? All my opinions as were yours. Only Lanning knows what he prefers and wants. I’d never live in Oregon because of the weather and left leaning way of life as you wouldn’t like Texas for the heat . It’s ok I’d LOVE to visit and I know is amazing to visit. But I’ve lived in the cold . No thanks
@@orlandoarreola2977 As someone who lives in Michigan, I must say I think it kind of funny hearing Oregon described as cold! 😁 But, as you said, the guy is getting a major pay day no matter what happens (and so is Jimmy Sexton). Let the absolutely bonkers and out of control college football head coaching carousel begin!
@@orlandoarreola2977- What a bunch of gibberish. By the way, the all-time high in Portland is 116F and it hit 110F this year. It's actually quite hot and dry in Oregon in the summer. Also, Lanning (and his family) love Eugene and aren't leaving, which he has made abundantly clear.
A&M demograhics are not good mix for Traylor, some rascits people at A&M. Also, who would live in college Station, horrible place and desolate. Also, San Antonio loves him and if he leaves he deserves better Big 10/12 team than A&m.
Why would Lanning "make a move" _because_ Orsgon is going to the B1G? That's actually a reason to _stay_ at Oregon. What a goofy-ass statement. Also, he:s not going anywhere.
They should hire Art Briles but they won't, He's nuclear and untouchable. Damm he's been out of football for 15 yrs. I think he's paid enough of a punishment. Briles has them in the CFP inside 2 yrs.
Why would Lanning ever want to leave Oregon for Texas A&M, what a monumental step down
Oregon is ass lol. Stadium sucks. Recruiting sucks. Don’t matter who coaches there those things will never change.

Dan Lanning please
He's already said he isn't leaving OR
Jim Harbaugh will be available
Jeff Traylor is the logical choice. But since when has aggy ever been logical?

Jeff Taylor can only beat college teams with losing records.

15 years? He left Baylor in 2015.

SMU raised $100 mil in a “week”…
