The game is an absolute fire. The graphics, the atmosphere, the lore and story for a such a demo project is aweesome. I would totally play it if this was a big game.
@@FatDino i Have a suggestion. There's a game on steam that takes your concept of a fake mobile game ad and turns it into a real game, its called Arrow A row,and i think you should check it out
Man the "fake ads made real" game demos are getting to the next level. There also a game called "Arrow a row" on Steam that is based around a different nitorious fake ad mechanic and is actually pretty fun.
That's so awesome. Even a 2D version would have been fun but this has been taken to a whole new level. Honestly looks so much more engaging than the games they are trying to promote.
I feel your skill level for level design and background aesthetics for scenes has grown enormously since I started watching you, glad to see you again, amazing work!
I still remember downloading and playing the nvidia tech demo "Box of Smoke" in 2006 and thinking OMG this tech is right around the corner. Now it's almost 20 years later and we finally see it implemented.
it wasnt implemented because it was bad for business. the worst thing you can do as a developer is make your game exclusive to niche hardware and require gimmicky and proprietary software to run it . the games that tried to use that feature are now unplayble or lost media because they cant run without that exclusive hardware. and the games that still exist are not using it for anything meaningful
I like the idea of having multiple solutions to a puzzle that may take you to a different next room depending which route you take. Each path split leads you to a different ending which makes the game replayable to get all endings with maybe an achievement for each as well as an achievement for finding an Easter egg solution that requires some out-the-box thinking solution that seems unintended but actually is a feature. There is actually a fair bit of potential for a well-made indie game here.
The devs of the Katamari Damacy Switch and PC port also made a game like this called "YEAH! YOU WANT "THOSE GAMES," RIGHT? SO HERE YOU GO! NOW, LET'S SEE YOU CLEAR THEM!" I'm not kidding that's the name.
Wow, very nice theming, you really nailed the vibes with the setting! Great touches on the textures, and matching sound design. The puzzles were fun too! What a way to take a “puzzles with fluids!” concept above and beyond. 👏👏👏
Honestly looks way better and more interesting than any of the ad's it based on. I'd love to see a much more polished and complex version of this game with a deeper story, more advanced mechanics and longer play time.
You are a legend! It is baffling to me these companies make these ads of a game people actually want to play, then just...don't make the game? It's such a weird strategy.
I Love your Videos. They inspired me to actually try Game development in Unreal Engine Myself. And im really thankful for that. Especially after the whole Unity crisis. Im still bad though. I need to learn a lot until i can do cool stuff like you.
My headcanon for this game is that the player character was experimented upon until they received telekinetic powers. That's why you can move all the pipes and such, but once they mastered their powers they returned to the lab to shut it down.
i'm happy to see your new video! Ideas for next video -------> "GTA VII" , "The Elder Scrolls VI", Cool VR game, Pokémon GO in 4K , Remake some of old games, create a game in just 24 hours(or more or less), ask ChatGPT for some ideas etc(idk more ideas)....
I thought you would recreate just the literal mobile game, but you went beyond :0 That was such an awesome idea, to be honest. See it such idea with triple A game experience is quite an interesting thing :P
Amazing work dude, only if devs actually had enough skills to actually make the ad into the real game, this wouldn't be a huge problem. Also dude what is that drawing software you using to design those puzzles?
Just found your channel. I played with Unity with some tutorials on Udemy before, but never tried making something from a blank canvas and struggled when I tried for real. I'm interested in Unreal instead. Do you have recommendations on getting started making quick protypes like you did in this video and then expanding? I would love to learn Unreal.
making small prototype is always a good practice, so yeah, it will definitely help you. Start from something easy and work till you hit the wall, then research and learn new things
Find a tutorial playlist that gives you a project goal and teaches many things, because learning 1 prototype thing will not be enough (and youll run out of guidance - wont know what to do next). E.g. for me I did a tutorial series (make their thing). Then I knew how to make my own things that they didnt teach.
It's giving me the vibes of the good old flash games that everyone played 20 years ago. But seeing this video, of the game actually being made and the process being explained is really something special. It creates a sense of community between the dev and the players. It's a marvellous age we live in. Keep up the great work, Fat Dino.
If these games were actually real, people would play them because actual puzzle games are fire 🔥 Instead they just rehash another boring merge game or Candy crush game and fake the entire thing. I don’t get it. People are just going to delete it right away. What’s the point??
There’s a game on the App Store that turned those fake ads into an actual game (obviously nowhere near as good as this, but still great) and I can’t remember what it was called and can’t find it in my history. So frustrating, it was great
