I've watched countless home studio vids over the years, and I think this one Is one of my favourites. I love your setup, both for production and for filming. look forward to the day I get my own space for all that
Lol. I remembered, we needed tons of equipment before we can say, "I have a music studio." NOW, you just buy a desk, a computer, a monitor, and a pair of speakers. DONE!! Wait a minute...it looks like it's my son's desk and other person too. LOL. Sorry. it's just funny.
Hey, i just finished building my pc, for music production / TH-cam / streaming stuff. and watching this video was pretty inspiring to watch. Thinking outside of the box, can be a bit challenging when i lack the resources, of where to get stuff, or even think of stuff haha. so TH-cam has been pretty awesome. i really appropriate your hard work, your videos, and the links!! keep up the good work man. happy 2021.
@@EdwardSmithMusic ha you made it easy! Super high quality footage, solid information, and all put together in a creative way... good stuff man, I can only imagine how much time goes into these videos ha :)

@@alok-desai Dude of course!! If i assist you, can you give my channel a shoutout?? I know this is a dumb demand but I have a goal of getting to 100k subs by the end of the year, and your channel could really help me get there faster... you don’t have to, I’ll still help you out none the less 👌🏼
@@EdwardSmithMusic Hey man I'm trying to build a studio setup at my place in India. I wish I could use your help in doing so. I'll give you a shout out if you help me building my setup and guiding me how to soundproof my room to make it ideal for a studio.
@@EdwardSmithMusic Hi Edward. Apologies. I just missed your comment for some reason. For sure I would love to give a shoutout and all the help is appreciated. 😀
If you get an Embody or Aeron chair, get the right tracking wheels and then push the Embody with arms to move it. So push just the arms if you're not sitting on it, it will move easily. If you're sitting on it, it should move easily with the right carpet tracking wheels, there are a total of 3 wheels and 2 are good for carpet on the Embody.
Edward I have to say thank you so much for all these videos. They really helped me throughout the pandemic and I now have a desk space where I can work and enjoy making music. Thank you so much! 🙌
Hey man, that’s a cool setup you have. Try rising your yamaha monitors a bit though. Having the tweeters on ear level should improve your sound a lot. Right now they’re just shooting at your shoulders.
This looks amazing! I love the wide display monitor. Unless you can blow through the poster and feel the air on the other side those foam panels are much better off being out somewhere else!
low-end frequencies build up in corners, if you mix there it may sound a bit muddy, your better off moving the desk to the middle of the room and pulling it back to a third of the way down the room. Trust me, do a recording before and after, you'll hear it. another good way to tell where you should mix is to walk around the room and clap loudly. When you can't hear the echo as much, that's usually the spot you wanna go from
btw you can get universal roller wheels for your chairs off amazon. basically like rollerblade wheels that roll better on carpet, and they look cool....
Dude thanks for laying out your whole studio setup with amazon links, super helpful. Saving some things for later as possible upgrades. Also you've got quite the budget having a spare bedroom as a college student!!
@@EdwardSmithMusic nice man well I worked for 4 years out of college as an engineer and still don't have as nice a setup as you lol so I'm very jealous. I do have the yamaha hs8's tho ;). Your song on spotify sounds pretty good too btw. Has some illenium kind of vibes in like a real mellow way. I make similar stuff
Clean and simple, I like it! I envy you guys with a "spare room" so much haha. The only thing I noticed, since you are taking care of acoustics and all that, why not put those yamahas to your ear height or angle them. Being nitpicky I know :D
Do you have a vid on all the equipment showing everything and where and how to get it? I want my studio to be set up JUST LIKE THIS! Great video SOOOOO ORGANIZED luv it 😘

Dude, awesome job on the design and the quality of this video! It is sooooo chill and and very well organized! I am in the process of creating my studio in a designated room and its been a process over the past year and now I'm woking on the full time set up of the camera area for video! You have given me so much inspiration and I appreciate that so much! I love how minimum the design is and how the "gear" is the focal point! I am obsessed with the LED peace sign and the banana!!!! Thank you for such a detailed list! Can you tell me where the clock is from?
Nice setup. For your chair, you can get large 4 inch casters for 50-60 bucks on Amazon which allows it roll over carpet easily. I almost got a plastic mat like you did, but I've always hated the feel of those and how they eventually crack over time. Cheers mate.
Dear Edward, I would go for the Herman Miller chair, either Embody or Aeron, the second which is better for your back, and choose one with the right tracking wheels, there are a total of 3 wheels and 2 are good for carpet, that way you avoid putting the flooring mat in your room. I am very new to recording and I have a Audio Technica AT2020V mic with usb.
