Just as a reminder: Keep in mind prices change from day to day. For example the ROG card just dropped from 549 to 475 EUR here in the Netherlands in one day (tidd.ly/620b3a5a) and the Gigabyte card went from 419 to ~450 in the US (amzn.to/2p51sHO). Take these results and learn from them, but always do a last minute check before buying any GPU.

I have the nitro + that is clocked up to 2039 mhz stock. I undervolted it to 860mV and downclocked to 1850mhz.
Performanceloss is around 3-4% ONLY :).
The card had before peaks up to 250 watt. Now around 170 watt peak, avarage is around 70-80 watt less that stock. Vrm temps are under 50° and avarage temp is at 50-55° while under 100 % load and fans spinning at 1250 rpm.

Did you even test for peak memory temps? I can overlook not including fan speed rpm's, but peak temps give very useful information on how efficient the cooling solutions are. Best picks for custom 5700 xt's are either the Sapphire pulse or the Gigabyte gaming oc at around 450 euros. Best premium models are the Sapphire nitro+, Powercolor red devil or the MSI gaming x all around 490 euros.
Good video though, nice job on presentation and editing but please extend your testing methodology or graphs to include all of the basics! Instead of spending a minute of covering the rgb options, you could have talked about actually meaningful data like memory or vrm temps.

I know and you can actually see the icon next to the Aura software in the video. That one gives an error like "Not Aura" and doesn't work either. I'm sure it'll work eventually if i keep un-/reinstalling drivers and software, but the point stands: it's far from perfect.

So I came up with this build
      Case: NZXT 510
      CPU: Ryzen 7 3700x
      MB: MSI x570 Unify
      GPU: MSI Radeon Gaming 5700XT
      RAM: G.Skill 32GB, 3600, CL 16
Storage: Western Digital Black 1TB M.2
Power: Corsair 650-850 Gold (Haven't decided this one yet)
      Cooler: NZXT Kraken x62
Monitor: MSI Optix G241, 24inch/1080/144hz/1ms/IPS/AMD freesync
I know my mb is an overkill for 3700x, but I'm thinking when Ryzen 5000 series comes I can get 3950 for cheap. It gives an option to do a CPU upgrade in the future. The 1080 monitor will be good in the future more resources required games as well.
For GPU, if 5700XT gets issues, I will go MSI gtx 2070 Super

Asus Strix : tried and tested, but lame software, relatively expensive
MSI Gaming X : bad face, and with recent QC issue, better avoid it for now
Hmmm if there is a model that is appealing in optimized performance and looks... *cough*Nitro+ OC*cough*

What QC issue? :) You meant them making stupid mistakes with the Evoke? That doesn't affect the Gaming X though.
As for the Nitro, hoping to get hold of one at some point. Not entirely sure if Sapphire's software will be better though.

I had the opportunity to test my brother's Nitro+, it was amazing and he planned to get the custom ARGB fans set when it is released.
The Trixx software is fairly basic but I have no complaint with it :)
It's just my personal preference to stay away from MSI for now, have read many cases of bad QCs and one happened to my own laptop, so nay from me until I feel they are decent again.

Did you “Guys” ever think off buying the shit on AliExpress or Wish just to test whatever you get? I would never buy it tough, maybe its fun to let people if its scam or good stuff. Graphic Cards i mean for this.

There seems to be some quality issue with strix 5700XT and even TUF
I was planning to get Asus monitor/mb/gpu (full amd), but now I am going to go with full MSI instead, cuz it's cheaper and is on sale rn and I haven't heard quality issue yet.
I would go with gigabyte, but they don't have a support centre in Canada, and that can be important if something happens.

Why do companies coughMSIcough always want to put red and orange on their cards?! I love how that gray, black and red one looks but I don't care for the red.

    • @TechTesters
      @TechTesters  4 ปีที่แล้ว

Gigabyte used to do a lot of orange details. I'm not sure really, I guess to 'be different' or because 'that's what they did in the past' or something. I like designs being a bit unique, but solid colors in 2019 just feels weird right?

    • @SirNickyT

@@TechTesters yeah 100%. I didnt name gigabyte by name cuz they aren't typically as in your face with it. A few LEDs costs what? 20 cents? One of the reasons I visually like the Nitro+ and Red Devil is cuz they ditched the traditional blue and red and went with rgb. Forcing someone into a color scheme in 2019 is crazy and potentially losing you sales over what? A few LEDs? It's just not smart. My Red Devil looks great and I'd have got the Nitro+ if it wasnt impossible to find. I got lucky just finding the Red Devil in store.
