@u r noob Jesus, what crawled up your arse this morning? It's hilarious that you say "I don't think you know what talent means" and "talent is artistic and creative" in the same comment. Talent isn't exclusively artistic or creative so clearly you're the one who needs to read up on the definition of the word.
I think it would be way more fitting if the enemies were knights, guards, and archers. Basically trying to either colonize the house or get rid of ogres. Nevertheless, this game is a very great concept!
@ralphserr6341 no, the problem is lack of effort and ingenuity when it comes to making FPS games. Just like Netlfix ruined movies, these quick mindless games made by just business oriented devs is ruining video games.
What an incredible work you've done! Anyway, instead of the enemies you have now, that are actually some of the main characters, I'd give a sort of story to the game, using the texture of the dwarfs and enchanted creatures that wants to take control over the shrek's swamp in the first shrek's movie, so would be perfectly logical as enemies. Also I'd insert some next level abilities that consists in calling main characters, like Fiona or Donkey to do some special attack or fight with you. Even if I don't think you'll work on this game anymore, I'd love to see these changes in future, so I tell you cause if you had again the will to update this game, maybe these could be good ideas for you.
I'm honestly surprised there isn't a "do the roar" ability, lmao. More references to the movies like that or using a baby donkey as a flame thrower would be super cool if this project was ever revisited, but it looks pretty fun regardless.
Right? More enemy variety as well, and more locations and the Bosses could be like Lord Farquad or Prince Charming, and Fairy Godmother, and definitely NOT Shrek's freinds, like BBW or Gingie.
The Fat Dino once again showing off his appetite for making fun, solo project games! You should make a horror jurassic park/Dinosaur game! A genre you haven't touched yet and you get to potentially have the Fat Dino himself as a horror character :D
Tbh I just don't play horror games and don't really know how they "function" and how to make them scary. But the jurassic park horror sounds really fun, gotta think about that one!
@@FatDino A lot of walking, a lot of readable notes, and a bunch of screamers. And of corse the atmosh[pere of tension, quite often with spooky sequences that tingle your feelings but don't resolve into anything scary. :D
@@FatDino you really should do. A lot of people want jurassic park horror game. Make the game first-person. You can also make the jurassic park game look like "Alien Isolation" which the dinosaur use AI to think his own way to find and eat you. You can get guns but with limited ammo. Main thing to do is running and hiding and survive. Add storyline which u reach to island by plane crash or smth. And try to escape the island. I know that would be a lot of hard work. But i believe you can do it.
This actually made me really nostalgic for the old Shrek games. I used to 100% those games over and over again because I thought they were so fun lol. Thanks for this. :)
Legendary, though it would have been funny if the Shrek model entered the outhouse when doing the ability configuration and bursts out when done. However that would have been a lot of work to implement for an animation mainly hidden behind a UI and I'm sure plenty of time already went into the rest of the game. There's also the potential for expansion of the game with different maps and enemies but let's not get ahead of ourselves XD
If you make the animation happen at the left while the ui is on at the right, wouldn't matter for the player experience, especially if the animation is short tho.. maybe like 1.5s. I hope he can add it. It would be a lot of work, but worth it cuz its not just a hitbox with a menu if you click it
@@josk8936 That's a really good point. Like have the UI open and the animation play at the same time, so even if you drop out of the menu right away shrek will already be steepping out of the outhouse. Yeah I can definitely see that being fun without being intrusive or annoying.
Honestly no disrespect to the creator’s work but in game development there really isn’t a such thing as “plenty of work already”. Things can pretty much always be worked on and improved, even in some of the best video games ever made. The limitations of course are money, time and passion. Money and time can be worked around but lack of passion is what ends up stopping most indie projects in their tracks
You should've made the enemies like this: Beginng Waves: Angry mobs of villagers with pitchforks and torches. Mid Waves: Knights with different levels of Armor and Weapons. Ending Waves: A variety of fairytale monsters. Final Battle: A Dragon. I'm thinking the setting of the level itself should be more of an adventure rather than just in the swamp. Maybe you could have his friends come in as an ability to help instead or the plot could and/or be that he needs to save them. There's good potential for a new Shrek adventure style action game.
this game looks and feels so nostalgic, the sounds and the graphics as well as the background is just awesome. this needs to be a full open world rpg if thats possible.
This is so hilarious and breathtaking game at once. I love how are you putting so much effort to make your "small" projects. P. S. No one asked for it but everyone needed.
