One thing to keep in mind: whenever you flash the ECU your throttle response will be less sensitive for several days while the ECU learns. Afterwards it will become sensitive again. I was underwhelmed after going stage 2 during my first ride. Once you have put some distance on it, it will feel different and open up much more. This is my experience with the Cobb OTS tunes at least.

Everyone teasing him about the "Don't do that" statement. He's actually right. Not only is it bad to rev the engine on a cold start, you shouldn't touch the throttle until the engine warms up and goes through a cooling fan on/off cycle, and then an engine restart. The reason being is the ECU has to learn the parameters. That's why you get the sluggish pedal when you take off right after a flash.

Let the car go through it's full startup program. And let the car come off high idle on it's own.

Backfire is normal on these cars with aftermarket exhaust. Doesn't mean it running rich. My 18 backfires regularly with stock exhaust and muffler deletes. MAP OTS tunes are very solid, ask around and you will hear the same.
Ots tunes are shit. Why would you spend the money and not get a proper tune? Oh yeah, because it costs a 1/4 of what the stage two kit costs. If you have an accessport just log some data and shoot it to torqued performance. My car runs like a raped ape with a stage two tune from torqued performance
You should get BlackVue front and rear dash cam and hardwire with power magic pro and 2x add a fuse for proof and protection.Its super super helpful.

Seems quick. Be careful with off the shelf tunes. Its easy to run out of injector capacity and get too lean. Pro-tunes are worth the money.

I ran with and without. My AP was showing about 3psi below target on boost with the pill in. Its very close to target with the pill removed.
quick question. I spoke to COBB directly and they said that STAGE 2 had to be stand alone and that changing the intake would *require* the fuel rail system. Have you heard the same?

You’re maybe making 260whp, your stock turbo/ tmic Max’s out before 300 wheel and intakes don’t add hardly any power if any
I am only stage 1 and my car runs 266 whp and 300 torque to the wheel. It depends on how much boost you run and how good your tuner is.
Zakir Muradov doesn’t matter what “stage” you think you’re at, a stock wrx turbo and top mount is not making anywhere near 300 wheel. Also, off the shelf tunes only account for the mods you’ve done, they don’t try and push power like a pro tune would. My “stage 2” was a vf48 turbo which is best stock sti turbo, sti top mount, full 3” exhaust and external waste gage and only put down 270 wheel on a dyno. Just saying you can pretty much tell how much power is being put down from the mod list

It’s 268 to the crank, which would be about 220 to the wheels. Car manufacturers always give HP from crank not wheels.

I have a 2009 WRX with all Bolt ones upgraded turbo e85 1050 injectors Bigger intercooler professionally tuned running 20 PSI and I’m pushing for 150 wheel horse and 400 foot pounds of torque just goes nowhere near 300

Thomas Clarke u remove the restrictor pill if u go with an electronic boost control. I could leave it in but will have massive boost spikes. Not good!

Yes if you were fast in the beginning to get it. Now only way to go catless without a protune is to etune with eric at tp

If you know someone you can never void your warranty. I blew mine up while in stage two, put the stock parts back on and had it towed to Apple Subaru. They pushed it through warranty even with 59k & I got a brand new short block :).

You're right. Most people see between 60-80 whp/tq gains on the dyno tops. Throw on a TGV/EGR delete, better intercooler and get a protune and you might squeeze 100 out of it.

Eric and Emily somers you can only run both if you set it to stage 3 which also requires you to do the fuel system. Or if you want to run both you can get a pro tune but I would rather get the fuel system down first then the pro tune

You’ll have a CEL and i believe their maps are for catted pipes only. Go with MA performance tho they make better off the shelf maps
On one website it says the MAP Stage 2 map requires the MAP intake, and you can use ANY catted OR catless aftermarket J-Pipe.. Another website says the MAP Stage 2 map require BOTH the MAP intake, AND the MAP Catted J-Pipe... I want to run my catless Invidia J-pipe.. would there be any problems¿ thanks.

rusty mueller I ran stock top mount my first dyno tune in my videos made just under 300/ 320 tq on 93. And to mention it was 95F out that day drove over an hour before my car was put on dyno. To say he ain’t making close is pessimistic to say the least

no stage 2 beings with upgrading the j pipe and going with full turboback exhaust with stage 2 tune. stage 1 is just a tune on top of stock engine with an optional cold air intake.

Omni Via it is the MAP ots tune not the Cobb ots tune.
