    Guys, you are the fist to make C-class review! Great! Congratulations!

  • @jo05dk

    To me a review includes actually driving the car. How the hell can you review a car, without driving it? It's a presentation video at best. It's not hard to know the difference ffs.
    -edit-
    Kudos to Auto Express for changing the title of the video to match the content. Preview is the right word to use imo.

    Well done to Mercedes for the great new interior, but seriously that screen looks like its just been stuck on. BMW has integrated the floating screen very well, for example in the 3 series and 6 series... but Mercedes seems like this was an afterthought

    Btw, air suspension is not a class first. Citroen C5 has had air suspension in the small sedan segment for 12 years.

    • @thelarry383
      @thelarry383 11 ปีที่แล้ว

      A citroen C5 isn't even in the same solar system as a mercedes C class let alone segment.

    • @111173111
      @111173111 11 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mercedes Benz equipped W112 Chassis series cars, as well as 300SE sedans and Coupes/Cabriolets with air suspension since 1962

    • @fullfist
      @fullfist 11 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +derbigpr500
      i actually drove the C5 unlike some comenters here, my impression is that it's a really good cruiser and surprisingly relaxed in the curves for all it's weight, at higher speeds steering tightens up and the cabin remains quiet, my only gripe is the lack of lateral supports, it needs a bit more refinement in sharp corners.
      the comfort of the air-suspension is absolutely market-leading, EVERY road feels like a freshly paved surface, going through rough road-work areas is a breeze and a you can pass through deep pools of water, by raising the suspension, and it carries four people + luggage cross-continent in comfort.

    • @derbigpr500
      @derbigpr500 11 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Light Yagami
      Yea, you'd know, never being in a 50 km radius of either of these two cars. C5 is an excellent car, in many ways MUCH better than C class. C class, in fact, not even E class comes close to the refinement, smoothness, comfort and quietness of the C5. It's a very comfortable car in every way, the seats are amazing, huge, soft, supporting like a sofa at home, unlike the hard tiny seat in the C class.
      C5 scored higher in safety than C class, it's got more room inside, bigger trunk, same equipment (actually more, you can't get adjustable air suspension on current C class, you can't get massage seats, etc.), the quality of the materials in the interior of the C5 is actually better than in the current C class, which feels very plasticky and dull inside, while you can get a C5 that COMPLETELY covered in leather, on the dash, door panels, velour on the roof, etc. Don't underestimate the C5 just because you lack any sort of knowledge about cars, plus you're very ignorant and acting as if you DO know something. And I know you'll come back with "it will fall apart" or "its unreliable" comment... well, check the latest GERMAN reliability ratings where it scored max. points, just as the C class did.

    • @rousseau327
      @rousseau327 11 ปีที่แล้ว

      derbigpr500 With all due respect to your preference of the Citroen, I find it funny how people refer to safety scores, as in this car scored higher than this car. In the real world, all those scores go to boot, and the real high "scorer", so to speak, is the one that actually effectively protects its passengers in fatal accidents.

  • @Pandamasque

    The grille should have been part of the hood like in the old models. That panel gap really spoils the clean lines of the nose. The interior is gorgeous!

    • @ilya.b
      @ilya.b 11 ปีที่แล้ว

      It won't happen anymore because of the pedestrian safety regulations.

    • @jsponson
      @jsponson 11 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree. The standard grille is better integrated. You can tell that the hood shut line was designed around the standard grille. With the "sport" grille, they didn't bother making a different hood. The shut line goes from the headlight, towards the grille, then sharply goes up and around as if there were a bigger grille.

    The way the large nav screen is done is not inspiring at all to be honest. Should have been a bit more integrated. Now it's an obvious 'add-on'.

  • @KennyVacek
    @KennyVacek 11 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    To everyone that keeps saying how they don't like the dashboard, just know that the only reason the designers make that choice was to create a bigger screen that could not be created within the dash alone. I don't know why you guys are complaining but I would rather have a bigger screen than the one in the 2013 model

    • @JamesJDMoe
      @JamesJDMoe 11 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      its not about the bigger screen. its about how it looks and where its placed. it looks so out of place and after thought. poorly designed by Mercedes. its just an eye sore lol

    • @jsiszero
      @jsiszero 11 ปีที่แล้ว

      but they could. Look at how thin that screen is, this is not the year 2000.

    ashamed to say that i didn't even know mb was putting out a new c-class lol… at any rate, from just this first glance, i think this is leaps and bounds beyond the last gen c-class. the last gen was far better than the one before it… but i don't think it really made an emotional statement or appealed to the younger gen in any way other than being relatively cheap to buy. with this new c-class, it feels like actual innovation has occurred... which is more true to the brand and what made it so famous

    Super clean. I love the new S Class and this is a nice smaller version. The interior is to die for. Would be cool if the screen retracted into the dash but I suspect pretty much everything goes through it to use. I really wish they would give us a manual option in the US. That would sway me away from the 3 Series especially with the new turbo motors. I feel Mercedes is the new BMW. I would have shot myself if I said that 5 yrs ago. Lol. Not no more.

    looks wonderful and classy but also it's made a lot after the new BMW 3 and therefore are at an advantage because they made the car with the aim of being better than the already engineered a follow-up to the competing House and whose fine piece of work could be parked in the design studio and look for flaws and make your product better or nearly as good.The rear part of the vehicle is in the style of the Bentley as well as a thing for the S-class .
    . The result is very good but the competition knows many tricks in market timing, and I prefer the BMW ..

    There were 2 things that made me dislike the design at first sight a few weeks ago while seeing the first photo's and also a bit in this review, the rear lights and the tablet.
    But I couldn't be more wrong, I saw the car in real life yesterday and the rear is just perfect.
    Te tablet doesn't bother in the amazing interior at all (if it's the COMMAND version!).
    It's the most beautiful car that I saw in 20 years in its class.
    Just totally totally amazing.

    Wow this is like an ad paid by the MB. That tablet screen should be in the dash not up like it's added on cheap tablet. Also the front looks boring. Back and sides are better. Why can't the big tablet screen be touch instead of that stupid non intuitive mouse control.