Such an amazing video to watch! However throughout this video I couldn't help but have a few ideas pop in my head for the game: - The Roar (ultimate ability) - A few throwable items like boxes and barrels lying around. or maybe even tree logs. - A possible crafting system to make gameplay more replayable. - Some sort of "Wanted" system where through each day you get through, your bounty builds up and harder enemies come for you like maybe lord Farquads soldiers. - When you get through a full week the next wave will be a boss fight (with maybe a cutscene?) - Boss Ideas: Prince Charming, Peter Piper, Fairy Godmother, Robin Hood, Mongo, maybe some of those men at the bar like Captain Hook would definitely go for a bounty. - Maybe some allies down the road That's all the ideas I have for now but I'm sure I'll come back and edit this comment a lot. :)

@@saeedyeslam1202 With Unreal Engine 5 it's very easy to create a game like this, and very possible for someone who has not done coding ever in their lives to be a one man game development team. The only problem is, is your game ever enough? Because you can always keep adding content, gameplay mechanics, cinematic visuals, when will you finally be satisfied and say ok the game is ready to be published? BUT, this is very useful to prototype a game idea or design and test to see what fits and what works and more importantly what DOESN'T work with that game idea design of yours
@@BratzFanz123 ah, there's the problem with Unreal Engine, there are not many tutorials out there for UE, and there are too many features in UE5 that no single source of tutorials can cover them all. From the modeling, to mapping, to animating, to rigging, to lighting, to particle effects generation, to physics simulation, to coding, to resource and memory management, to user interface and interaction, to running from online servers for multi-player, you have to just work on UE5 every single day to even begin to grasp the scope of this powerful engine. I just began with experimentation, trial and error, and to some certain extent, asking Chatgpt. Everything I know about UE5 comes from just using and working on the software every single day for almost 3 years now
it would be perfect if in the begining of game where "you want to go home but there's some weird noise behind you", you turn around, see enemies and shrek yells "WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN MY SWAMP"
What you can do to cut down on the tedium of all those Passives in later gameplay is make them have a duration. For example, give them all a 2-3 day duration (and notate this in game) so that if unused, the Passive deletes itself from the Outhouse after the set timer. Only leave the 6 Abilities to last forever.
All these psudo professional "UI" and "UX" designers out about and this man embarrasses them and puts them all with to shame with like a days worth of UI work.
no, he really couldn't. you can't even making a AA game using just blueprints and store-bought assets. its the script-kiddie version of game development
Unfortunately the person above me is correct because the definition of a AAA game is the budget and he doesn't currently (always hopefully for success) have the upwards of a thousand to a million dollar budget to make a triple A game. He can make an A game which is just a indie game and I mean the quality isn't dictated by the budget. So if you're trying to say he can make a good complete game within 2 years probably but could he make a triple A game in 2 years no because he doesn't have the budget.
Wow, im just surprised you got it all together so well. I mean if you really pulled hard on this idea it would be a real blockbuster game for sure. :) You got the skills and knowhow to pull this off. Hats off to you and a small reward in the form of a subscriber.
There should be an open-world Disney game where all Disney stories are available, and each story has its own DLC. Players would be able to select a character type based on their favorite Disney character. The game would be implemented in a similar way to The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, but with a Disney twist that includes lots of weird and funny magic. That would be amazing!
This seems like such a cool idea with tons of potential but missing some serious creativity. Shrek could have a better and more realistic moveset if you stop to think about it for a minute: Grab: Grabs the nearest creature in front of Shrek. Once grabbed the player could hit the attack button over and over to pummel or spin the joystick to make Shrek spin the enemy around and then throw them away. Burp: Shrek burps and leaves a lingering cloud that deals AoE poison damage for a while. Fart: Shrek lunges forward to cut distance and leaves a toxic trail behind him. Roar: Shrek roars and causes enemies to paralyze in fear for a while. Throw rock: Basically what your Pinocchio is already doing but with larger rocks. Other moves like Spinning, Ground Slam, Tackling, and Dropkicking are self-explanatory and fit the Shrek theme perfectly. For enemies I would go with haunted creatures made by witches. Makes more sense than Shrek fighting infinite copies of his friends. For gameplay I would go more the God Of War horde action RPG route with a skill tree to increase Strength, Stamina, Defense, Flatulence, Speed, and Vitality. Areas could cover: The Swamp, Duloc, The Forest, Dragon's Keep, Haunted Forest, Cave, and finally the Witch's Castle.
You never fail to impress me man. Always excited to see your projects. Would love to see if you ever make Unreal Ben10 game with different aliens & abilities
Looks absolutely amazing, the only thing I could think to add would be a dodge, it would probably make the game feel smoother and u would have to trade damage less, overall amazing especially the graphics in the swamp
I have an idea for a story! Rumple Stiltskin got butthurt because you found a loophole in his contract, so he kidnaps all your friends and makes evil clones of them. you get to fight bosses like Fiona, Donkey, Giant Gingerbread man, the dragon, fairy godmother, etc. you gotta leave your swamp, go through lord farquaads castle, then the dragons keep, through a few made up areas, and ends at the land of far far away.

One thing i would have added is, that the start of the first Wave is actually the beginning Scene of the first Shrek Movie like you showed earlier in the Video.
But ey, the Game already looks cool enough as is.
Good Job Fat Dino :D
Thank you!
it is in no way balanced ffs, have u played it
u can never get close or u die instantly
making this a fukin tag game
and u r basically just aiming to be a glass cannon
Fat dino isn’t only a really good game dev he’s also a artist those drawing are really good!
Used to play the shrek game on game cube, shrek's dialogue within here gave me so much nostalgia
Just here to say that we appreciate all the effort put into this. Thank you. Looks wonderful and fun to play.
This is actually insane. You're a one man development team
Is he a game developer or a game Designer?
