It was a bulletproof, reliable basic port injected v8 and everyone bashed it for not having a stupid dial to back your trailer or for not having semi autonomous driving. People say they want a basic truck but then won't buy it because it doesnt have enough tech and features.

Plenty of competitors to the Ford Maverick, in the US there is the Nissan Frontier, whilst overseas companies are building the Toyota Hilux, Mitsubishi Triton, Nissan Navara, Volkswagen Amarok, Great Wall Cannon, LDV T60, Mazda BT50, Isuzu Dmax, These arent in the US because the market isnt asking for them and its not worth building these for US market when EV versions will be replacing them in a matter of years

Let the back seats fold down like that, but slide them out the door on a track. Then, jack the drivers seat up. Of course the roof will need to jack up and pop off like a jeep. Now put the motor on the roof and do a tailgate in the front instead of a hood. Pop the frailgate down and flip it out 3x like the tailgate. Boom, now you can carry 24' 2x12's and save $109 on a lumber delivery truck.
The average transaction price on a new Sienna is around $50k. Assuming it's price competitive with a Maverick you could almost buy two of them for the cost of a Mini van
I just had this same scenario myself. Found a 5 year old minivan with 36000 miles for about $20k A pickup truck with twice the mileage and similar age (or even older) was going for $30k or more. Especially the Maverick.

Going out of my way to find a charging station and Waiting at a charging station (and alot of charging stations don't pump out the voltage that they advertize) for 1/2 hour to a hour or more (when a gas engine takes 10 minutes to refuel) in the middle of nowhere is DEFINITELY NOT the future.
