Interests are a funny thing, aren’t they?
Everyone has media that they like, a movie they adore, a game they love the heck out of, even an artist they listen to no matter what age, and it’s no surprise when I say this but my own preferred media is animation, I’ve been a fan of the medium as far as I could remember, be it show, movie, short film or web series.
But let me ask you a question, an inquiry if you will ,as an animation fan, have you ever thought of the people behind these productions?, y’know the people who you see at the end credits, those parts of the movie or show you usually skip, for the uninitiated, big productions have different processes such as writers, storyboarders, artists for different parts of the production, basically everyone who is involved in making the episodes you watch, what if I were to tell you that the teams behind these animated properties, different types of people who work their hardest to put pen to tablet and give us amazing worlds and characters are treated in the worst way by their employers, work hours are long leading to burnout, employees who take on multiple tasks aren’t compensated for it, animators not being paid the same as live action writers, burnout, low vacation days, tight deadlines, these issues and many more plague the animation industry today, so essentially (lord hater clip) ,the only difference now is that it’s finally become a large enough issue with modern productions that animators decided to speak out and that brings us to now.

I don't know why it's so hard for some people to just treat every form of media with respect. Animation can capture the same emotions that a live-action film can, or an Emmy-award winning drama can, so it makes no sense why it's looked down upon. Great video Mr. Toons 👏
animation, at least in the us, has been placed in a box of either cheap entertainment for kids or clones of clones of clones of south park for so long that it's only getting more and more impossible for it to break away from with how badly netflix fucked up their creator-driven animation initiative on their own volition, i can only fear what it's going to mean for the future, because you know that hollywood is only going to take the wrong message from it
a friend of mine suggested that it could take decades for entertainment as a whole to recover from the damage netflix has caused to the business-art relationship, and while i wouldn't agree on it taking that long, from everything that's been happening on the industry side of things it could very well be a long time until things pick up again

Welcome back, Geek. Animation deserves more respect than it gets. So many animated films and series have brought joy, tears, and discussion for years. They have brought people together and have inspired many others to make their own. Things need to improve. I believe they can and should. You shouldn't be given table scraps after pouring your blood, sweat, and tears into something.
7:47-8:10 reminds me of a story I heard of an older man asking a young woman what she does for a living, she said she works on animated shows, the man responded “don’t kids make those”? He literally was under the impression that no one pours all of their work into animated media purely because of its target demographic. Shit gets no respect whatsoever.
Dude literally believes that KIDS make cartoons? I...I can't...my brain is broken.
Also, about the whole "it's just for kids" thing, you wanna know what were also considered children's books at one point? Lord of the Rings and Animal Farm.
Great video Geek! Animation deserves a lot more respect from companies who don't understand how much labor goes into these movies and shows. I hope that there can be a #newdealforanimation so artists, writers, and voice actors can be paid more like their live action associates.

There’s too much favoritism on anything that’s not a cartoon, comic or movie from Hollywood, and those 3 things I just named need more respect, especially cartoons and animated movies, that are way more than just “kids movies”
The problem is TH-cam is now a platform where everyone is negative and never give anything a try, they just want to hate and scream woke.