@@saeedyeslam1202 With Unreal Engine 5 it's very easy to create a game like this, and very possible for someone who has not done coding ever in their lives to be a one man game development team. The only problem is, is your game ever enough? Because you can always keep adding content, gameplay mechanics, cinematic visuals, when will you finally be satisfied and say ok the game is ready to be published? BUT, this is very useful to prototype a game idea or design and test to see what fits and what works and more importantly what DOESN'T work with that game idea design of yours
@@kenhew4641 Thats crazy. what tutorials would you recommend for people that want to start their hand in creating games like this?
Everything I know about UE5 comes from just using and working on the software every single day for almost 3 years now
@@saeedyeslam1202Neither
it would be perfect if in the begining of game where "you want to go home but there's some weird noise behind you", you turn around, see enemies and shrek yells "WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN MY SWAMP"
I would un-ironically love to play a modern Shrek RPG
Bro really made shrek a Diablo barbarian and thought we wouldn’t notice 💀💀💀
But srsly though, this is really cool
Shrek is officially an earth bender
For a project that was thrown together in a week this is some solid work! Defs better at animating than I am LOL!
So in the video i said "week later" after creating a swamp environment. Only. The project took 3 months xD
Special thanks to the people who provide ready-made models/assets ...projects would take decades to finish.
Some of those bugs look really cool
This was an Honorable Tribute to that guy who sang that song at the beginning of the Shrek movie.
What a beast. I wish I had half this guy's ambition to sit here and make stuff like this.
When a fan made Shrek Demo is nearly looking better than the original Shrek Movie, you know technology is coming along beautifully.
facts
I'm never going to look at the Diablo UI the same. 11/10.
lol
This is absolutely incredible, i admire the patience, creativity, and skill of this!
All these psudo professional "UI" and "UX" designers out about and this man embarrasses them and puts them all with to shame with like a days worth of UI work.
I feel like you could make a successful triple A game in 2 years on your own.
no, he really couldn't. you can't even making a AA game using just blueprints and store-bought assets. its the script-kiddie version of game development
Absolutely speechless. This was an.....experience to watch. Amazing work.
I think it would look better if you make the enemies the knights and the men with torches
the fact you use a Meow from a "cat meows at a door cam" meme really made me laugh!
By the way, I think you should add recoil to both the player and npcs, not too much but balanced enough to add a layer of challenge and realism.
Another masterpiece from dino chad
I'd sacrifice my pc for Shrek
Wow, im just surprised you got it all together so well.
I mean if you really pulled hard on this idea it would be a real blockbuster game for sure. :)
You got the skills and knowhow to pull this off. Hats off to you and a small reward in the form of a subscriber.
thanks man, glad you enjoyed!
Thank you, TH-cam Recommendations
Another certified neighborhood classic!
“Let’s make a game about *DONKEY!*”
Shrek could have a better and more realistic moveset if you stop to think about it for a minute:
Grab: Grabs the nearest creature in front of Shrek.
You just had to add a "what are you doing in my swamp" scream in the beginning of every wave, so even without it i'm impressed your work
Shrek doing a Hadouken or Spinning Bird Kick is incredible. Shrek Street Fighter or Doom.
I would love to see that.
I love how made shrek fighting animation.hes really setting up 😂man's a experience boxer
You should have a rarity system based on onions:
Outer layer (lvl1)
Inner layer (lvl 2)
Core (lvl3)
Great video btw 😁😁
Can we get a game about dogs, where it’s a rougelite
(And the black Labrador is the best because that’s my dog and no other reason)
Looks absolutely amazing, the only thing I could think to add would be a dodge, it would probably make the game feel smoother and u would have to trade damage less, overall amazing especially the graphics in the swamp
When my child was born I named him Shrek. He hates me now 😢
Amazing! the rogue lite aspect makes me want to make a similar kind of game so bad
3:45 this brown lightning make me feel womit... so bad. It was good before the changes
im sorry, but it is swamp, it supposed to look like that
Dreamworks should consider hiring you
this is wonderful potential for a full fledged open world shrek game!
it takes skills to make video game development seem easy. i love it.
If u put this game on sale, u gon be rich
The fact that he's fighting his friends makes it just Shrek 3 all over again
I have an idea for a story! Rumple Stiltskin got butthurt because you found a loophole in his contract, so he kidnaps all your friends and makes evil clones of them. you get to fight bosses like Fiona, Donkey, Giant Gingerbread man, the dragon, fairy godmother, etc. you gotta leave your swamp, go through lord farquaads castle, then the dragons keep, through a few made up areas, and ends at the land of far far away.
Gingy: "But I thought we were your friends Shrek!"
Shrek: "Get out of my swamp!" *Proceeds to kill Gingy and eat his corpse.*
this is like the best shrek game and really embodies what shrek is and who he was before everything i love this so much!!!
I'm mostly impressed at your broad range of knowledge! Impressive.
I would absolutely love to see “I made Feeding Frenzy 2 but it will DESTROY your PC”
Missed the opportunity for an attack called “Do The Roar”
the lighting in the swamp is so incredibly beautiful
Shrek's dancing build looks fun. It would be nice to add the song when the movie starts
