Lucky enough to have picked up an E class at Stuttgart and a C class at Bremen to drive back to the UK. Both trips included a factory tour before handover. Both trips were mind blowing, amazing! I don’t think these factory handovers are available now for UK buyers - shame.
Whether you like BMW, Mercedes or not, their productions are always worthwhile to see. I saw the production of the mid size BMW 3 in Munich. Visitors are allowed. I loved my C-Class, cause it never let me down. It´s the other way round with my Renault Megane. Shouldn´t have bought it.

Who else here has a C class? I wanted to see how they made our car, now every time I get in the car I will appreciate it. Ours is a 2016 C220d sport premium.
The sad part is all North American C-classes are now built in the USA. Normally that sounds like a good thing (local jobs and all) but what I'm concerned is the loss of the tight QC standards of the German plants such as this one. I don't mind if Toyota or Volkswagen builds cars in the USA. However for a luxury product that isn't Cadillac or Lincoln, I feel reserved about them being built by Americans who I suspect don't have as good QC as the Japanese or Germans (historically at least anyways).
GM has been the most dependable manufacturer the past 2 years and before that they were right behind Toyota. GM has also won the most segment awards 2 years in a row. They're clearly doing something right lol. You might be surprised to know that German manufacturers has an extremely high recall per production rate. The past couple years Mercedes has been better but they used to be very unreliable.
Tesla X It does contribute to the country's GDP and I'm all for more American jobs, but the QC has to be as good as the German built ones to count. As for today the W205 seems to be holding strong, so it appears to work so far.
This assembly plant is in Kecskemet, Hungary. Been here a few times last year, It's huge and Daimler is currently expanding, so it's gonna be even bigger. Currently The C and A class vehicles are made here with the exception of the engines, that come here in pieces, but everything else is made here.
Relax people. Mercedes C-Class is a mass production made car. All those people getting triggered relax. Mercedes is a luxury and craftsmanship type of company. So instead of saying it's all machine made learn more about the company.

All cars are built the same now a days. I work at KIA in West Point, GA and its the same process and same material with newer model cars. Only difference is the badge. Not comparing the two but the process to build them in production is exactly the same. We build the new 2020 Telluride, Optimas and Sorentos
I really want to take the new C400 (when it arrives) a spin. The 3.0 V6TT should be a blast. Those headlights are beautiful; Mercedes has managed to make a multi-LED headlamp that doesn't look like a Spider staring in your face. (*cough*ACURA*cough*) Nicely done. I have reserved opinions on the "bolted-on" infotainment screen vs. the older facelift W204 built-in unit though.
I am a civil engineer graduated from a nice university and have a nice job. But,I would give up everything that I own just to be a worker in this company :)
