100% agree !!! My life has changed incredibly since I’ve had my “studio” it’s amazing!!! Your channel has provided me a ton of inspiration!!! And it always looks great!!
There's a method that being used in every (well, a decent one that respects itself and the products), which is 5S, that's is part of lean managment and waste reducing. You can use its principals on any of your daily actions and it improves a lot, helping you being cleaner, organized and that goal is to have this sustained and standardize (2 out of 5 S's and the last ones which are the hardest to achieve). As a manufacturing manager in a big medical device company, I find myself bringing these peincipas into my life and it is an amazing way to keep what you need and where you need it.
finally found the video i was looking for, have been searching for days and the videos i got were not helpful. thank you so much for this.you have gained a subcriber
It's very nice to see your home studio setup and desk tour. I've learned some new things by watching your video. Thanks for sharing and keep up the good work man! 👍🏽
Hey Edward, great video. Quick question - for the desk setup in this video, where would you typically keep your laptop? I was trying to find it on screen but I couldn't figure out where you kept it? Thanks in advance!
If i may add what is hopefully a constructive criticism: the panels you placed behind the eddison light bulb arent doing you much good. They need to be placed lower at the same height as the speaker, so that those reflections from the wall wont counteract or even overboost the waves coming straight from the speaker to you....please correct if im wrong or if i missed the point here. All that being said: what mint studio! Im planing my own studio/work space as well and your video def inspired me. Thx mate, cheers!
thank you for this video full of ideas, It's great to have such a good studio to make music👍🏽 however I have some concerns: I'm moving into an apartment with my little family (my wife and our baby ) and I plan to make one of the rooms my home recording studio except that it is really small, barely 9 m2 with one of the walls directly outside, on the road. So with the passing of cars, children who shout when they are having fun, I fear for my voice recordings and I really don't want to be forced to go and do my voice recordings in another studio, and in plus I really can not take the risk of renting a room because I start and I do not have a big budget. I am therefore hesitant between the fact of either building, despite the "smallness" of the space, a small voice recording booth (1.70 m long by 1.30 m wide) or just dealing with the acoustics of the room (the sound insulation being impossible given its narrowness according to what they say) and use a portable screen absorber miscreen (funny pro). But that remains apprehensions so I would really like to have your expert opinion, it would be really too nice, thank you.
If you are really worried about outside noise, a booth would be a great idea (especially if you can afford it). The rest of your room will be perfect with basic acoustic panels (you won't need many because the room is small). Only doing acoustic panels in the room and not a booth - will still absorb sound, but NOT isolate outside noise... I have a vocal booth back at my parents home, and for sound isolation in a home studio, you can't get better.
@@EdwardSmithMusic Thank you very much for your advice, however should I also put panels in the cabin, moreover, is there an economical way to soundproof this cabin without resorting to glass wool or rock wool panels, because we you can't find in my country, you can find it more in rolls and having bought it once to make panels, the density was not at all good, so could you suggest me some ideas please?
How's the audient? I am superrrr confused between the id24/14 and the Apollo Twin X Since the UA plugins are all native now... Does the Twin stand up to the almost double price tag? What do you think?
The Apollo Twin is an audio interface you won't need to upgrade from again (unless you want more inputs in future). The Audient however has the best preamps and build in its price range. I use my Audient iD4 all the time.
Hello Edward I wanna ask I have a room for my studio But I confused 1.Should I cover all the walls using carpet or leave some space? 2. If I already have headphones, should I buy speaker monitor ? Hope you answer it Thank you God bless you 😁😁😁😁
Definitely get studio monitors, but don't buy cheap ones. Rather save your money and wait until you can afford a quality pair. Regarding acoustic treatment, try get panels... or make your own. It's really affordable if you do it DIY
Thanks for the reply, trying to setup my studio and I was starting to get confused on soundproofing first or doing acoustic treatment with regards to mixing concerns. Couldn’t figure out which is more important
I actually wanted to be a musician and i do play guitar and interested in vocals as well but the I am student studying in Australia 🇦🇺. Doing a late nights work and don’t have much time to practice. I also want to set up my desk in small studio bought some interface but they are lying there. And i am 21 years old is it too late start all these things? Idk i just want to be a musician
I dont know if you read this or if you think the same about today but if you do; let me say i´m in the same situation as you and no it isn´t too late to start as a musician. The will never be too late to start. So try it because if you don´t try it you will be annoyed about the missed opportunity later. So try it!
Beautiful work mate! One question though: why didn't you prioritize bass traps? I mean are you having good acoustics with minimum bass reflections only using those wall panels? In any case, amazing Studio man and thank you for the video! New Subscriber here! Cheers :)

Hello Edward

I have a room for my studio
But I confused
1.Should I cover all the walls using carpet or leave some space?
2. If I already have headphones, should I buy speaker monitor ?
Hope you answer it
Thank you

I m new. Just set up my music area with Scarlett Focusrite. Guitar, HP Laptop, Ipad .
Must I really have speaker monitors?
Great video bro I loved it
Do you use Logic Pro x? I would love to se you compare logic and Cubase
I unfortunately don't use Logic... Cubase is still my go to... Maybe in future 👌🏻
Try ableton, you'll never go back
whats the wooden thing that your clock is resting on? Looks slick!
Who makes the custom neon sign? Love the set up
Could you please share a link to the studio acoustic panels that you installed in the video?

Came across your vid trying to make 20 synth setup with 2 4U racks look minimalist 🤣
Hi love your video
Thanks!!
is the chair really comfortable? a little scared of the price, don’t wanna get a flimsy one that could easily break
This chair is really comfortable and super solid!
I’m trying to figure out where you store your mac whilst it’s connected to the monitor? It looks very tidy.
What are your opinions on that midi keyboard? I've been thinking of getting an alesis q49 as well
It's perfect for the $100 price tag.
Great setup , have a question tho is your studio soundproofed ?
Thanks… my room is not soundproofed, only acoustically treated
Thanks for the reply, trying to setup my studio and I was starting to get confused on soundproofing first or doing acoustic treatment with regards to mixing concerns. Couldn’t figure out which is more important
Are you going to move to logic or still cubase ?
I still prefer Cubase for right now.
Thats great ❤️
Hey bro , where did you get the ED TV sign?
a what set-up?
What chair do you use?
Need the link to the desk 💫
Where did you get that custom neon sign?
I had it made on Alibaba, in China 😂
Do you use FL studios??
Where did you get the wall panels ?
Here is a link - amzn.to/3h0ErNz
hey edward I wanna ask.. does it matter to have branded gear over the function for music producer? The reason is about Personal Brand
