I'm watching Chris pick those spikes out of the ground and can't help myself from incredulously exclaiming "How does he even SEE those to pick those up?!"
I commend his operator skill all the time, but that... Wow. There's good, and then there's CHRIS. 😆😆😆 Holy hell, dude...!

Years ago, working as a surveyor on a shopping mall construction, I was worried about an excavator operator getting a tricky bit right until the Forman told me: "Don't worry, that guy can pick his feeth with an excavator". Chris can too.

Always enjoy these vids, Chris! A couple of suggestions: 1. at the beginning of each "project video" explain well what the intent of the project is using a simple (even hand drawn ) diagram or site map..."today we move the dirt from this flooded creek from point X on the diagram/map to point Y. " 2. At times I would like more explanation. For example, when setting a pond overflow box, mention why you pour concrete around the box and seal the outflow pipe. Many thanks.

As a lay person, i dont know why but i like watching chris work and he is funny at time to! I do have one suggestion for jobs like this where you have to lay back mud and move it with skid steer, why not have a dump trailer? You could load it into that and use the skid steer to to move it down the trail or construction pathway. Would be more efficient than the skid steer bucket no?

In the future, might I suggest getting an ATV with a trailer that can handle the mats...
Save yourself the stress of threading the eye of the needle more than twice (once in and once out) with the big machines when you need the mats on a job like this...
Or even just drag them behind the skid-steer or mini if that's possible...

In California we what we call tree huggers, I recall doing a big house pad, majority of the the trees in this area were Huge Euchalipitis trees, they averaged about '8'to 10 feet athe base if trunk. The house owners wanted this certain Tree Saved, so we left it. After Construction of the new build we had so severe westerly Winds the tree was Swaying, it ways hit the eaves of the house, so tree had to be removed before doing yo much damage to the house structure. It cost the homeowner extra $15,000 dallors to remove it piece buy piece. Tree Lovers.
